We had such an amazing mid-week lunch at Nasinneula. Here is what happened for us on our visit to this wonderful restaurant. To start, the ride up the elevator was a fun disco dance experience, then we were greeted by the staff and shown where to hang our coats, and they walked us to a window-view table. When my friend read the lunch menu she was sad to see there was no tasting menu, as she was hoping to order that for us. We asked the waitress about the tasting menu, and she informed us that it started at 3:00 pm and it was only 1:00, we asked if would ask the chef if they would be willing to do a tasting menu for us, we were so pleased when they said, yes! We had no idea what would be coming and we were excited to see as it arrived. The waitress asked for any aversions or preferences. I was shy to say I didn’t like fish and just hoped for the best. Again to my surprise, the chef created different appetizers and main courses for me (beef) and my friend (fish). Here is what we ate in the five courses:
Roasted parsnip soup, I have never had anything like it and I think it was one of the best soups I have EVER eaten
For me, sliced deer meat and layered carrots which were so elegantly prepared, and my friend had salmon, roe, and cauliflower puree
The main course was two cuts of beef, expertly prepared with cabbage stem cube
Pre-desert of parsnip ice cream, who ever heard of that? But, yummmmm
Chocolate mouse with an almond cream
I think this restaurant should be aligning itself for a Micheline Star. They were so ready and willing to accommodate and every bite of food was carefully prepared with love, new and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner and drinks for any occasion. I hope I find myself back in Tampere and at Nasinneula. Thank you for a wonderful meal!
