My family and I came to this restaurant today and we were extremely underwhelmed. We were here with two small children, but they don’t have a children’s menu and told us to order the same set menu as adults. As a result, our kids did not eat anything. The food is horrific. The cuddle fish and the confit dish has the same sauce, and they were both way too salty. One of the main entrees, the sea bass, was not fresh at all. It’s really old frozen fish. To top everything off, the cookie dough dessert contained peanuts. My 5 yr old son has severe peanut allergy…the restaurant did not disclose anything about dishes containing peanuts or asked us about food allergies. At this point, we were ready to run out of here. When we asked for the check the waiter said we can use the credit card. We waited for several minutes, it was until we asked them the 3rd time about the bill that they told us their credit card machine was charging and was not ready. Finally, we have had it and threw down the cash, then ran out of there.
I started my career in restaurant business and this place is epic fail. Note to head chef, before you put anything on the plate for customers you should try everything and ask yourself would you eat it. We goto Japan quite often as my wife is Japanese, we visited several countries and tried many restaurants; this place is a total train wreck, from food preparation to services. I understand this place is associated with a popular Japanese movie, but I don’t think it can survive for a couple more years after the movie fab faded unless the chef go back to culinary school and get retrained. Food is pretty, but inedible. Service was horrid, definitely not a place to take kids to, be extremely careful if you have any food allergies.
