National Museum of Fine Arts of Moldova

A beautiful, spacious, well-maintained national museum with fascinating exhibitions, that should be in every country. Thank you for creating and maintaining such a wonderful place, not just for tourists but for anyone who wants to experience culture and art. The prices are very affordable, the staff is very kind and helpful. There were so many beautiful exhibits, especially paintings. No more words, just look… Must have to visit.

This place is a true gem for art lovers. The creativity and skill showcased here are truly inspiring. Every corner offers something unique and beautiful that captures the imagination. The atmosphere is welcoming and encourages a deep appreciation of artistic expression.

Museum with excellent interior design, quite nice works of art and great price. It’s easy to see all of the collection, however it was hard to navigate around the building to see everything in the proper order. Would also love to buy some souvenirs like fridge magnets, postcards, guides and other books but there is no shop in the museum unfortunately. I didn’t know that there would be an Ivan Ajvazovsky painting tho!

Very nice selection especially of sculptures, though limited info about the pieces and artists. Still highly recommended for a glimpse of local art and culture.

This is a small but very cozy and easy to navigate museum. The collection is not big, but it is better this way because you can see the whole collection in less than two hours. There is a whole floor, dedicated to paint work by Moldavian and Romanian painters. There is also a lot of oil paint works produced by European painters. The funny thing is that majority of those paintings have no author. Here I’m talking about middle ages paintings. The selection of sculptures is extremely low. I get it that it’s a small country with low population, but this election is still too minimal and few.

The museum building is renovated, but the museum looks empty, there are not much paintings, fine arts and exhibitions. Besides that, there are paintings that can impress!

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. I had a wonderful 4-hours here, taking pictures and wondering about without being followed. I am absolutely surprised how extensive and beautiful the collection is. Definitely a great first stop while visiting Chisinau!
