Me and my boyfriend loved it!! We decided to go on a bit different date and decided the museum was a good one! Their temporary exposition was fantastic and quite interesting, with screens showing videos of the madeiran fauna! Plus there was one giant screen!! We had a great time, and it was also quite cheap for something in the middle of the city and for all their contents!! Ps: The aromatic garden smelled amazing!

Loved it. The aromatic garden was amazing along with the displays in the museum. Aquarium.was being renovated but enjoyed the waterline exhibition.

Very interesting but very short and sweet also. Tickets are around €4 each, there is an aquarium there but it was closed for refurbishment when we visited so I can’t comment on this. They have lots of aquatic birds, mammals and fish to observe. There is a lovely garden to explore which was lovely but also small.

A small museum on the plants and animals found on and around Maderia by one of its own. Some plants mis identified or names have changed. The aquatics section was shut, no lift so it's a heave up the stairs but all the same a nice place tsee the taxidermy of the islands. About 5 euros per adult entry.

Great natural history museum, better and larger than the one in the Botanical gardens. There are multiple rooms with exhibitions about the natural history of Madeira, with videos and a film room playing constantly. Outside, there is a fantastic small garden with a variety of plants. Unfortunately, the aquarium section was undergoing renovation, so it was shut. Well worth a visit. It's free to enter and there are toilets available which were immaculately clean, well done the people who look after these.

Perhaps this small old-fashioned museum is worth a visit if you are on the island for a long time or are very interested in local birds and animals. Unfortunately, the aquarium doesn't work as closed for renovation. I really liked a nice garden with aromatic plants. Also I was surprised by the number of Madeira rock formations, as well as by the number of local birds and fish and very few animals

Great little traditional museum, with lots of taxidermy by the founder. Very informative and probably a great place to visit before trekking and hiking the mountains or diving in the waters of the island because you end up spotting all the varieties of rare animals mentioned. Worth a visit, free admission.
