This might be the best place to showcase how colourful and impressive plant-based eating could be, even more someone who often eats vegetarian and vegan like me. Situated in an old Flanders style town house, Native offers an intimate texture similar to sitting in someone's kitchen and surrounded by all the flowers, cooking objects and small items. Their food is stunning, mostly all forms vegetables including salad, leaves, roasted roots, mashed chickpeas, whole grains, lots of herbs... very creative and flavoursome. The friendly staff is always laid-back and knowledgeable with all the ingredients and happy to explain. I think I can say this is my all-time favourite restaurant in Antwerp! I will definitely come back again and again!

Went here today for dinner and the food was delicious, real food and awesome flavours. The staff is super friendly and they are not with a lot, so hard work! I definitely will recommend this place to friends. Next time I go to Antwerp I want to go back.

Cosiest restuarant I have seen in Antwerp in a loooong time. If you like healthy, fresh and honnest food in a cosy vintage/brocant setting: Do not hesitate and book your table!

Yelp
Great options for vegetarians! So many different types of meals to choose from, and they do a great job with still making it taste great. Definitely recommend the avocado toast; it's cliche, but it's divine. The place is intimate with retro vintage vibes. It's a two man show with owner running the restaurant and a chef in the back. Definitely recommend if you're in Antwerp.

Yelp
Best restaurant I ate it in all of the Netherlands. I am a heavy meat eater, but this was so, so tasty, I didn't miss it at all. I am so glad we stopped here as it is not a typical restaurant choice for us.

Yelp
Came for Saturday lunch. There is an English menu if you ask. Focus on fresh, veggie-ful light (though large portion) meals. I had the chicken and hummus "toast" which is thick-cut, fresh bread lightly toasted and piled high with fresh grilled chicken, hummus, salad, pickled veg (which I swapped for seasonal veg). My husband had the roast beef toast with similar ingredients save for the meat. It was tasty but required deconstructing and eating with knife and fork ... and I kept getting distracted by the quinoa salads topped with goat's cheese that came out and looked yummy (and were most popular). There was also a quinoa base quiche that looked lovely and sold out fast. Service was friendly but took some time (just down to being busy not necessarily inefficiency or lack of trying). Good selection of local beers and Belgium based juices and teas, and wine and cocktails too. Focus on local, healthier options including alternatives to meat and grains, and on the more expensive side as these types of cafes tend to be: our bill was €38 for two sandwiches, a soup of the day, a beer and a juice

Yelp
I was trying to find a new spot for lunch when my sister-in-law was visiting and decided on Native. I already can't wait to come back. Everything on the menu and the specials of the day sounded so delicious. I tried looking at what other people were eating, but it just made my decision even harder! In the end I decided on sweet potatoes with parsley sauce. My sister-in-law had a similar problem and in the end ordered a tart made with butter turnips topped with a cauliflower sauce. Both were outstanding - so fresh! Also helps that everything's organic :) The people working at Native are so friendly. We came at a peak lunch time without reservations and rather than sending us away he tried his best to find us a place to eat. He also was super helpful explaining all the dishes and offering suggestions. This friendliness only enhances the calm, cool atmosphere of the restaurant.

Yelp
Nothing special. Overpriced for what it is, posing as a gourmet food place by serving extremely small dishes. Slow, but friendly service, there's only one waiter serving everyone. We went with 4 persons for dinner and were suggested by staff to share the dishes tapas style. However, the dishes were bland, tiny and not appropriate for sharing. An example was a dish with something they called "sauce"but was essentially soup. Not a dish you'd wanna share. Another menu item was made out of cauliflower leaves, unconventional and I was happy to try out. It was an undercooked, bland, fibrous mess that used parts that are usually discarded, for which they ask between 11-15eur (don't recall the exact price). A final example was a dish made out of literally 3 pieces of overcooked zucchini and 3 small carrots... Laughably, this was suggested for sharing for 4 people. Just no! The only good thing was the dessert, got a carrot cake and a beetroot brownie. Nothing bad to say about those, they were tasty. But in the end, 6 dishes and 140 euros later, we still left disappointed and really hungry. Sad because I was actually excited to try it out a nice place that uses local organic ingredients. Do not recommend, save your money and taste buds and go somewhere else.

Yelp
We willen allemaal eens graag gaan lunchen maar dat wordt al een snel een calorievolle activiteit in sommige gevallen. Native is weer zo'n verborgen parel in Antwerpen.

Yelp
Beautiful place! Wonderfully paired flavours, comfortable atmosphere, and very friendly staff. I think we could a hidden gem.

Yelp
Delicious, vegetable heavy lunch. A welcome change to the typical Belgian meals we had been enjoying. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Terribly slow service. Got seated outside and waited 15 minutes but still had not been shown the food menu because there was only one to pass around the tables. Gave up and went elsewhere.

Yelp
Everything is fantastic. Shared 6 dishes and 2 desserts among 4 people. Delicious, beautiful, and inspiring. Staff were so friendly and knowledgeable.

Yelp
My current favourite lunch or coffee retreat spot! Beautiful, cosy, kind, quiet, hidden, good price quality. Only the salad with caramelised pumpkin is a little over priced for the size, but still deliful... Most recommended if you're around that side of town.

Yelp
We just found one of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at. And we have been to many highly rated or international restaurants. The food at Native is fresh, original, and of the best quality. My husband and I ordered the cucumber and kohlrabi salad, the mashed cauliflower with shrimps and poached egg and the catch of the day (Rotbarsch) with green beans and broccoli. In addition we were served the beet pesto with bread and crackers as an appetizer--on the house. If you're a decent cook yourself, you'll recognize the straight-forwardness of this food but recognize its elegance and purity as well. The food is not doctored up with ingredients typical of commercial gastronomy. In short, this is home cooking of the most creative sort that pleases the palate and is filling and healthy without being heavy. Delicious! P.S. The Gageleer beer is wonderful too!
