"Ishq-E-Dilli Sound and Light Show at Purana Qila Purana Qila's translation of "Old Fort" is simple and fitting, considering it is one of the oldest forts in Delhi. The 16th century stone structure is not on the popular tourist circuit, making it a prime spot to indulge in the historical markings of the city's urban developments. Excavations show the fort was inhabited as early as 300 BC, around the time when Delhi was founded. Purana Qila was also the site of several temporary settlements, including over 3,000 Japanese civilians during the second world war. From November - January, history comes alive at the nightly sound and light show. Pack a picnic and come early for the best seats."

The Delhi zoo is a great place to bring kids and plan a family outing. We went on a Saturday and bought tickets online from the website for 80 rs for an adult and 40.rs for a child above 5 years age. There is ample paid parking and a lot of eating options near the entrance. One cannot carry plastic water bottles without submitting a refundable 20 rs to avoid littering. The zoo has lions.l,Tigers, nilgai, bears. Monkeys, hippos, pelicans, elephants ,leopard, wolf, crocodiles, deer and tortoises. It is very green and one has to walk a lot so battery operated buggeys can be booked. It is a lot of fun in the winter mornings and timings are 9.30 am to 5 pm.

Visited Delhi Zoo and spent around 3.5 hours exploring. The zoo is quite large with a good variety of animals. Some enclosures appeared well maintained and a few animals seemed well cared for, while others, such as the tiger, looked underfed or tired, which affected the overall impression. Parking was easy to find, and the premises were fairly organized for visitors. My child enjoyed parts of the visit, but overall the experience felt average. It is a reasonable option for a family outing, but the visit could be improved with better animal care and enhanced maintenance.

Good Experience but Needs Better Maintenance and Care The National Zoological Park, New Delhi, is a great place for families, school trips, and wildlife lovers who want to spend a day surrounded by nature. Spread across more than 175 acres, it houses a variety of animals — from majestic white tigers and lions to elephants, rhinos, and exotic birds. The park also plays an important role in animal conservation and awareness, which is truly commendable. However, the experience can be mixed. Many enclosures seem poorly maintained, and a few animals appear stressed or inactive — likely due to the Delhi heat and lack of proper cooling or enrichment. Some areas have littering issues, and restroom facilities could definitely use an upgrade. Electric vehicle rides are available, but they often have long queues and limited frequency, which can be tiring for elderly visitors or families with kids. Tips for Visitors & Planning: ⏰ Best Time to Visit: Morning hours (9–11 AM), especially in winter or early spring, to avoid the heat and large crowds. 🎟️ Tickets: Book online through the official NZP website to skip long queues at the counter. 🚗 Getting There: The zoo is near Purana Qila and Pragati Maidan Metro Station — an easy walk or short auto ride away. 💧 Carry: Water bottles, caps, and light snacks (outside food is not allowed inside). 🦓 Electric Cart: Opt for the battery vehicle if you’re visiting with kids or seniors; the zoo is quite large to cover on foot. 📸 Photography: Allowed, but use zoom instead of flash to avoid disturbing animals. Overall, the National Zoological Park is worth a one-time visit for its educational value and green environment, but it definitely needs better management, hygiene, and animal care to match the standards of modern wildlife parks.

*🌿🐾 D.A.V. World School – Exciting Educational Trip to the Zoo 🚌✨* Today, D.A.V. World School organized a fun-filled and educational Zoo Trip for our students. The children were thrilled to see various animals and birds up close, making the day both exciting and informative. Their faces lit up with joy as they explored the zoo— 🦁 the roar of the lion 🐒 the playful monkeys and elephants 🦜 and the colorful, chirping birds This trip was not only entertaining but also a wonderful learning experience, helping students connect with nature and understand the importance of wildlife conservation. Delhi Zoo is a wonderful place to visit with family and kids. The park is spacious, green, and well maintained. You can see a wide variety of animals, birds, and reptiles here – from majestic lions and tigers to colorful parrots and crocodiles. The walking paths are clean and shaded with trees, making the visit comfortable. Battery-operated vehicles are also available for those who prefer not to walk much. It’s not just entertaining but also educational, especially for children to learn about wildlife and nature. A perfect weekend spot in Delhi! 🦁🐅🦜🐘

The Delhi Zoo (National Zoological Park) is a wonderful place to spend an entire day surrounded by nature and wildlife. The entry ticket is ₹80 per adult, which is quite reasonable considering the experience you get. The nearest metro station is Supreme Court, and from there, you can take an auto to the zoo – it should cost ₹60 for two people; don’t pay more than that. The zoo itself is beautifully maintained, with wide shaded pathways, lush greenery, and clean surroundings. The variety of animals is impressive – from lions, tigers, leopards, and elephants to colorful birds, reptiles, and deer. The enclosures are spacious and designed to keep the animals comfortable, while still allowing visitors to get a good view. It’s a great place for families, friends, and nature lovers. Children especially will enjoy seeing the animals up close, and it’s also quite educational. There are benches and rest spots throughout, so you can take your time exploring without rushing. The ambience is peaceful and refreshing, making it the perfect break from city life. Overall, Delhi Zoo is a must-visit if you want a budget-friendly, relaxing, and educational outing in Delhi. A day here is time well spent.

Visited the National Zoological Park in Delhi recently and had a pretty good experience overall. The place is huge and has a decent variety of animals – from tigers and leopards to elephants, deer, birds, and reptiles. It's a nice green space in the middle of the city, which makes it feel peaceful and refreshing. What I really liked was how spacious and clean the zoo was, especially compared to what I expected. The enclosures seemed reasonably maintained, and some animals looked quite active. Renting an e-cart was a good decision since the zoo is spread out – definitely recommended if you're going with family or elders. A few downsides though: some enclosures felt a bit empty or under renovation, and I wish there were better signs or information boards about the animals. Food options inside were also pretty limited, so it’s a good idea to carry your own snacks and water (though outside food isn’t allowed inside). Overall, it’s a nice spot to spend 2–3 hours, especially with kids or if you're a nature lover. Wouldn’t say it’s a "must-visit" in Delhi, but definitely worth checking out at least once.
