National Museum of Dance & Hall of Fame

We were visiting Saratoga Springs for the first time and decided to visit the National Museum of Dance. We are ballroom dancers and love the sport! This was so much fun! Dancers after dark was a great exhibit! The park is great too! Will come back again!

Very beautiful..everything was nicely displayed and the staff is very friendly. The children's interactive area is cool for any age. Enjoy and take your time there is lots of history of dance to admire.

A small museum but packed with information. The building itself has an interesting history. The exhibits are well laid out and engaging. The tour was informative and the docent clearly has a passion for dance which showed. We started much longer than we expected and enjoyed every second. Bonus was we came on a Tuesday which was free. Highly recommend going if you're in the area.

Very interesting and well put together museum. Lots of great facts on dance both traditional and modern. The exhibits are beautifully laid out. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have a wonderful, interactive children's area and cute gift shop.

Hosted my daughter's wedding 10/21/2017 at the museum! Ceremony in the gorgeous foyer, cocktails in the solarium and tented reception in the Courtyard! Jo was so helpful recommending Nicole's Catering and Clifton Park Rentals for tent, lighting, and farm tables! The wedding was over the moon beautiful..guests were raving over the food and ambience...and Jo helped us put it all together. Couldn't be happier...Thank you Jo!

This museum was great! There was lots for the adults to see and a great room for the kids to explore music and dance- truly wonderful, my kids had a blast playing instruments and trying on costumes and dance shoes, and then learning to dance in the "studio". Such a great place!

Such a cool place for a wedding! I loved everything about working here. These are some of our favorite wedding photos we have taken and we enjoyed being at this venue. The setting is perfect.

A friend's wedding reception is what brought me to the national museum of dance. The location is ideal if you are having guests stay over in Saratoga. The cocktail hour was hosted in the lobby. It is a small space. There were tables with snacks along the middle and a small table set up in the back as a bar. There was not much room for tables so we had to stand along the side and use the window ledge to hold our drinks. The service was great. The cocktail servers did a great job at bringing out snacks and making sure every guest was taken care of! The only thing I found strange was that the "bar" did not serve water. We had to wait until the reception started to get a glass of water. The reception hall was beautiful. It is the perfect venue for a small wedding. If you are planning to have more than 100 people at your event, I think it will be too small. The tables were a little tight which made it difficult to get in and out BUT everything was beautiful. Again, this wedding was the perfect size for this venue. I will not comment on the food since I am certain it was catered by an outside company. Overall, we had a great experience at the wedding and the venue was beautiful. If we plan to have a small wedding, this is a place I would consider!

I live in NYC so everything outside of the city pales in comparison (don't mean to sound sbobby!!!) This was a diversion for my daughter who is a student in Albany and me. We are not big dance enthusiasts so we enjoyed it enough for what is was.

Really enjoyed the Saturday Vinyasa Yoga class with Judy here. It's lovely that the museum offers classes onsite as another way to use the space. What a beautiful way to begin the wkend!

I feel like my friend should write this as it was her wedding that I attended there, but since I am sure as a newlywed she is busy, I am going to give my two cents worth. Coming from a guest, I cannot say how expensive this place is, but my friends had about 100 people in attendance to their October nuptials and this venue was fabulous. They had the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception here and it was a beautiful setting. It was very convenient for guests, parking was substantial and it was beautiful. There was an elegant and simple beauty to all parts of the celebration. There were enough bathrooms, even for the women. Though it was flat pouring rain outside, we were comfortable and happy inside. If I was having my wedding in Saratoga Springs in the Fall, I would definitely recommend The National Museum of Dance.

Last night I had the pleasure of visiting and as you walk in, visually the atrium is a stunner. Classic architecture as I had remembered. The permanent installation showing how the museum was conceived was very interesting. I had forgotten about Mr Swyer as I was young when I met him and had moved away during the time of his passing. The new programs are innovative, especially dance class for people with Parkinson's. I wish however, there was better care of the property itself. The wicker chairs at the entrance looked broken down and dirty and are in need of paint. The floor to ceiling windows when you walk are in need of a window washing. The sunlight shining through showcased how bad they were. This is the height of the season. And this was a networking event with great attendance. That was a bit disappointing. Also when the museum first opened, the landscaping was gorgeous and abundant with colorful flowers - something to really see, admire and enjoy. The event I attended was lively and excellent.
