The 14 Best Things to Do in Charlotte

"NASCAR's most famous racetrack might be in Daytona, but its home is Charlotte; after all, many of the classic racers hailed from the hills surrounding the city. Attached to the Charlotte Convention Center, the NASCAR Hall of Fame is a 86,500-square-foot, bold swoop of a building that recalls the shape of a racetrack. Considered more than a museum, this entertainment facility is a high-tech venue that's impressive even for non-NASCAR fans. Everything, just like the sport, is oversized and fast, from an interactive card that creates a driver identity for you, to the "Glory Road" parade of displayed cars from famous drivers, to the gift shop, which has more square footage than many of the downtown restaurants within walking distance of this museum." - Nancy DePalma

Google
Visited North Carolina for the first time from California for Hendrick training and decided to stop by the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Definitely worth it. The museum has 4 levels packed with history, information, and legendary cars. The layout makes it easy to explore at your own pace and really soak in the sport’s heritage. The simulator experience was the highlight — super fun and surprisingly realistic. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Charlotte. A great mix of history and hands-on fun. 🏁🚗💨

Google
I just spent 3hrs in there and it was GREAT! I could have spent even longer, so if you want to see & do everything the NASCAR Hall of Fame has to offer, plan for the whole day. If you’re already a fan, you’ll learn stuff you didn’t know & for those new to NASCAR, you’ll come out of there knowledgeable in our sport. How it first began, along with Junior Johnson’s moonshine days, interactive experiences, to getting to feel the pavement from numerous different tracks. Depending on what ticket you buy, you get a lanyard with your own hard card, unlimited times in the simulator, and more! Don’t worry about lunch, The Pit Stop Cafe has an awesome BBQ sandwich I’d recommend. Upon leaving, you’ll go through The Gear Shop, where you’ll find a variety of options for a fantastic souvenir. An amazing set-up from floor to floor, clean restrooms, and friendly staff. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and sorry no drinks allowed inside. Enjoy!

Google
We traveled all the way from Hungary, and visiting the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte was absolutely worth it! The exhibits, the atmosphere, and the passion for racing are beyond amazing. You can truly feel the heart and history of NASCAR in every detail. A dream come true for any fan unforgettable experience!

Google
As a motorsport fan, this place is a must see. Absolutely fantastic and full of awesomeness. I had the tour and was given the pleasure of David - a man who knows pretty much everything about MASCARAS history. I cannot offer enough superlatives about him - what an amazing fellow and hopefully he remains at NHoF for a long time! I will be back to visit again!!

Google
Was traveling through Charolette NC and this event came up on a search. I’m not really a “NASCAR” fan…I do like fast cars so I’m going to do my best to describe this place to you. Its definitely worth checking out even if you are not into NASCAR. They have race cars and components so you can learn about different systems like transmissions, engines, etc.. This venue also goes into the history of NASCAR and how it initially started and then how it morphed into what is today. They have a simulator so you can sit in an actual racecar and drive it via a simulator. There are 3 floors of cars, displays, tributes to past drivers, etc.. My favorite was the Daytona Beach/Ormond Beach race track on the sand and the historical attributes. My favorite car was the 1939 Ford on display. Really cool even if you are not into NASCAR. Its worth a trip through this and you might want to consider it. Parking is super simple as its in the same building.

Google
We had a wonderful time at our company sponsored event! The simulator was very cool and the place was nice with plenty of things to see. John was awesome, checking in and making conversation with us regularly. He was so fun to talk to and so genuine! Highly recommend! Only struggle we had was finding the entrance since we originally entered Buffalo Wild Wings but that’s a super small blip. Great experience overall.

Google
10/10! Everyone had a great time! We were traveling cross country with a camper. If you have a larger vehicle that will not fit in a parking garage, I highly recommend you call NASCAR and they will help get you right into a parking lot. This was educational, interactive and the staff were so kind. They are willing to answer any questions. You will also appreciate the cafe on site. It’s typical cafe food. Everyone’s favorite activity was racing in the simulators. You get to practice in the qualifying room before hitting the race track. Fun for all ages! Highly recommend

Google
Exceeded expectations! We are not big NASCAR fans but took my nephews to see the cars and all had a great time! Super well done, lots to see and do. Definitely do the race simulation and the pit stop! Many fun touches like taking your photo and choosing favorite drivers. Fun place to visit on a hot or rainy day for a few hours.

Yelp
If you are a NASCAR fan this is one place you don't want to miss! So fun! So much memorabilia to see and after some practice qualifying laps, you have to drive I. The simulator! That was a total blast! So much to see and do, fun for everyone who likes speed!

