"Hidden away in the lush jungle south of Siem Reap , the sleepy village of Treak is home to one of Cambodia’s best-kept secrets. In such a tourist-flooded destination, it’s easy to get swept away in the sightseeing infrastructure—both luxury and backpacker—and miss out on local Cambodian culture. But this palm tree–filled oasis of just 10 villa-style rooms has the answer. The hotel is staffed almost entirely by villagers, the sleek modern decor comes from local artisans, water is heated through solar energy, and the restaurant sources its fresh ingredients from nearby farms. Sojourn even has its own NGO, Husk, which works with local families on everything from health to education, providing opportunities for guests to educate themselves and engage with the community in a positive way. Best of all, Sojourn encourages this responsible tourism without sacrificing a modicum of luxury, from its glassy saltwater pool with a swim-up bar to its custom-made destination dining experiences. The secluded, romantic suites have private gardens, and the decadent spa is the perfect way to bliss out after a day of exploring the dusty ruins."
Can't say enough about this place. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating, even waiting late to cook for us when we returned late from excursions. The food was excellent! The resort is in good shape for the area.
Only downside was the Buddhist chanting or dance music that played from a loudspeaker a short distance away in the village. It was almost constant. It was interesting to listen to but occasionally we just wanted for silence. All in all we were very happy that we stayed here and got to meet the staff.

Great place to stay a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap! Nice cottage style buildings that are clean, spacious and nicely set back from the pool. The staff are very friendly and we have been lucky to meet and discuss the different restaurants and sights to see with various other hotel guests. If you want a nice quiet place to retreat from your daily exploring, this is a great place for you!
Oh, and the food is amazing! We just decided to stay and eat 2 dinners here instead of heading back into Siem Reap.

We spent 4 nights at sojourn and after reading the reviews online we were really excited however the reviews just don’t match the reality. It’s very tired in particular the pool area. Furniture is old in need of a paint, sunbeds have mould on them and the pool (salt water) is not clean. The entire pool area needs a good scrub down from head to toe. Having said that though the rooms did not disappoint. It was clean and very spacious. The location is very quiet as it’s a few kms out of town in a cute village but it’s dusty as is most of Siem reap but the road to resort is dirt so staying here red dust everywhere. The food at the restaurant was ok not fabulous but not bad. The thing that is fabulous about this place is they give back to the community. They hire locals and train them and also donate to HUSK. So it’s ethical tourism and that’s a big bonus. The staff were all fantastic, warm and friendly. However even with this in mind, I wouldn’t stay again..the impression I get is once upon a time it was a winner but perhaps I missed those days.

This hotel is amazing! The room we stayed in was beautiful and full of fresh flowers. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We got a driver from the hotel to take us to Angkor wat for the day. He had cold water for us and at the end of the day he had cold lemon grass scented towels for us to cool down. I definitely recommend the spa treatments, I had a massage and a facial and wish I had time to get more. The food was delicious, the best we had in Cambodia. The destination dining was a great and delicious experience. I would definitely come back here again.

Located on the outskirts of Siem Reap main town and 10 mins tuktuk ride into the centre, this lovely little hotel has wonderful and spacious bungalow accommodation surrounding a swimming pool. The staff were very helpful and lovely. The food, although a little limited, was tasty and freshly cooked. An ideal location from which to explore the town and temples. One thing we liked was the tranquil atmosphere and the chanting from a nearby monastery. We would definitely recommend.

Full disclosure: did not stay here as a guest. However I did take a cooking class here and got a tour of the premises. The class was phenomenal - private class for me and my husband, met a local family down the street and learned how they live. It is pretty secluded so you wouldn't be able to walk to downtown Siem Reap but it's a gorgeous property, a lovely oasis. There are individual bungalows around a nice pool. The staff is incredibly friendly. I would absolutely look at staying here if I were to return to Siem Reap.

Was really happy with my stay at Sojourn. The staff was very friendly and invited me to a wedding that I attended with them. The room was very clean, modern and really nice. I had an outdoor shower and a front patio. The food was also really great, they had laundry service and were able to provide discounted transportation for me. My only complaint is that the pool was not very clear and clean and thus I did not swim. Other than that, I would recommend this place!

We had a lovely stay at Sojourn Boutique Villas. We enjoyed being slightly out of town because the centre is pretty hectic and loud! It was nice to get away from the hordes of tourists once we were done wandering around the temples. |Staff were excellent. Very helpful and conscientious. They organised Tuk Tuks for us each day and advised on how to beat the crowds at the temples. |Only slight negative was the rooms need a little attention, the black bathrooms are starting to water mark. The pool is also a little cloudy but still lovely for an afternoon dip.
