Midway through a long day of driving, I stopped in for lunch. The space is relaxed and inviting. The service was great. They were fast and friendly and were great about explaining some items on the menu to suit dietary needs. The food itself was exceptional. It was a great experience and if you are in Fredricton it should be checked out.

Absolutely loved dining here! They have a wide variety of sushi on the menu at reasonable prices (about average compared to other sushi restaurants). We ordered the 3-roll sushi set. it tasted great and looked like the picture in the menu. The service was also excellent, very friendly and attentive.

Was seated immediately by extremely friendly staff. They were very quick with getting the green tea and miss soup. And when the main bento was brought out, they continued to check in and make sure everything was good. The experience and food was absolutely amazing! The staff was also extremely friendly and nice.

I took my girlfriend to Naru for Valentine’s Day and we both really enjoyed our experience. Our waitress, Vy, was very friendly and despite the restaurant being especially busy, she made sure to check in on us often, which was appreciated. The menu was large enough for us both to easily find something we wanted to try. The food was great and we particularly enjoyed the Banana Tempura Ice Cream for dessert. It was my first time dining in at Naru and I’m sure I’ll be back soon.

Google
our waitress was very kind, she even complimented two times my nails ☺️ I loved the service, my favourites were the k chicken and the atlantic roll ! but the floor in both washroom (ladies/gents) were very sticky, could use a good mop !

Google
Tons of options to pick from and their Sushi tastes really good. Was a bit confused which one to order but everything I tried turned out to be good. The service was also good, the girl was friendly and prompt. I think this is the best place in Fredericton to try some Japanese cuisine. Would definitely repeat.

Yelp
Naru Sushi sits on the south side of Fredericton with a street side patio which overlooks the historic court house. We were greeted promptly by the staff when we arrived and they were very attentive throughout, although, they brought all our food at once instead of apps first and then mains. The menu online boasts a huge variety of rolls, sushi, sashimi and, strangely, Ramen. The restaurant is quite run down, the chipped wall corners and Amazon adornments, along with a dirty floor, give the place a worn out look. Given the reviews, and being in NB on a business trip and craving sushi, I was lulled into not judging a book by its cover. I was wrong. I ordered Ramen (Should have gone to Momo on Queen). It came with a prepared salad that I would be embarrassed to serve. A small pot of watered down green tea accompanied the dish as well. The Ramen had an over boiled egg, flavorless broth, and the grilled pork was not belly meat, it was an over boiled sliced of pork, also flavorless. I make a point to grab Ramen wherever I go in my travels, and this dish ranks at the absolute bottom of my list. I would never order from this place again.

Yelp
This was our last restaurant stop during our visit to NB. The food here was by far the best thing we ate during this trip and possibly the best sushi I have ever had! It's a small restaurant but cozy. We visited on a Saturday so it was moderately busy but we didn't wait too long to be seated or for our food. If I ever come back to this city, I'm definitely eating here again!

Yelp
Coming from Toronto, finding good sushi has been a challenge in our rural community. When we found this place on a trip into Fredericton, it made me forget I wasn't in Toronto. The quality and freshness of the sushi was amazing. My wife was able to have the chicken karaage ramen which was very tasty and excellent serving sizes. The amount of rolls you can find here is amazing and rivals the best sushi places in all of our travels. Lots of variety and very interesting takes on what you would find elsewhere to make it a place we will definitely be back many times. With the outdoor patio during Covid, and the extra care they are taking to keep everything sanitized, you just feel comfortable here. Staff is very friendly, service is quick, and the chef makes everything from scratch. If you can get the ramen before 5pm, you will not regret it. We also did some of the vegetable tempura, which was huge, crisp, and very tasty! Thanks so much for an amazing experience!

Yelp
Since my last review quality has improved. I am addicted to their seared scallop roll, their restaurant is still dirty and looks like a dated gross hole in the wall but with high end prices, but the food is much better.

Yelp
Great Sushi spot along with many choices for that do not partake. This was the spot my 14 year old for her birthday. We all had awesome meals and the service was great.

Yelp
Great sushi restaurant. Love the atmosphere. Service was fast and mostly precise, couple little reminders were needed but nothing major. And of course, the food was perfect. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back, he had the peanut butter roll which was actually really good!

Damon M.

Yelp
As many others have expressed the service is mediocre at best. Was far from busy and yet took to long to get service throughout the entire meal. The menu is very extensive. Lots of great choices. I feel the prices were tops for the amount of food you get. No complaints on the quality though. Not many choices for children. Ordered a chicken appetizer for my little girl. I will come back. But don't expect 5*service although it could be with a little tweaking.

Yelp
I always recommend trying the Charashi when going out for Japanese Sushi to validate if this is an ok versus fantastic sushi restaurant. This restaurant has fantastic sushi! Fresh sashimi, fresh wasabi & great rice. I recommend that you visit this place.

Yelp
Their lunch specials are the best! Such value! I think I paid like 13 bucks for a full roll, miso soup, tea, and like two other sides I can't recall. I usually just order take out from here so I do not have the experience with the service as previous reviewers have but I've never had an issue when dining in. My top choice for Sushi in the city.