Yelp
What an awesome venue! I don't know too much about racing but having been to the NASCAR Hall of Fame was already a great experience in itself. We were welcomed into this historic venue next to the Charlotte Convention Center and were greeted by a warm staff. The lobby was surrounded by race cars leading up and around to the next floor. The middle of the lobby was prepared with quick bites for our conference. In addition, the indoor theater was nicely cooled and we got to watch a short movie on the birth of NASCAR. This facility was clean and the top floor opens up to the Crown Ballroom of the Charlotte Convention Center. Overall, it was an awesome experience to be able to even step foot here - even for someone who knows very little about NASCAR.

Yelp
Not the biggest fan of NASCAR so can't say I fully got the enjoy the experience here. However, it is fair to say that there was a lot to do! Various simulations, tons of interactive experiences, and lots and lots of model cars of past winners and a whole lot more! NOTE: my review is a 3/5 merely cause it wasn't my cup of tea. However, for those that do enjoy the sport this will easily be a 4-5 star with the variety of activities and fan services available
google avatar

Yelp
Great experience for hard-core racing fans, casual fans or those just curious to learn about NASCAR, how it began and where it's going. There are alot of interactive experiences for you to take part of, to include a racing simulator. Plan on spending a few hours here, because there is that much to see and do. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online before hand and opt for the complete experience. You are able to access the gift shop without touring the facility, which is a nice plus for those that are in the area and just want to grab a souvenir.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know much about race cars but it's a fun attraction for sure. They have simulators for people to try. I crashed into the wall during practice and the actual simulation drive lol. The museum is full of history regarding the race car drivers, trophies and their stories. Good place for adults and kids to check it out.
google avatar

Robert P.

Yelp
At first I didn't think I'd enjoy, I admit to not being a huge NASCAR fan, but I really enjoyed the museum. The history and displays are well thought out and presented. Car racing is such a part of American culture and this Museum displays are fun to look thru.. Butttt the Racing Simulator is Big Big fun, pay the extra couple if bucks, and enjoy trying to drive a NASCAR. The People working there all seemed to be genuine NASCAR fans and These People really really help to make the experience enjoyable. The Museum needs to understand there Staff is a huge positive addition to the Visitor experience .

Yelp
2 ladies here - 36 and 16. We came to town for a Billie Eilish concert and this was next door to our hotel. We know NOTHING about Nascar. My daughter loves cars though. We spent 3 hours in here and did not stop at the food place. We saw the little show about the history and I loved the pride. We looked at everything. The interactive parts were the best. I highly recommend this place!!! I am someone who knows a car goes forward and reverse and this is a steering wheel. Simple basic stuff only. I am thankful for my husband and father who always come to my car rescue LOL Even I found this place amusing and entertaining and informative. My daughter and I did the simulation. It was fun and competitive. We completed the pit stop simulation in 24 seconds. Anyone can find something. And you must take your picture with Lighting McQueen
google avatar

Yelp
Staff is phenomenal, senior discounts, Wonderful interactive experience, I am not into nascar, but loved the history and the interactions

Yelp
Although I'm not a NASCAR fan, I still enjoyed the museum especially the exhibit about the mechanics of a NASCAR race and the racing simulator even though I've struggled with the simulator. Overall, the museum is a must when visiting Charlotte even if you're not a NASCAR fan.
google avatar

Yelp
A bit pricey but something cool to do at least once. I was rather surprised that parking was $20 (maybe even $25, I can't remember for sure now. Expensive either way.) There's lots to see and read about for fans of the sport. Even those casually browsing could find something to appreciate, I'm sure. Watching people do the racing or pit stops simulators was fun. The waits were a bit long, but we visited on a weekend. If you have the time to really check everything out, it is worth the price, but if you're just passing through, maybe not. I loved the Hall of Fame room with the info about the drivers and the features for the newest inductees. Carl Edwards' clips were playing while we were in there, and as one of my favorite drivers, that was really cool to watch. You could go to any of the booths and listen to the clips for each driver individually as well. All in all, I would like to come back someday to really take more time to look at everything. I just can't see it being often with the cost.

Yelp
Beautiful facility with lots to see and do. Don't miss the guided tour. Very informative and entertaining.

