Nascar Hotel, Santa Maria di Navarrese, Sardinia - Explore & Book

"Come here for lazy days on a lovely beach, for boat trips up the spectacular coast, for the odd diversion into mysterious hills and for some seriously good food in the restaurant. This is a family affair with 3 sisters at the helm: Stefania and Claudia look after guests, Loretta, a fisherwoman, heads out to sea to catch your supper. It’s a perfect spot for 3 or 4 days. After a delicious breakfast in the garden you amble down to the beach, grab a sunbed, roast away, swim in crystal-clear waters, then retreat to a lovely old café for a spot of lunch. Boat trips into the Golfo di Orosei take in soaring cliffs and deserted beaches and leave from the small harbour every day. This a hassle-free destination and a charming one at that - more 1960s than 21st century. As for the hotel, it sits 200m back from the village beach with wicker armchairs and sofas scattered about its attractive front garden, an open-air sitting room shaded by tall trees. Inside, 12 whitewashed rooms are just the ticket: not overly fancy but rather lovely nonetheless, with colourfully tiled bathrooms and extremely comfy beds. Some have French windows that open onto tiny balconies, while a couple have big shaded terraces. Finally, the history lesson: the daughter of the king of Navarre survived a shipwreck here in 1052 and built a church in thanks, dedicating it to Santa Maria di Navarra, hence the village’s name. It stands opposite in the shade of an olive tree, which is thought to predate the church. Highs The food is divine, the best we ate on the island by miles and miles and miles Everything you want to do is on your doorstep The village beach, 200m from the hotel, is a cracker Boat trips to the magnificent Golfo di Orosei leave from the village harbour Golgo, the mountain behind, is easy to get to and full of strange wonders Lows The Classic Rooms have no balcony and limited views, but they are the quietest rooms A little pricey for somewhere without a pool - but it's a very popular spot and the restaurant is excellent In April and October the restaurant is sometimes closed (check when booking) Over 12s only and no extra beds, so best suited to couples or friends" - Tom Bell

Lovely family run hotel in one of the cutest place in East Sardinia. The building is charming, the rooms are spacious and decorated with a lovely taste. Breakfast is solid and the position couldn't be better: 20 mt from the beautiful Bay of Arbatax. Plus: the restaurant is just super. Lovely space outside, in a beautiful garden. Food is delicious and the service is super warm. This is a place to be if you want to treat yourself :-) Very recommended!

Amazing hotel, just a few steps from the beach with sun loungers and umbrellas at your disposal. The staff are absolutely wonderful – so friendly and always ready to help. They gave us tons of great tips and really know the area, which made our stay even more special. Very good breakfast!

Nascar Hotel is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It’s a family owned business located near the beach. The building was finally restored and developed into a superb and elegant hotel complimented by the worm and generous personality of Claudia, Laura and Stefania who are the true expressions of the Sardinian personality: honest, caring and so naturally keen to make you feel Very Welcome like part of their own family. Everywhere is a display of their personality and is almost like the building itself is extending a their warmness. Everywhere you go there is a special detail and the cleanliness is above any hotel we visited including the 5 stars we stayed around the world. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the food outstanding, cakes, biscuits are baked by the family and there is so much attention to every detail. The beach is only crossed the road and obviously being in Sardinia you don’t need a swimming pool. They provide you with towels and chaise lounge and ombrella and you can enjoy the tranquility of a gorgeous beach. We will never be able to thank them enough for making us feel so comfortable We can’t wait to go back again

This family run hotel was a real find and we loved it so much that we extended our stay for an extra night. From the moment we arrived Claudia, sister Stefania and cousin Laura could not do enough for us. We ate in the restaurant which served great food and the service was good too. The choice of freshly cooked food at breakfast along with all the other options was extensive and delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to return one day.

Stefania and her family have restored one of the oldest buildings in this village into a very lovely 12 room boutique hotel. Top notch customer service and attention to each guest needs. We had a lovely time, expert advice on where to go and what to do along with arranging for a private boat charter for the day. Just lovely people all around, excellent customer service, staff was super accommodating. Highly recommend.

Hostess's said they have no room for dinner as we need to have a reservation. So we asked if we could have drinks, so we did. Then 15 min later a family walks in and waitress asked if they have a reservation and they said no. Then waitress asked her colleagues and gave them a table to sit. And mind you restaurant is more than half empty. If this was my restaurant I would never say no to a paying customer. Not very fair.

The hotel is a small boutique with 10+ rooms, family owned, family managed with a great staff. It is close to the beach with free access to a private part of the beach. Well organized and really a great place to stay. We booked a junior suite which was perfect, well kept and decorated.||The management offered a transfer to the boat rental with her car, an unexpected but highly appreciated hospitality. She also booked us the best rib in town.||The quality of the breakfast service and the best scrambled eggs and crispy bacon ever, cannot go without mention.||Really a lovely place to stay and enjoy the middle of the east coast.

Yelp
If you ever find yourself motoring around the less touristy end of Sardinia, drive through the small town of Santa Maria Navarrese just to check out the over and above, friendly service and beautifully prepared food at Hotel Nascar Restaurant. An adorable little town right on the water and a superb restaurant in a redone hotel occupying one of the oldest buildings in Santa Maria. One of the owners took our orders and served us herself, taking the time to give us a short history of the city and the building itself. The atmosphere was relaxing and classy and we truly enjoyed just pointing out all the unique antiquities of the old building. The food is local and fresh and very seafoody with some great little extras. The wine collection is great and her recommendations was wonderful. A relaxing evening topped off with a delicious meal! I would definitely recommend to "go out of the way" if you're in Arbatax or Tortola. Theres more atmosphere here than those two larger cities.