Yelp
Has to be the best sushi ever. Had the mushroom maki and the spicy Miso chicken Maki with gyosa and was amazing. Service was next to none and very friendly staff. Definitely coming back!!

Yelp
The menu is huge and creative, a little pricey but worth it. The staff was amazing, great place. The only issues are with the size of the menu, it makes it difficult to make a decision because of the huge variety of unique rolls, it made me want to read each one, also they were out of a few of the menu items my party tried to order. I ended up ordering the vegetarian lunch special to try everything I wanted to without over doing it, I would go back to try some others if the opportunity came up

Yelp
I have gone to this restaurant numerous times and I thought it was OK. The food is decent but perhaps overpriced. The waitstaff has been friendly on every visit. And it's always been clean and child-friendly. Today the service was so slow we just left after waiting too long for our orders. I'm not even factoring in or complaining about the wait time to get seated either. After seating our party of two adults, it was 15 minutes to get menu's and a drink order in -- we had to flag the wait staff down! Once we placed our order for the lunch specials, we waited nearly another 45 minutes before walking out without receiving our orders. Other groups of people were seated and served in this time frame. If a Sushi place can't even manage to get customers looked after in a timely fashion, why should I trust that you can handle raw fish in a timely manner and not kill me? In short, I value my time and I'd think twice about going here if you have a strict budget on your time.

Yelp
Really good Japanese restaurant with good sushi and tempura. The fish was very good and the lunch menus are quite nice. Service is good. Good pricing.

Yelp
Best vegetarian sushi meal I have had so far! The only dowside is that Naru is almost 2 hours away from home, so I can't go there to satisfy my sushi cravings as often as I would like to.

Yelp
I extremely dont recommend this restuarant. Firstly when we arrived, there was an empty table which can fit 6 people. We have three people here. They let us wait for 20-30 mins. I did want to eat sashimi so I waited and I thought that table was reserved. While after 20 mins, they took us to that table! We waited another 30 mins for making an order. They havent ecen asked us if u want someting to drink. The service is worst I have ever met. Moreover, the food is not fresh. I felt painful after I ate the raw fish. Other people felt stomache as well. So bad. Not Recommend at All!!!

Yelp
Naru has a nice selection of Japanese cuisine. I prefer my sushi (and many other things) to be vegetarian, and there are plenty of vegetarian options to choose from, even if you're not in the mood for sushi. The service has always been great anytime I have dined there and the atmosphere is also very nice. Save some room for dessert and try some of their ice cream!

Yelp
My wife and I ate there this past weekend and had a great time. It was my first time at a sushi restaurant so I don't have a lot to compare it to. Forgive me if my review is naive, but I just can't find a lot to complain about. The restaurant itself has a classy feel to it and the tables were set beautifully. You definitely want to wear at least a collared shirt. There was one customer there in a t-shirt and backwards baseball cap and, maybe he didn't care, but I felt embarassed for him. The wait staff were very attentive and responsive. The waitress kindly explained the difference between nigiri and maki sushi and I decided to jump in with both feet and order the Chef's Choice nigiri and the Naru Special maki roll. My wife ordered a teriyaki roll and vegetarian catepillar roll. It was delicious all around. The total came to around $60 for the two of us. I felt the price was reasonable for the service, ambiance, and food that was served. Only two things I noticed that might've been better. The hostess didn't offer to take my jacket so I had an awkward moment where I wasn't sure whether to hang it on the back of the chair or walk back to the entrance and hang it up. I also overheard the restaurant manager scolding our waitress for something or other. I even hesitate to mention those things because it didn't really detract from the experience much. I definitely plan to go back again.

Yelp
We go to Naru every couple of weeks. The Naru Roll is a bit pricy but absolutely amazing (we get one every time). The service is awesome, it's always super clean and it has a pleasant atmosphere.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! There isn't a lot of options for sushi in this city, and I think this is the best I've had yet. They have an extensive vegetarian menu, the majoirty of which is already vegan. I tend to go there for lunch, so it's not a huge crowd. Their lunch specials are an AMAZING price for the amount of food you get. Try the Kakiage roll, you wont regret it.

Yelp
If you're looking for sushi in fredericton, I'd recommend this place above others. The menu is huge which allows everyone to find something they like. My husband and I have been here a few times and staff is very friendly and the food never disappoints.

Lynnette K.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Fredericton's restaurant scene. Naru's food is delicious, fresh, and well-prepared - I've tried most of the sushi on the menu, and it's always fantastic, but the Rainbow Roll and Una Crab are really tasty. Naru is well-priced, as you get what you pay for; if you want sushi-grade fish, of course it will cost you more. The staff are friendly and pleasant. The restaurant itself is small and intimate, and very clean. My only complaint is that it sometimes takes a while to get a table, or takeout - but it is always worth the wait!

Denis A.

Yelp
The waiting time is really long!!! The Sushi is not that good for the price that they are asking! I can rate the sushi 4/10! The place inside is nice and clean and the waitresses are also nice.

Colin C.

Yelp
Naru is my go-to place for lunch in Fredericton. They have a lot of creative maki sushi on the menu, much of which uses local ingredients. It's not a fancy place, but they have good service and consistent quality. They do take-away as well, which is a bonus if you can't be asked to make dinner once in a while.
