Great museum, interesting for all the ages. You can learn here about the life on Earth, from birth to death, as well as dinosaurs, first people, see many species of animals, explore, play and much more. We and both our kids, 4 and 13, liked it very much.

Naturalis isn’t just a museum — it’s an adventure from the moment you step inside. Every age group gets something real out of it, whether you’re chasing dinosaurs, geeking out over science, or just wandering through the exhibits. It’s immersive, beautifully designed, and honestly hard not to enjoy 😉

I've been to Naturalis with my kids before and it's been a positive experience each time. At the end of this visit we also went to the LiveScience section on the ground floor and it's really cool. Next time we'll go there first thing. According to the website, LiveScience section is free to visit. You must get a ticket if you wish to visit the exhibitions on the other floors of the museum.

One of the best museums I've ever been! The exhibits were of exceptional quality. What really impressed me is their presentation, you can see the care they have put into it. What really won me were the volunteers! They are so happy to explain things to you, guide you and are happy to see you enjoy the museum.

Naturalis is not just a museum – it’s a journey through time! From enormous dinosaur skeletons that make you feel tiny, to breathtaking exhibitions about the wonders of nature, every corner sparks curiosity. The layout is modern, interactive, and perfect for both kids and adults. You can easily spend hours exploring without getting bored. The highlight for me was standing face-to-face with the mighty T. rex a moment I’ll never forget. If you’re in Leiden, this is an absolute must-visit for science, history, and nature lovers alike!🦖🌍✨

I have been wanting to go here for a while now since seeing it as one of 5 best museums in the Netherlands. We absolutely loved it. Such a cool looking building and the way the exhibitions were set up were very good. My 3 year old daughter loved it, especially the interactive parts.. the herd of triceratops was my highlight. It does seem to be in the middle of nowhere (close to den haag though), but it's definitely worth the trip.

Loved this place, including the additional Trex re-experience. It’s well laid out, so no map is needed to see everything. It’s funny, realistic and simply well done. Plenty of information (yes, English and Dutch) and side activities or videos to keep you busy for over two hours. Beautiful building - would recommend and go back in a heartbeat

Awesome variety of exhibitions showcasing the breadth and depth of life. The amount of fossils and skeletons on display is impressive. Staff was very friendly and the building itself is beautiful to boot. It's also very easy to get to from Central Station in foot. Came away with a renewed appreciation for the natural world!
