If you are looking for a place away from the chaos to rest and recharge, this is the perfect place. We stayed in a villa with 1 bedroom, equipped with the basic stuff such as fridge and electric stove, and also with a lovely backyard. Everything was clean and in good condition. The (shared)pool overlooking the mountains and the river is amazing. There are also bicycles around. Keep in mind that there is nothing around it, no shops, no restaurants so I strongly recommend a car to move around if you plan to stay here (free parking available). Beach and the city center is 15min by car.

We stayed for a few nights in February at the Naturate Rio (one of two locations) - weather wasn't great but we still greatly enjoyed our stay. Our room faced the back of property and we could open the windows or sit outside and listen to the birds with a view of trees. This property does not have breakfast (although you can order a basket of breakfast to be delivered to you for an extra cost); however, we used the kitchen to make our own breakfast each morning. There is a pool on site and some hiking trails that are very quiet - we enjoyed the hike down to the river. There are a few farm animals on-site as well. The room was spacious and very comfortable. I would highly recommend for a relaxed stay.

We stayed there a week with our family and it was wonderful... the views, the amenities, the delicious breakfast basket delivered to our door every day.... Anna and her staff were so nice and most helpful. The kids adored their little adventurous hikes to the river and the different gazebo’s on the beautiful property. The swimming pool has the most amazing view and alltough we were not the only guests it always felt very private. For us it was the perfect retreat close to nature and far away from the hustling and bustling of everyday life.

It is a Beautiful place , decorated with amazing taste. You can have a rest in a great garden and listen to the sounds of nature. The view from the pool is just breathtaking! You will never forget it. Every morning a tasty breakfest is delivered to your doors. It is a great place for getting in touch with nature and resting from the busy life. We recommend it very strongly!

It was a breathtaking experience! Everything was so great! What a lovely reception from Miss Ana, putting us at ease with everything. The 'Hold House' as it was called and where we stayed was so big and confortable! Really nice decoration! We can also go to the village and bring our lunch to fully enjoy the place. And stay more time at the pool. What a pool!!! It will always be remembered us one of the best places we visited! We enjoyed the walks along the property as well as the bike rides. Thank you for your hospitality!

At the end of our 3 weeks travel though Portugal, we stayed for our 2 nights in the 'The Old House'. This was a huge accommodation, very nicely decorated with beautiful art and furniture. We liked the remote location, the free bikes (though they were quite small and could be better maintained, e.g. the brakes didn't work properly), the pool area and especially the food delivery service (for breakfast and diner). As a minor point for improvement, the terrace outside lacked some privacy, which we believe could be easily solved by putting some wooden fences in between. The staff made us feel very welcome and we very much appreciated the tips for the restaurant (Porto das Barcas) and little map with driving directions to visit the beautiful wild coasts.

We are a family of 6. We had 2 "houses" - one was 2 bedrooms and a living roomn, the other was a bedroom, loft with 2 beds and a living room. Both were furnished and decorated with interesting art. Great views from both. Breakfast was delivered to our room in a cork basket. Pool was amazing overlooking the river. Wish we had more time to explore!

This place is absolutely amazing, staff, breakfast, view, hiking, horse riding all perfect. Rooms are well equipped, if you need anything, just ask. Infinity pool with river view, only 10 min drive to beautiful beaches and excellent restaurants. We'll be back...tomorrow ;-)
