The 12 Best Things to Do in Natchez, Mississippi in 2025

"I recommend visiting during the spring Natchez Pilgrimage when many private historic homes open to the public; costumed guides (some descendants of original owners) explain the homes' histories and family stories. It's the city's biggest annual event and typically features about 20 homes, giving a rare chance to see interiors and hear first-person histories." - Matthew Kepnes

Great tours, we did the 3 house tour and especially liked that you can use the tickets in whichever day you like, it really helped mitigate some of the rainy and hot/muggy days! Tour guides were fantastic and they obviously live doing what they do, great tour through antebellum Natchez!

Bought our tickets online and had three wonderful tours (Rosalie, Stanton Hall and Longwood). Highly recommend this option.

My husband and I were thrilled to learn so much history and enjoy the beautiful surroundings as we toured some of the houses.

We enjoyed our visits to four homes in Natchez. The website was easy to use. the ticket information was relayed to the houses so they were expecting us. One house moved us back an hour but that was good because we were not in with a bus load of folks from the riverboat! Dinner at Magnolia Hall was delicious and we enjoyed meeting people from Georgia and Texas

We are from Michigan and found Natchez while doing an internet search of things to do in Mississippi. I was a little worried on how much the family would like it as we didn’t know what to expect but they absolutely loved the tours. In general the town is definitely on the older side but the home tours were amazing. We had the opportunity to tour Longwood and Stanton Hall. Longwood was an extremely impressive house and the stories of the family were very interesting. We also really enjoyed the tour guide, Micah, at Stanton Hall. He gave an amazing tour with so much information on the history of the family along with knowledge on the interior design, furniture, etc… We stayed a few miles outside of town at Brandon Hall which was probably the highlight. This is also a pre Civil War era home and the quiet location was amazingly peaceful. We were able to walk the grounds and chat with the super friendly owner. The flowers were also blooming and made for awesome pictures around the property.

I have made numerous trips to Natchez and have taken many tours of the homes. I have never been disappointed in the service I have received at the Visitor Center when purchasing my Natchez Pilgrimage Tour tickets. The tours have always been very informative and enjoyable. I have recommended a trip to Natchez to many friends. I am looking forward to my next trip.

There are so many beautiful homes in Natchez. I'm not sure how anyone could plan a trip there without the Natchez Pilgrimage Tours website! It was so helpful and the tours we booked were unforgettable. I highly recommend a trip to Natchez and using this website as a resource.

Don't pay for your tickets at the visitor center, go to each location they are cheaper! Also if you do the Rosalie tour make sure you get there a good 15 minutes before the start time, there was a group of 7 that were waiting outside the house at 9:58 and apparently they had already taken in the 10:00 AM tour, after 20 minutes of waiting we finally tracked someone down and they said they had already started the 10:00 AM tour and that we would have to wait another 40 minutes (in the intense heat) to do the 11:00 AM tour, also they DON'T run every 1/2 hour as the visitor center states, Rosalie tours are only every hour! Stanton Hall is gorgeous inside and out, Longwood is neat but kind of disappointing since it isn't finished