Yelp
This place was easily my favorite attraction in Charlotte. I am not even a fan of this sport and I enjoyed going here. NASCAR has been around over 75 years. This place honors famous drivers, owners, broadcasters and crew chiefs. As soon as you enter, you will see the Glory Road, which showcases 18 cars and tracks from throughout the sport's history. The next floors feature some of the following: -The Hall of Honor, which has displays for all the inductees -A race car simulator and a pit crew simulator, which is great fun for the kids -Glass enclosed cases which display decades worth of trophies, uniforms, newspaper articles, medals and more Their collection of everything is simply massive. And because it is a unique and one of a kind attraction, all visitors to Charlotte should definitely stop by.
google avatar

Yelp
The nascar hall of fame is really an experience that any race lover needs to have. I myself am not a race lover lol, but I was there to bring my son. He had the absolute best day ever there. He drove the simulation for three hours and was the last person at the museum. To say that he loved it there is a huge understatement. Such a wonderful collection of memorabilia and facts.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
For a signature big time Hall of Fame, Meh! More interesting memorabilia at Lancaster's BBQ in Mooresville. How do you have a NASCAR Hall of Fame and you don't have a (real) section for Richie Evans or any of the Northeast drivers. Geoff Bodine should've been in this Hall of Fame 10 years ago! Most of the uniforms and memorabilia have zero placards to indicate what their history was or years of use, or by who, nothing. I just expected more. But like NASCAR nowadays, as we progress in time there is a steep decline in creativity. First mistake is having the damn Hall of Fame in the middle of a downtown city. Who was the genius that thought that was a good idea.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best museums I have ever been to! My son and I bought the $49 package which entitles you to admission, stimulator experience (not to miss!), meal voucher and a $10 credit in the gift shop. It's the best deal in my opinion. First, the museum has thousands of artifacts and many, many interactive exhibits. There are lots of things to do for children as well. We went the day after Christmas when the doors opened up at 10 AM and there weren't many people there until around 11:30 or 12. I think my son read everything there was to read and it took us a good 3 hours to go through the museum. The meal voucher includes an entre, chips and a drink. You get three choices: hotdog, hamburger or a BBQ sandwich. For those of you that read my reviews you know what I chose: BBQ sandwich. Now, let me tell you, I am no fan of Carolina BBQ but fortunately, the one they served was without that nasty vinegar-based BBQ sauce but rather without sauce and was quite good They had individual Sweet Baby James sauce cups. It was actually pretty good and an ample portion on my sandwich. I highly recommend going to the museum. Don't miss it if you are anywhere close to Charlotte and have at least a minimal interest in NASCAR racing. It is really a nice experience that highlights not only the members of the Hall of Fame but also the technical aspects of racing and most all other aspects of NASCAR as well.

Yelp
If you are not a big NASCAR fan, the HOF is still a fun visit. When younger, use to look in on a few racers and some of the stars at times but not recently. Fun to see some of the older cars, the banked track, the simulator and history.
google avatar

Cecilia M.

Yelp
This was a very cool experience. Too bad we did not have time to tour the entire museum. We did do the virtual race and that was fun.
google avatar

Kaylyn S.

Yelp
The NASCAR Hall of Fame was a recommended "must do" by friends for our trip to Charlotte. Although we haven't watched NASCAR in years, this museum is filled with a lot of history, so we knew most of the "players" in the Hall of Fame and exhibits. There are several interactive things to do (e.g. pit stop, simulator, etc.), some of which cost extra, some don't. We did have a great time and spent about 2.5 hours there. Two recommendations for management - 1) More seating throughout the facility. There were times one of us wanted to sit and rest for a bit while the other read exhibits. 2) A coat check would be great! In the winter it is nice and toasty inside, so winter coats are not necessary, and the coats are very cumbersome to carry around. We would have liked to have taken pictures, but couldn't because our hands were full.
google avatar

Lisa N.

Yelp
Great time very interesting not knowing much about NASCAR I was educated on the history of NASCAR and the driving a simulator was a blast
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
I forgot to check in - BUT I PROMISE I VISITED THE NASCAR HALL OF FAME! And even though I know nothing about nascar, and was frankly disinterested in nascar, I now have a new respect for the sport and I learned A LOT! We bought the general admission tickets - with hard pass (it's free with general admission - make sure you get one). There are tons of selfie spots!!! And the staff truly love nascar and helping you experience everything!!! The hard pass allows you to do lots of interactive elements inside the museum. The museum is not large but it covers a tremendous amount of history. I would say even if you read all the plaques this wouldn't take more than 4 hours. We spent 90 minutes and felt we saw and experienced the whole thing! We loved the broadcasting exhibit it is very interactive. (We did not have time to see the movie - so I can't speak to how long that would have taken). I highly recommend this museum.
google avatar

Kokakolaut T.

