National Gallery of Modern Art

For people who appreciate Art, they should never miss this place in Delhi. Quite lot of places to cover inside as there are new wings made for more Art galleries. It'll take atleast an hour for one building/wing each because most of them have 5 floors to cover including the lower ground. Very beautiful and serene place. Photography isn't allowed for any paintings, so please make sure of that. Get tickets from the entrance, 30-40 INR for Indian Citizens.

The Gallery houses an impressive variety of Indian art — from 19th-century paintings to contemporary works, sculptures, photography, prints and mixed-media. You’ll get to see works by iconic artists (traditional and modern) style Entry fee for Indian adults is ₹20. Good visitor facilities: like a museum shop, a library/archive,wheelchair and lift for different floors neat & clean washrooms. the gallery provides a calm, peaceful and greener environment — a nice contrast to Delhi’s hustle. Wonderful space to just, be calm and observe art in its vivid form. I loved the entire complex and bought amazing portraits from the shop. One must go alone and definitely with companions who understand that this is not just an insta location but a deep space where your mind can just be free and unleash it's intricate form.

Nicely curated pieces, was privileged to get to see the Ghika Collection which was on display when I visited. However, better upkeep of the place is required with clear IN/OUT directions and arrows guiding through the space. It was sort of maze like. Got to see a variety of Indian art forms, nil representation from the North Eastern part. But overall, a highly enlightening experience.

The gallery has a huge collection of Indian modern art — from old masters to contemporary pieces. The space is quiet, well-organized, and gives you time to actually enjoy the art without rush. If you enjoy creativity, culture, or just want a break from the usual tourist spots, this place is totally worth it. 🎨🖼️

The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), housed in the elegant Jaipur House near India Gate, is one of the best places in Delhi for art lovers. It has a vast collection of over 17,000 works by iconic artists like Amrita Sher-Gil, Raja Ravi Verma, M. F. Husain, Jamini Roy, and more. The galleries are well-curated, tracing the journey of Indian art from the 1850s to the contemporary era. ✅ Pros: Affordable entry (₹20 for Indians), beautiful architecture, rich and diverse collection, free guided tours, peaceful ambience.

It's a great collection of modern art and paintings.....I spent more than two hours visiting the gallery spread in four floors of the building... Highly recommend for lovers of Indian art and culture...but photography inside the galleries not allowed and you will be tempted to visit again...

Had an absolutely wonderful time here! So much to learn about Indian art and how our art and culture have inspired the world over! Must visit!
