Nara Chicken & Tonkatsu

After a trip to Japan, the craving for Tonkatsu has inspired a search of good Tonkatsu in Edmonton. Nara was a hit. The Pork sirloin Tonkatsu and Chicken katsu were nice and crispy. The meat inside was well seasoned and juicy. The included salad was spot on to salads in Japan. Nice little bonus was the kimchi for the rice. The server was friendly and great with excellent suggestions.

Small eatery tucked away in small shopping center. Don't let that stop you. Food is excellent. Service is excellent. Really a great place and some if the best Korean food I have ever tried. Really recommend stopping by.

Great staff, quick seating. Fast paced service. Overall very good customer service. The food was excellent as well. Super tender and juicy inside while still having that crunchy texture on the outside. 10/10

Nara Chicken and Tonkatsu is an unbelievable Korean restaurant in west Edmonton. They have a wonderful selection of traditional Korean food fare in a very humble restaurant space. The food is extremely generous and delicious. The presentation is very well done. And everything is modest in its delivery. The Tonkatsu is spectacular! The service is wonderful. Very kind and helpful. But they can get very busy here. And I've only ever seen two ladies working here so it can get a little backed up. The constant stream of food delivery folks that come in here is a testament to the quality of food. I can't say enough good things about Nara. 5 x 🍲🍲🍲🍲🍲

I thought it was the first time in Canada that such a kind and warm-hearted store was ever seen. The food was delicious, and thank you so much for taking care of me carefully. It's a pity that I couldn't eat other menus because I was full even though I emptied them all. I was lucky to buy croquette, which was said to be bought only when I ordered it in advance. Red beans and sweet potato ? I think it was, Especially sweet potatoes were so delicious. The price is good, the taste is good, and you're really kind. Thank you.

With the taste of home-cooked meals, this restaurant exceeded our expectations and left us craving for more 🤤 We tried and share their Honey Garlic Chicken with its mouthwatering flavors; the chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, with a subtle sweetness from the honey and garlic sauce. The sauce was VERY WELL-INCORPORATED, coating each piece of chicken EVENLY. Bulgogi Japchae—it was perfectly cooked, the noodles were thick and chewy, and finally their Spicy Ddukbokki— with a kick that left us craving for more after each bite AND WATERRRR 🤣 good thing we were complimented with kimchi and pickled radish 🫣 The service at the restaurant was prompt and friendly, adding to the overall dining experience. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Korean cuisine for the first time! 🫰🏻

Very friendly servers, comfortable atmosphere and delicious food. I am surprised I only found out about this Korean restaurant lately. I really love their croquettes, weet potato flavor is my favorite 🩷 The cinnamon coffee also taste great. This is our 2nd time visiting 😊

Amazing place all around!!! We got Pork Tenderloin Katsu and YangYum Chicken. Both were soo delicious and soft on the inside + crunchy on the outside. I would definitely recommend either & would get their tonkatsu again! Service is very friendly and fast. Prices are very reasonable and portions are filling. Even the sides (coleslaw, radish, and kimchi) were so delicious and fresh! The place is a little smaller, but perfect for small groups, friends, and dates! Hidden gem for sure :-)