Yelp
We flew in for a work trip and as we're driving our first day we happen to notice the NASCAR all thing we had to make a stop and boy I'm glad we did. It was really fun to go down memory lane with all the past and prison drivers and see the history and also I kicked my coworkers but in the racing challenge and the pit crew challenge it was pretty fun to do if I ever get a chance to take my family back out that way we will be visiting.
google avatar

Ripcalifornia ..

Yelp
Great museum, honors the sport with tons to look at. Really appreciated the more obscure cars like the goodys dash Celica or the pintys series dodge. Don't bother paying for the sim package you're just going to get wrecked over and over again by some 8 year old. Not worth the money or 20-30 minutes of waiting since you won't even get off the pace lap lol. Just play iracing at home
google avatar

Bethany H.

Yelp
As my boyfriend and I rated it: 5/5, must do, cool cars, cool history, and cool simulator! And sensory friendly! Even though I'm not a big "fan" of Nascar (aka I know nothing about it besides that cars race around the track to win). This place was absolutely amazing. You first walk in and have to buy the tickets, we got Combo #1 which included the general admission, the pass for all-day simulator rides, and the lanyard key pass. The combo was about $35 per person (I think?) You learn all about the history of how racing and Nascar came about, some of the major key developers through the years, and can go through the exhibits of the Hall of Fame, inside of the cars, the beginning of racing to even today's racing. For the Disney Pixar Cars fans: you'll see a very friendly face at the museum on the second floor, and can take lots of pictures with him too! The real driver that inspired the 'fabulous Doc Hudson' is Herb Thomas, you'll see his stuff throughout the museum but not a lot. They've also got the car that resembles Dinoco's The King, down on the main floor. Absolutely amazing to have the racing simulator and a pit challenge as if you were really one of the pit crew. The simulator was absolutely amazing! You can choose which car you want, and you drive against 14 people. I'm not the best at racing, but my strategy was 'don't die' and somehow I ended up in second place (which was pretty amazing I didn't crash besides when I was hit once). Definitely worth the trip if you're in the area, a local, or doing a road trip! We came on Saturday around 10 am/11 am, and it wasn't too packed but not too empty. Also for anyone who needs this info - they are a sensory-inclusive location, they have several areas throughout the whole museum with quiet rooms, signs for headphones in noisy areas, and a few other signs that were smaller areas for close proximity. I absolutely loved that they have these signs and a sign on the front door as well. Parking - they've got the parking garage right around the corner from it. They've got the inside of the elevator labeled, and even floor signage on how to get ti the museum. (Definitely appreciated that since I'm not the best with directions).
google avatar

Li Yang Y.

Yelp
Was a amazing Meuseum for car geeks or anyone that just likes racing. The racing simulator was amazing and fun. There were many many interactive activities around the Museum. My only complaint is that the gift shop items were a little overpriced but it's literally the same as other Museums so that's why my review is still 5 stars.
google avatar

Reggie H.

Yelp
It was another thing I crossed of bucket list. They have interactive display. For extra $5 you can drive race car simulator. I finished second out of 7. I started last. Lol. Kids welcome

Annie W.

Yelp
Not a nascar car fan but stopped by to check it out and learn more about it. First interaction made the rest of the experience a little sour. Ticketing person said the driving simulator was down when it wasn't, and the people in the learning lab looked at me like I had a third eye and ignored me. Can't tell if the workers are just not that friendly or they're not thrilled to work there. Place is probably more interesting for kids and actual nascar fans since it does have some interactive displays. It's something to do for 1-2 hours in Charlotte on top of paying $22 for parking
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
Had the greatest time ever exploring this historical museum of cars. Four floors of racing exhibits that are engaging and interactive. Many unique photo opportunities. The twelve minute movie answered a lot of my questions. The cafe has small bite offerings and the gift shop is FULLY loaded. Lol.
google avatar

Eric J.

Yelp
Wanna go fast!?!? Well, save it for the track! You will want to take your time exploring the NASCAR Hall of Fame! If you're in Charlotte and have any affinity for NASCAR or Motorsports, this needs to be on your list! There was an INCREDIBLE amount of content to take in and experience, way more than I anticipated!!! This place has a vast amount of history, coupled with interactive exhibits and offerings. I was pleasantly surprised by the different portions of NASCAR and it's history that the HOF covers, it exceeded my expectations!

J K.

