Nature Island Dive

Wonderful diving experience! Highly recommend! Booked a two-tank dive with fabulous guides Desiree and Gibran (so sorry if I misspelled your names). I am a relatively inexperienced diver, but this was easily one of the best diving experiences I have had. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and safety-oriented. Additionally, the dive sites were spectacular! As a beginner diver, I still get some pre-dive nerves, so I especially appreciated the supportive atmosphere on the boat. Desiree’s fabulous communication before, during, and after the dives helped me feel comfortable and confident, and really allowed me to maximize my diving experience. Thank you so much!

One of the most professional dive shops I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. As an OWSI, my standards are pretty high but this shop was equally as comfortable with beginners as seasoned divers. The staff was fun and seemed genuinely excited to be on each dive with us. Also, can’t beat the fact that they help run a coral conservation project and actively treat coral during the dives.

Wonderful diving experience with Nature Island! We dove with them for 5 days (11 dives) and was impressed by their safety standards, knowledge, communication, and PASSION. They know their stuff and care about their island - and it shows. Simon and Wendy run a great shop and I love diving with Desiree, Kimmy, and Erica. Seamless experience from booking to last dive! Also love that they have a coffee shop for relaxing surface intervals. Dive with Nature Island!!!!

Best dive shop in Dominica hands down! This is my 2nd year diving with Nature Island Dive for 7 days with the Reef Chics and I so appreciate their professionalism, passion for protecting the reef, engagement above and below water, and keeping the dives fun for all. Our first day we had some issues with the current picking up mid-dive and our dive guide couldn’t have handled the situation any better to ensure safety for all. Top notch diving. Excellent atmosphere and staff. Highly recommended! Not to mention the work they are doing for coral preservation is simply outstanding. Can’t wait to come back! ❤️

I can’t recommend Nature Island Dive highly enough! As a complete beginner who didn’t know the first thing about diving, I had a truly transformative experience. They seem to really know their stuff and their confidence is extremely reassuring. Desi led my group and did a fantastic job of teaching all of us at different levels of experience. The depth of her knowledge about both diving and the reef ecosystem is impressive and fascinating. I dove with Mag and she was totally fantastic. I was terrified at first and she made me feel extremely safe and reassured; I would absolutely recommend diving with her to anyone. The whole experience went so smoothly. They seem to have it really dialed in.

My sister and I had an incredible experience diving with Nature Island Dive. They arranged a shuttle from our cruise ship (necessary to have arranged transport as taxis aren’t readily available) and the driver Karvan was exceptional. Karvan shared many facts and history about Dominicia and even pulled over to grab us a handful of wild Lemongrass growing on the roadside. Upon arrival in beautiful Soufriere Bay and the Nature Island Dive shop we were greeted by the friendly resident pup Jack. We were promptly shown around the well-kept grounds tucked beneath the lush mountain and collected our rental gear. Our dives included L’Abym South and Scott’s Head Drop-Off. These are both wall dives and easily accessible by a very short boat ride right from the shops dock. Our minds were absolutely blown with the unique underwater landscape of Dominica and there was a vast variety of marine life. We were lucky enough to see an Eagle Ray, turtle, and school of iridescent Squid on our dives!! Staff were friendly and set up all of our gear for us and loaded it on to the boat which was nice. Pre-dive briefing and dive check ins from Donny was fairly casual if not a bit vague but we are confident newer divers so it wasn’t a problem. My only qualm was that I noticed my regulator was leaking a bit when I turned my tank on (had heard a whining noise on the previous dive). When I mentioned this the head dive master /instructor dismissed my concern saying she would have heard it. Kimmy then proceeded to replace my regulator mentioning that she noticed it was slightly leaky. The interaction was really not a big thing but I wanted to flag that they would do well to give more consideration to customer feedback. This same staff member also gave us some great tips on snorkelling Soufriere Bay to find volcanic bubbles, hot sand, and a massive school of Sardines! We had a chance to check out the shops coral rescue and rehabilitation operation and loved that they are not only a dive shop but a conservation operation. We got a set of delicious fresh Lion Fish sandwiches to go as we headed back to our ship. Would definitely recommend diving this island with this shop.

Thank you Nature Island Dive for another incredible week for the Reef Chics! We chose to return to Dominica for our annual scuba trip and chose to use NID as our dive operation due to their amazing staff! This dive shop is a true family run business full of experienced instructors, divemasters, captains and cafe staff. They work as a team which is exuded through their kind, supportive spirit. Our dives were always briefed with clear details prior to splashing, followed by underwater “tour guides” who pointed out spectacular underwater life. We also enjoyed our surface interval conversations (and laughs) with the staff back at the dive shop… including the cafe that serves up the best smoothies and lattes! See you next time!

We just got back from diving for a week in Dominica with Nature Island Divers. We had a great diving experience with them. Nature Island Divers took the time to learn about our diving experience and air management and grouped us with similar divers so that we did not have to come up early with a lot of wasted air. This helped us maximize our bottom time and see more of the beautiful underwater environment of the Scotts Head Marine Preserve. Captain Naz and DM's Joy and Amber were friendly and approachable and always willing to answer any questions that we had. They always gave thorough dive site briefings but remembered to make if fun. They took us to all the best dive sites from Scott's Head Pinnacle and Drop Off to the awesome inshore Walls. Underwater Joy and Amber were attentive and pointed out all the great marine life both big and small so we could enjoy their beauty. The Dive Op is also full service. They clean your gear at the end of the day and it is dry and ready on the boat the next day for you review and prep for your next dives. Nature Island Divers does not have a lot of "fluff" but they are genuine, professional, friendly, and they care. Overall the entire shop provided excellent customer service. They are our group's "Go To" Dive Op on Dominica. We will dive with them again soon. Of Special Note: This dive shop really cares about the marine park and protecting the Coral from Stony Coral Tissue Loss Syndrome (SCTLS). They take the time to apply antibiotic to some of the coral that we see on the dives that need help. I appreciated them doing that as it demonstrated a commitment to the greater Dominica Reef environment and Marine Preserves.
