5 Adaptive Winter Sports Programs in the U.S.

"Located minutes from Park City Mountain and Deer Valley Resort, this program takes participants to both mountains and uses instructors trained in a wide range of adaptive techniques—2-track through 4-track, mono- and bi-ski, snow slider, ski bike, snowboarding, and guiding for low-vision or blind skiers. It serves people with intellectual disabilities and those who are deaf or hard of hearing, and many participants go on to try summer offerings like horseback riding, biking, and trekking." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. The NAC was an amazing facility to work with! Everyone was extremely kind, professional, positive, and went out of their way to ensure that our group had a great time. All of their facilities and programming were completely inclusive and well run. We were incredibly impressed with the organization and safety provided by the team at the challenge course. Mathu was our group lead and we had a blast working with him! We could not have asked for a better weekend. Thank you NAC Team!!

This organization is incredible. We had an awesome time rafting the Colorado River. It was a little chilly for our poor little Florida bodies, but we survived. The National Ability Center went above and beyond with their commitment to accessibility. Even restricted to a wheelchair, due to injuries sustained in combat, they made sure to involve me and allow me to do everything that everyone else was doing. From pushing me along trails and paths that no wheelchair could handle to safely getting me in and out of the inflatable kayak, they did everything with the upmost safety and convenience that could be achieved. They allowed for my family to have a little break, while they handled everything, and just enjoy themselves. Thanks again for an awesome week!

This place has been great. They have so much patience and a variety of activities. I highly recommend this facility for children who may need assistance with doing tasks on their own.

NAC is so awesome!! Tracy, Brian, Megan and crew were the best!! I did the MOFO ride and my battery died on the way up Puke hill. They pushed me up and they helped me in spots all the way down!!! I also went over a couple of times and got a flat about a 1/2 mile from the gate. It was a crazy ride, but everyone was so helpful, so positive and just really good energy and vibes the entire time. Even though things didn't go as planned and it took us a little longer than we hoped, I had an amazing time and I credit that to the incredible, professional staff at the NAC. Thanks again for all your assistance and support!!

Wow, I can’t say enough great things about NAC Park City Ski. Right from the start they were friendly, patient and extremely helpful getting reservations set up online and over the phone. The staff when you arrive at the place is great, such a great vibe there. The instructors are friendly, patient, safety conscious, and extremely talented. The location is towards the right bottom of the mountain and we had to zig zag through the village to use the elevators to get there and there aren’t a lot of signs but everyone working in the ski village is so helpful in getting us to the right place. We will be back next ski season with NAC!
