TLDR: A little out of the way from St. Louis, but definitely a great spot for craft beers, particularly IPAs.
Not being from St. Louis, I have only heard of the great craft beer scene in and around the area, particularly with Side Project, Perennial, 2nd Shift, etc. However, one that you should consider making the trip out for is Narrow Gauge. Located north in Florissant, I'd say this brewery is worth visiting despite it being out of the way.
Note, I cannot speak on the food here, just the beer. Anyway, in case you don't Uber, Lyft, etc. here, Narrow Gauge has a small-ish parking lot, which seems like it could fill up if you go during peak hours. For reference, I went on Black Friday around lunch time, and it was really busy already.
As mentioned earlier, IPAs seem to be the spotlight here, although Narrow Gauge does have a number of different styles of beer on tap. They do flights/tasters here just in case you don't wait to commit to a full pour and/or can't decide on just one beer. I personally tried:
- Vigne Dure (sour IPA)
- Rye'd In the Face (NE IPA)
- Gewurz (sour IPA)
- Double Dry Hopped Spark Motion (pale ale)
- Double Dry Hopped OJ Run (NE double IPA)
- Double Dry Hopped Hoppy Meal (pale ale)
- King Fallen Flag (NE IPA)
- Double Dry Hopped Fallen Flag (IPA)
- Double Dry Hopped Cloud City (NE IPA)
As you can see, many variations of the IPA can be found here and a lot of them are very good. Great balance of flavors, easy drinking, and just overall delicious. My personal favorite was the DDH Cloud City, which I ended up getting a 4 pack to go right before I left. There are plenty of options for merch and to-go beer right by the doors.
Overall, Narrow Gauge is doing some great things with their craft beer selections and a place I highly recommend if you're in and around St. Louis.