Yelp
Excellent museum with wonderful interactives. I am not even a NASCAR fan, but I had such a great time. Everything from the history of how NASCAR started (moonshine in the south) to the components of a race car. They have a racing simulator that is worth going to just alone. Overall, this is an excellent place to spend a few hours; even if you're not a NASCAR fan.
google avatar

Mick B.

Yelp
An excellent way to spend a day for the NASCAR fan or anyone with an interest in auto racing or sports. A large number of displays and interactive exhibits. Really a little something for everyone. Reasonably priced admission and discounts for children and seniors.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Our recent trip to Charlotte included a visit to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Very impressive display of car racing history, memorabilia and interactive activities for anyone interested in NASCAR, past or present. I especially enjoyed the early history displays, be sure not to miss Junior Johnson's still on the top floor! Thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent there. Parking was easy, right next door in the garage.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
We had a five hour layover at the Charlotte airport so we took a cab to NASCAR hall of Fame. They had a interactive game where you drive a simulator and compete against 11 other people. I came in tenth because I could not figure out how to shift. It is a definite must. They have a variety of cars and memorabilia relating to racing. The place is absolutely gorgeous. It is a definite must if you have the time while in Charlotte.
google avatar

Edward A.

Yelp
Very interesting place. Organized to get people in and out in an orderly fashion. The down side is waiting to get on the simulator. There should not be a way to expedite when there's big groups . You may have to wait for over an hour. Over all nice place with awesome history in racing .
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
Knowing nothing about NASCAR our group rolled in here on a rainy Memorial Day weekend. The museum was totally worth the twenty five bucks. Great staff rear gave very positive attention to a special needs kid we had with us.
google avatar

Art T.

Yelp
You know... I'm not really big into motor sports, especially NASCAR. I used to follow it a bit more as a kid, especially stuff like Formula 1. Those cars were so cool to me back then. But, yeah, not really my thing anymore. We found ourselves in Charlotte on a Saturday with not much to do and nothing we really wanted to see. So, we thought we'd check out the HOF anyway. For a casual observer, $25 wasn't too bad honestly. At first, we thought it was just the 'ring of honor' or whatever it's called, the two semi-circles of cars you can kind of see from the outside. We were like, "uh... that's it?" But, that was BEFORE we saw all the other exhibits that were kind of hidden behind all that. :) Yeah, we're sharp... LOL! Anyway, once we figured that out, there are actually several floors of exhibit space with a LOT of artifacts and history to look over. We ended up making a solid day of it there, even though no one in our party was a real big fan. It was still pretty cool, and there was a lot to do with the initial admission price. For instance, there was a basic simulator, a few minutes of a kind of video game race track experience. There was also the pit crew simulator, which was hands-on, and really fast-paced. These were included in the admission price, so, not too shabby! There are a LOT of cars there on display, including some really old and really new ones. They cover basically the entire run of the sport. There's a 12-minute video that plays every 30 minutes about the history of NASCAR, which was interesting and well made. It's all very impressive, and that's from someone who's not deep into the sport. If you're a fan, I'm sure you'll dig it even more than we did. If you're not a fan, it's still worth checking out. Just don't give up after walking into the initial space. It keeps going, trust me. ;)
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
Only stopped in to get a few things for my dad who loves NASCAR, but I can tell by the HUGE smiles by the grown men walking in, this place is up there in Disneyland or wherever a person fancies the pinnacle of places to visit, this is the The Louvre Museum of NASCAR. This is literally the s*** of car racing museum, I think, honestly I don't know. I'm not a fan or an expert on NASCAR, but I can tell you the dudes walking in had smiles bigger than the 24 ounce big beers they sport in hand post museum when they hit up the Buffalo Wild Wings attached to the museum. If you're a racing fan, this is probably pretty cool to see.
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
Totally not what we expected. Not sure what they hype was here. We live near INDY so was expecting a lot more here then what we got. They had a car "ride" experience but that was about all we saw. A ton of info to stand and read, but nothing really hands on. With 6000 people trying to get thru the exhibit, it wasn't much fun.
google avatar

Clif M.

Yelp
Wonderful place. If you are a nascar fan you would enjoy it, all the history of NASCAR, the cars that was used to race, the cars and the other things related to nascar. The is a cool simulator, it felt like you was really racing, I came 5th out 14 drivers. If you are not a nascar fan you might still find it interesting
google avatar

Annette B.

Yelp
There is a lot of history here and so much variety in terms of what is displayed. I didn't have any interest in the QR codes and "hands-on" exhibits, but I had a nice time walking through the collection.
google avatar

Tonya J.

