"A Chilean couple runs this small hotel overlooking an untouched beach on the Dominican Republic’s northern coast, halfway between the towns of Sosúa and Cabarete. They built the property one bungalow at a time, adding a swimming pool and spa along the way. Today, 12 thatched-roof cabanas—with one, two, and three bedrooms—feature a beachy vibe, complete with stone, shell, and wood accents as well as ceiling fans and screened windows. Guests of this homey property can also look forward to two open-air restaurants, which source most of their herbs and produce from the hotel’s organic garden, and a seaside temple for yoga and Pilates classes. Playa Encuentro, a great surfing beach, is within walking distance, and activities like kiteboarding lessons on Playa Cabarete, zip-lining past monkeys in the jungle, and swimming in secluded waterfalls are all nearby."

This is a little hidden gem with no frills just pure nature and relaxation. The rooms are simple, comfortable and eco friendly. No televisions nor phones in the room which was soon ice!.The two restaurants with exceptional views are excellent and a lot of people living in the area come to the restaurant. In the morning you see people riding their horses on the beach while you’re having breakfast. The fitness classes in the temple are lovely and varied. Don’t miss out on the Sunday market which tracts lots of local artists. Lovely community, wellness and mindfulness is at the heart of it all. ||We were welcome with big warm smile by Danny and Julie at breakfast and lunch. Don’t miss the savoury salmon waffle, avocado on toast and rancheros. For lunch the Civiche is to die for plus the fish salad and trio tacos. ||Dinner is equally delicious. Dont miss the seared tuna. Steak and ceviche! Salamone our waiter even showed me a clever trick to pour wine with a napkin. ||The receptionist kelvin was amazing and gave us genuine advice on activities to do around the area.

A pleasant deviation from the usual all inclusive big resorts. It’s a beautiful hotel to get grounded and recharge. The decor and atmosphere is amazingly calming and refreshing.

Me and my partner had a lovely spa day here. The treatments were wonderful and the overall service was stellar. Beautiful location right on the beach as well. We would definitely return for the spa!

My wife and I spent a few nights at Natura Cabana, and it was one of the most peaceful and grounding experiences we’ve had in the Dominican Republic. Tucked away just outside Cabarete, this boutique eco-hotel really feels like a retreat into nature—in the best way. We stayed in one of the bungalows, surrounded by lush greenery and just steps from the beach. The space was cozy and thoughtfully designed with natural materials, but still had the comfort of modern amenities—including air conditioning, which was a nice touch after hot afternoons outside. We loved relaxing in the hammock on our porch and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. The beach here is quiet and unspoiled—more suited for peaceful walks and lounging than swimming—which worked perfectly for us. It felt like we had it all to ourselves most of the time. The on-site restaurants were excellent. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful, especially the seafood. Meals by the ocean just hit differently. We didn’t try the spa treatments, but the atmosphere of the entire place was already calming and restorative. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always helpful. Whether we had a question or just wanted to chat, they made us feel truly at home. It’s a little tucked away at the end of a quiet road, so it helps to have transportation if you want to explore Cabarete or nearby towns. But honestly, once we got there, we didn’t want to leave. If you’re looking for a quiet, romantic getaway that blends nature, comfort, and soul-soothing calm, Natura Cabana is a beautiful choice. We left completely relaxed and already wanting to return.

My family and I spent a week in paradise at Natura Cabana. Our cabana was absolutely beautiful. We went to sleep listening to the ocean every night. The restaurants were amazing!! We tried almost everything on the menus, and liked everything we tried. I don’t drink alcohol, and I had lots of drink options to choose from! I recommend the “Glowing Skin” smoothie. I enjoyed an amazing massage and facial. The staff were all so friendly, and welcoming to our entire family. My family and I loved every moment spent here.

Smoothie Heaven! We’ve been to Natura Cabana for lunch 3x and also dinner recently — the food never disappoints. Always fresh and delicious. I also got a chance to do the “Sun Bum” treatment at the spa and 100% recommend it for sunworn skin. The aloe vera wrap and oatmeal bath calmed down redness. Can’t wait to go back! 🧖🏼‍♀️

Maybe my favorite place I’ve ever stayed! Beautiful rooms, gorgeous beach, excellent staff (special shout-out to Calvin who made our stay wonderful from the first moment), delicious food, fantastic massages. It has the amenities of a resort while being so perfectly integrated into nature - it connects to a walking path that extends far along the coast and the beach is so peaceful & natural in the area of the hotel. I can’t recommend this place more highly.

