One of the most beautiful places that I’ve ever been to. Even getting to the place is an adventure. The pools themselves are crystal clear and beautiful and provide a nice and relaxing getaway from the hike. The locals fair and along the route have wonderful food to buy. The trek to the actual pools is moderately steep and rocky and the ride to even get to the area is bumpy. And then of course the hike up the mountain after the pools would be more strenuous. Definitely would not recommend for anyone who has severe back issues or is unstable. But for anyone that loves adventure this place is great!

Such an amazing place to visit. Now with the newly fixed road it’s awesome. We drove 10 hours to see this place and I would do it again.

Genuinely the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited. Sensational pools, beautiful views and magical mountain scenery. The cost for entrance is 50GTQ (£5), which can be paid on arrival without booking. When you arrive, you can pick up reasonably priced drinks and food from street vendors before entering the park. The walk to the viewing point is c. 30-40 minutes up stairs / rocks. It’s relatively slippery, so go carefully. We drove the whole way to Lanquin from Flores. It’s possible in an average rental (4x4 not needed), but is a challenging drive. Always stick to the main roads no matter what your navigation says, as the side roads are very sketchy (steep, slippery, big rocks, etc). Avoid driving at night, as lots of people / animals / cars use the roads, which are not lit. The entrance to the park is accessed via a 10 minute shuttle from Lanquin, which costs around 50-100 GTQ for a return trip. You could drive it in a 4x4 (or possibly in a normal car, with a high risk tolerance), but I’d recommend going via a shuttle, which can be easily found in Lanquin or via your hostel. We didn’t do the cave tours and were perfectly happy at the main section - you can access everywhere aside from the caves in the normal fee.

The caves were amazing! the climb to the look out was slippery and steep, but I got a workout and the view was fabulous. Swimming in the pools is a must.

Semuc Champey is amazing! We visited the natural pools and did the short hike to the viewpoint. We skipped the caves. Swimming in the pools was fantastic, and the water was clean. There are lockers near the pools, so you can store your belongings safely. Be careful, though—everything is very slippery! The wooden walkways are slick, and the hike (30 minutes up and 30 minutes down) can be risky. Hold on tight! We slipped a few times.

Semuc Champey is a very beautiful place, definitely worth checking out. Be prepared for entering in water a lot. If you can't swin, it is possible to rent a lifejacket at the park (Q. 10). Beware of the scammers, there are people selling beer at really high prices, and they almost never have change, making you grab even more beer to round for the money. If not for the scammers and sped up tour, it would be a 5 star.

A breathtaking natural reserve. Upon reaching the park at 8:30 am, we found it nearly deserted. We were fortunate to enjoy one of the serene swimming holes all to ourselves for an hour, and it was truly remarkable. The water, with its vibrant blue color and crystal clarity, allowed us to observe fish gracefully swimming by. The trees were alive with monkeys actively swinging from branch to branch. We had a great day in the park.

Stunning place, and one of the many highlights of guatemala! To get to semuc it is about a 15 minute walk from greengos hostel to get to the entrance of semuc. At the entrance tou will pay a entrance fee of 50Quetzal. (only cash!) take the hike up to the viewpoint, where you will be rewarded with a beautifull view of the natural pools of semuc. this little hike will take you about 30 minutes to get up, and 20 to get down. afterwards take a refreshing swim in the natural pools, and get some food from the vendors selling food right outside of the park. after your