Yelp
We had an absolutely amazing time here. About $ 80+ for 3 people with 2 of our tickets being discounted military. There are packages you can purchase to include a simulator ride. Very interactive. You get a card to scan at the stations for more information or to activate the kiosks. You can take a picture and get your face and name on the large jumbo screen with your favorite drivers you select underneath your picture welcoming you. There was a simulator qualifier, the real thing and a timed pit crew simulator. Super cool museum to view the history of NASCAR, owner and driver history. Amazing time for all.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
This is a superb museum that charts the modest early history of stock car racing to what it is today, and talks about all of the people that made it happen. Lots of memorabilia and significant cars. There are some hands on activities like learning to pit stop a car and there is a racing simulator. The simulator is $5 for a single go, or $14 for unlimited. I purchased the single and was satisfied as there is a lot to go through and I didn't want to get bogged down on a single thing. This is a must if you enjoy motorsports.

Yelp
First time here. This place is amazing and not badly priced for what you get to see and do. Lines were long but there was the concert there and it is summer. This is for sure a place I'll go back to. This is a place that you need to visit to really understand what it is. NASCAR fan or not, this is worth it.

Yelp
I came back to NC for my nephews high school graduation. My friends from Knoxville, TN came to visit as well. One of my friends watches NASCAR and wanted to go to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. My Dad nor I had ever been so I purchased us the Combo 2 tickets and we went. I got five tickets but my Brother wasn't able go and NASCAR gave me a refund. I thought this was really nice. We walk in and since Combo 2 includes pictures we took four different pictures. The photos were great and I love the NASCAR backgrounds in the pictures. I didn't realize the Hall of Fame had three levels, four if you include the private VIP area. It contained a lot of history and lots of cars. We loved the Interactive Experiences and the videos. My friends did the Pit Crew challenge and we all did the Racing Simulators. I came in second place but first place in my group. We definitely had fun and learned a lot about NASCAR.

Yelp
There are a lot of cool things to see within the building, but I found to be very expensive. The history of Nascar video that is planned in the auditorium skips over some critical elements to the spotters history and seems to be more of a highlight reel. Give yourself some time to walk around and see all the exhibits. There is fun for all ages and 2 separate driving simulators, 1 included with the basic ticket and the other cost a bit more. Overall a good time. I left a bit more knowledgeable on certain aspects of the sport.

Yelp
Great experience! I didn't even know 1 NASCAR drivers name and never followed NASCAR and we had a down day in the city and decide to check it out. Best decision. The staff was next level amazing, and the hall of fame itself was so well layed out that even the novice like myself really enjoyed it. They also are very military friendly which is a plus for us!

Yelp
Ranked as the #1 thing to do in Charlotte, I gave in and paid $27 to experience the hype. I think is more for Nascar enthusiasts unlike what some reviews I read saying you will enjoy this even if not a fan. The building shape is interesting, some of the car displays are cool, but that's about it. Unless you are truly into the history of racing, this can get boring after looking at a few cars. The one highlight was seeing the Pixar red car 'Rusteez.' They have a theater that plays a film about the history of Nascar, but I almost fell asleep. lol As for interactive things, there is one where you can be part of a 'pit crew' and go through that process. There was another one for cars, but a long line. I went one weekday morning and there were a swarm of middle schoolers jumping all over the place and running into people. Not sure what the age limit is here but I expected there to be more supervision given the car displays. I think I was done with the museum within an hour. They offer a military discount, but no student discount. They close early too (5pm) so if you are working then there is really no option to visit during the week. BW3 is a connected bar. They have elevators for guests if you cannot take the stairs. There is also a gift shop near the exit. Overall, ok museum if you are very interested in Nascar, otherwise I'd skip it.

Yelp
A lot to do, recommend the movie and the racing exhibit. Being on the Pit crew did not look all that exciting. They also gave us the military discount. They have parking next door to this location.

Yelp
Overall a good hall of fame. It offered plenty to see and learn. I wish it had more interactive parts to it as it only had a few but the race simulator was very fun! Takes about 90 minutes to get through it at a medium pace.

Yelp
As a lifelong NASCAR fan, the Hall of Fame is great! I came here during a business trip but really wish I had my family because there are some great activities for kids and adults. Tons of great history on display. The registration process for the interactive card is a bit intrusive but will enhance some of the displays. The location in downtown Charlotte is nice and close to several restaurants. If you are a diehard or casual fan this place is a must visit.
