I took both my sons here on January 3rd 2025. We all absolutely loved it. What an amazing, relaxing and joyful place to be. My two boys were running around loving life and the waterfalls were stunning. Very well kept Gardens. Shame about the gigantic trees that had come down. We will definitely be visiting again in Spring. We'll done to all that keep this place as nice as it is. A***

Wonderful National Trust garden covering 80+ acres. Enormous number of tree species including several 'national champions'. Extensive paths weave through the gardens providing a wealth of vistas at each turn. Three cafes serving food and drinks. Ample parking. Well worth a visit!

Lovely afternoon out here 😀 we're amazed by the size of the gardens. Good size cafe, plenty of choice, and another at the bottom of the gardens for light refreshments and ice cream 🍦 Good information boards dotted around family history, etc. At the end of the gardens tour, there is a good-sized garden centre. We spent 3/4 hr visit. Good grounds for children to play and run free 🙌

What a gem. This is a must for nature lovers. Spend anywhere between a minimum of 2 hours to easily 4 taking walks through such beautiful autumn colours. Walkways are not challenging, easily doable for all abilities. Every corner will bring some personal delight.realxing, tranquil and just awesome on a dry sunny day. Feel so energised! I would recommend doing all points, they seem far on the map, but in reality not at all. Cafes and places to get a drink, and have a bit of food as well. Don't miss this!

Simply stunning Gardens & Grounds to visit for people of all ages & also dog friendly 🐕 (on Short Leads ONLY) With a variety of paths/walks on offer for people of all abilities this offers something for everyone and with ample seating around the Gardens to Stop, Relax & Take it all in! I'd say an average stay of 3-4hrs is definitely worth the entrance fee especially if you are stopping at one of the cafes to eat..... This takes me onto the only negative which is the prices at the cafe which are absolutely astronomical especially for families with children etc 🍦 Ice Creams from £3.50+ 🥧 Pasties £5+ 🥤 Cans £2.30 💧Water £3.30 🍫 Chocolate Bars £1.30 🍪 Cookie £3 My advice would be to bring a picnic and eat it somewhere in the grounds and save yourself a small fortune!

What an absolutely stunning place! This was one of the most beautiful gardens. We spent hours here, also having a lovely picnic. Plenty of places to have a picnic and benches. Lots of places to walk to see all the different areas of the gardens takes a few hours but it's really worth it. I would love to visit again.

Popped in with the family on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were friendly and attentive, toasted marshmallows were available down at the mill. A few paths were closed due to fallen trees but all were well marked. Looking forward to coming again.

Wow, stunning gardens especially at this time of year, the autumn colours were amazing. I will definitely go again. There is a lovely cafe there also.
