3 days in Singapore: The November 2019 edition - SilverKris

"A spare, whitewashed café inside a cultural complex that pairs pale-wood minimal décor with well-made coffee and a rotating selection of homemade sweet treats — a quiet, design-forward spot for a light fuel-up before museum-hopping." - Sanjay Surana

Went on a weekday around 2-plus and the place was already quite packed. It’s a small cozy spot to enjoy coffee and cakes. They were out of brownies when I arrived, but the server kindly offered to bake a fresh one since I mentioned I came especially for it. Best decision ever—the brownie was amazing! Moist, chocolaty, not overly sweet, with a touch of chocolate lava inside. Honestly one of the best brownies I’ve had, and definitely worth coming back for. The carrot cake was also delightful—light, moist, and generously portioned. Paired really well with the brownie. I ordered a mocha, which was balanced and not overly sweet or chocolaty, though not quite to my taste. Next time, I’d like to try their white coffee or dirty coffee instead. I can’t wait to return for more brownies! At only $5 nett per slice, their cakes are a real steal.

Excellent coffee made by true coffee enthusiasts. I’ve never witnessed coffee made with such care and precision. They make a great range of coffee, even flat white for the Australians plus some small treats such as banana bread and croissants. You can enjoy some great shopping in the same building as well after enjoying your coffee.

Managed to try this coffee shop courtesy of CDC vouchers, and was glad it turned out to be a decently good one. 🔆 arriving on a weekend after lunch, it was expected to find a crowd here, and we ended up taking a table on the outside which was relatively windy despite the very sunny day. ☕ ordered a mocha and a hot white, and both turned out pretty decent, very flavourful with a good roast - which can also be smelled from the outside every now and then when the door opens. I will be back to try their signature dirty (after missing it out on the menu) the next time!

The guy behind narrative is coffee obsessed and it shows. Proper artisan level combining coffee notes this coffee store is crazy good. Coming from Melbourne this competes up with the highest!

Yummy coffee in a trendy place with trendy people. Be here between 1500 and 1645 for a good deal with a delicious pastry. Would be great to have some options for vegan pastries.

Nice vibes: when I was there during lunch time it was crowded but not noisy, the baristas were chill and unhurried. They had 4 different beans for espresso shots, and the barista recommended me a blend based on my preference (acidic) which was really nice. Great place!

Decided to check out this place as I was in the vicinity, and was pleased to see we could use CDC vouchers. Ordered two oat milk lattes and was unpleasantly surprised by what we were served… felt like 0 effort was put into preparing the coffee. Not only was there not even a simple latte art (most places at least bother with a wonky heart at least), but the milk wasn’t even properly frothed. Very disappointing especially as both drinks still cost $13+. I could have done better at home. Ordered a single origin, but the notes of the coffee were not present enough that the oat milk completely overwhelmed the drink.

these aren’t just baristas these are artists!! even though it’s called the “coffee stand” i highly recommend you sit and enjoy a nice artisan coffee/tea drink and one of their delicious pastries. we happened to get there around 15:00 and there was a deal for a coffee and free pastry. it was so good and the baristas are world class
