National Museum of History

The only museum in Seychelles that portrays the history of the country is located at the heart of Victoria, right at the corner of where the clock is. For 150 SCR, you get to see a glimpse into the history of the nation. The museum has two floors and you go through different chambers, each focusing on one aspect of the country, from early days of colonisation to the modern era. Expect to be here for about an hour or so.

If you want to know how it all began then it is well documented in this beautiful museum… from pirates 🏴‍☠️ to slaves from slaves to Queens from Queens to freedom for the Seychellen… extremely interesting if you like your history…..

Come visit to learn about the storied history of Sesel. I found the museum informative if a little small but still charming. There is a cafe on the grounds for a pit stop if you want tea coffee or a light meal.

The absolute must-see if you're truely interested in the history of the Seychelles. Very informative and designed and made with heart! The staff was absolutely friendly and helpful, too! We loved the building and it's various sections. Although it is small, we were amazed of the given informations and presentation. Definitely visit it!

Great museum covering the history of Seychelles as well as typical clothing. Impressive building and nice display of items of interest. Absolutely worth a visit, not only if bad weather prevents you from going to a beach.

Definitely a place to visit when in Victoria the place offers treasures of information and insight into the history of Seychelles. It’s looked after and run by very helpful and efficient staff.

Interesting small museum, entrance was 150 rupi,there are 2 floors. You can find old pirate' map, models of the first village, portraits of famous people, old clothes and more. You will able learn all history of Seychelles.There is good gift shop, toilet. Near the museum is cafe with tasty chisecake