My husband and I just had our wedding at Natura Cabana earlier this month and would like to warn people about the issues you may experience if you choose to have your wedding at this location. Although it is a beautiful location we unfortunately had a very negative experience leading up to the wedding and during. ||||Food poisoning for 21/26 guests||At around 3pm on the day of the wedding shortly after lunch, one of our guests started to feel unwell and was not able to attend our wedding dinner. Shortly after dinner several other guests followed. Our wedding reception resulted in the majority of our guests dropping like flies from violent nonstop diarrhea and vomiting. This was extremely disappointing as all of these people had flown in for the weekend to celebrate with us and instead of being able to drink, celebrate and dance together by 10pm there were only 6 people left standing with the 7 late night pizzas we ordered being untouched and handed out to staff to take home with them instead. As none of the guests had left the Natura grounds this had to have been caused by the food we were served by Natura. When we raised the concern the next morning to the Natura staff and the wedding planner they took no accountability, offered no apology and even accused us of lying. My husband and I were extremely disappointed that all of our guests were unwell, some even needing to go to the hospital once back in Canada after not recovering after over a week. This event unfortunately ruined our wedding weekend as guests were still too unwell to eat brunch the next day. The bunch also cost $35usd per person- a complete rip off with only a few fingers foods being served. Breakfast for guests is included for all guests at Natura but we were told if we paid extra for this wedding brunch it would be extremely elaborate & fancy with lots of food and options which was not the case at all - stick with the free breakfast it will keep your guests full and the brunch is a complete scam. However, based on what I noted above I wouldn’t suggest eating here. || ||The wedding planner nightmare:||The wedding planner does not live in the country so will not be there on your wedding day and was not around to give us a tour of the location before we booked the wedding. She works remotely and is often unresponsive having to follow up after every question or request before hearing back. The wedding planner, was frustrating and tiresome to work with. From the beginning my husband and I were very involved and detailed with our vision for our wedding at Natura Cabana. Our first contact with the wedding planner happened 12 months before we arrived for our wedding yet the wedding planner continuously requested the same details we had provided well in advance during the very last weeks leading up to the wedding causing us undo stress, lack of trust in their ability and inability to deliver our vision for our wedding weekend. We had to instigate multiple meetings with our wedding planner to ensure that our vision was actually on track because the wedding planner did not update us on what was being done or what was left to be done. She was inflexible for meeting times as my husband and I both have jobs we could not meet during the work day hours. When we did meet with her she was either a) unable to answer our questions or b) it seemed she would just say yes to move on to the next question. She also refused to give us the contact information for the people who would actually be there on our wedding day to set things up and execute the wedding weekend. Overall, as a couple we had felt we had planned our entire wedding all the way down to the simplest detail having to think of everything without any support or suggestions, we even had to spend the time to compile all the information into a step by step binder explaining everything we had already communicated with her which took us hours to create and very much felt like we were doing her job. We do not feel the wedding planner added any value and was simply a middle man messenger to the hotel as she would not provide us with direct contact info for the hotel. In addition, she was unable to confirm any of the details up until the last few days before our wedding which did not make for a very relaxing vacation for us. The staff on the ground were very kind and welcoming however, we were not allowed to communicate details to them directly as per the wedding planners instructions. When issues arose during the wedding weekend and we raised our concerns to the wedding planner virtually she did not listen to our concerns and did not help us try to solve them. For example we wanted to have a champagne tower and we found out the day before the wedding that she had ordered glasses of all different sizes resulting in a tower that could not be built with stability and also informed us if it fell we would have to pay for any broken glasses which resulted in us not being able to build our big tower and missing that moment/photo opportunity we had been looking forward to all year. We experienced disappointment after disappointment with the wedding planner at Natura Cabana and did not understand why we were paying thousands of dollars for her service.||||Overall, there are many other places in Cabarete and the north coast of the island that will provide you with a much better experience at half the cost!
