Dormy inn Gifu-Ekimae

Dormy inn at Gifu is located at a central location. If you take the overhead bridge, it’s a much shorter walk (7 mins) to Gifu train station. The hotel is prominently located so it’s hard to miss despite a short 10 mins walk if you walk along the roads. Eateries every where near the train station too. The room has a warm ambiance and is clean and comfortable (with exception of the pillow maybe too thin). There are no shower facilities inside the room as there is a big onsen for use. Travellers who want personal showers in the room may not be suitable. I love the onsen, it’s clean and nicely designed with stone flooring. There is also free Hershey ice cream, noodles at 9pm and all day nice coffee at the counter. Breakfast is worth it as there are many trademark local dishes you must try. What I love most of the hotel is the service. The staff was very friendly when I ask how to go to Gujo Hachiman and even printed the map and bus schedule. The fact they went an extra mile makes me love this hotel very much. Overall this is an amazing good value hotel that I love and highly recommend if you love onsen, food, good coffee. And excellent service too.

This level functions as the hotel's central hub, as it also houses the restaurant, the Onsen (hot spring bath - indoor, sheltered outdoor), and the Relaxation Room. ​🚗 Parking and Access ​The hotel offers convenient, on-site parking right next door for ¥1,000 per day. ​Access Note: The car park is connected directly to the hotel on Level 2. Guests are advised to park specifically on Level 2D for direct entry into the building. ​🧖‍♀️ Onsen and Laundry Facilities (Level 6) 🧺 ​The Onsen (Hot Spring): A definite highlight, the in-house Onsen features a cold plunge pool for a refreshing contrast. ​Onsen Toiletries: The area is fully equipped with basic complimentary toiletries, including cleansing oil, toner, moisturiser, cotton wool, cotton buds, shower caps, hair bands, shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. ​Complimentary Locker Usage is also provided. ​Laundry Facilities: Enjoy free self-service washing machines. A nominal fee of ¥100 applies for a 20-minute drying cycle. ​🧘 Relaxation Room (Level 6) ​Guests receive free usage of the massage chair. Please limit each usage to a maximum of 15 minutes. Comics is also available for all to browse. ​🍽️ Food & Beverage ​Breakfast: Served in the Level 6 restaurant. It is located approx 7 mins away from the JR Gifu station. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel room and onsen are so clean. Onsen is located on the 6th floor. It also provides free ice-cream, sugary drink and free ramen for guests after using the onsen service.

Great hotel. Located just 5 minutes on a walk way from Gifu station & good position to explore.|The staff were very welcoming & friendly. Stored our luggage until check in time.|Went for a larger room (bigger beds & more space) very comfortable.|TV, kettle, fridge & toiletries in room, also if forgotten anything, they have bits available.|Had breakfast included which was a mix of western & Japanese self service - all very tasty. Hot & cold food.|Hotel has a spa bath. Laundry facilities. Relaxing room with massage chairs |Definitely recommend this hotel

Dormy inns are super nice, this one is no different. It's s very short walk from the train station and it is very clean. The price is great too. Suited all of my needs as a solo traveler.

Dormy Inn is located in an office building area, so it is quite quiet at night. There is a skybridge connecting the JR station to the office area, so you don’t have to worry about carrying luggage across the street or getting wet in the rain. It takes about 5-10 minutes to walk from the hotel to the JR Gifu station, and there are supermarket and restaurants beneath the station, so finding food won’t be an issue. The best part of Dormy Inn is the hot spring, washing away all tiredness. The hot spring would definitely be the reason for next visit.

Great hotel. Comfortable bed, nice onsen, free noodles, ice cream and probiotic drink at various times of day. Our second Dormy and we would definitely recommend them over APA. Can walk using the overpass from the train station, Family Mart 3 mins away

We stayed here for 3 nights and would highly recommend it. The rooms are small but functional. The staff were so helpful and friendly all the time. The onsen was excellent with three pools and a sauna in the men and women's sections. Coin operated laundry. Free coffee in reception. Free noodles between 9.30pm and 11pm! We had originally booked 4 nights but at the last minute decided to go to Takayama for the spring festival and the hotel refunded one night without any issues. My only criticism was the bed; the pillows were flat and very hard and the bed is very small but I think this is standard in Japan!
