Fantastic location Very convenient. However it is in the heart of the city and trams run all day and late into the evening so very very busy and noisy. If you are looking for peaceful and quiet sleep conditions this won't be for you. Beautiful hotel Amazing staff A great choice if in Bern

I am not coming back! Hotel not appreciate hard working staff! Location was great as much as staff. Receptionist Ana was very helpful and done everything to make our stay comfortable. Room is very dark, no ac, only window is for a courtyard. Was not possible to open the window overnight because of noises from other guests using courtyard. Sandra on breakfast was a absolute gem! She was ALONE serving breakfast with no help whatsoever. Selection was fair, but it was painful to watch how one person trying to organise everything over there. Quality of good was not really impressive (unwashed tomatoes and fruits, no fresh croissants, only bread was freshly baked). I have feeling that staff is working hard but nobody from management appreciates that!

Convenient location in the heart of the city close to the station. Ana on the reception desk was the first person we met in Switzerland and also the nicest person we met. Helpful, multilingual, intelligent, witty (and a Doctor Who fan!). Thanks you Ana for everything! Rooms were a bit warm at the time of year I visited and whilst we had a fan, this simply circulated the warm air. Breakfast was tasty although at peak times the staff were unable to clear tables and replenish food quickly enough (possibly understaffed?).

I had an unexpected stop here, after having to visit the Embassy in Bern this weekend. The hotel is in a superb location right in the centre. The room was fine, clean and comfortable. Breakfast, wifi and a travel ticket for the buses and trams was included, so I thought good value as well. The selling point is the staff though. On the day I arrived they helped me find my way around, and thanks to them I was able to enjoy swimming in the river with the thousands of locals taking advantage of the weather, and then have dinner watching the sunset over the city at the Rose Garden. I think it was Ana and Emma struggling on duty in the incredible heat wave. Above and beyond and to them I'm really grateful!

Attractive building with very clean, cosy, functional rooms at an exceptional position for non - driving visitors as it is very close to the main railway station and to numerous bus and tram lines. Near the old town of Bern and many of the town's attractions. Polite, very helpful, efficient staff. Rich, delicious breakfast. Highly reccommended to all visitors.

First the bad, the lock on our triple room at the 5th floor was not working. The staff initially was showing irritation that we were saying it was not working eventually she went up and checked and confirmed there was something wrong with it. She just said she will report it to management but well at leats we only stayed one night so not super big deal. The breakfast included was average and serviceable. The elevator was charming though very old school. It only goes up to the 4th floor so like us who stayed in the 5th we had to carry our luggage upstairs from the 4th to 5th floor. On the upside its very near Bern station so perfect location if you have plans to further travel in other cities in Switzerland.

Great value for your money. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. The hotel is at walking distance from the train station.

This grand old building is like a museum from yesteryear. Our experience from check-in to check-out was wonderful. Our room was huge - in fact, we had two bedrooms, which is probably uncommon, so we were just lucky. Many people's reviews complain about street noise (trams), but I think that's less of a problem in winter, maybe because of the triple-glazed windows which are kept closed. In the summer people tend to want to leave windows open (no air conditioning), and then the noise might be problematic. BTW, the receptionists issue ear plugs when you check in, but we didn't use it. The bed was super comfy, and the pillows were soft and dreamy. The 3-piece bathroom was well equipped. The room furnishings were basic, but in good condition, and functional. Breakfast was wonderful, with lots of continental food and beverage options on offer. The hotel is located within walking distance of the main station in Bern, and the old city (10 minutes either way). As a result of this location, visitors are surrounded by tourist attractions, public transport, restaurants, bars, shopping, super markets, and more.
