Naturhistorisches Museum Bern

It’s a museum with great collection, but it would benefit greatly from including English translations. Also, another thing I noticed, when you pay for the entrance, you don’t get a ticket nor a receipt. That is a very uncommon practice.

Enjoyable but needs English info. A nice museum, but it would be much better for foreigners if the exhibit information was also available in English. Having translations is common in other museums in the area and would be a significant improvement... I found myself translating at first but eventually gave up, missing out on most of the information.

We had a great time at the Natural History Museum in Bern! I visited with my two kids (5 and 10 years old), and they both loved it. The exhibits are really well laid out, with plenty of interactive elements that kept them engaged. The animal displays—especially the large dioramas as well as the stone and mineral collection. Highly recommend for families visiting Bern!

Go to the fourth floor, most interesting. Bring the kids so they'll see their future...

The museum was very disappointing and not worth the price. At least half the museum was entirely in German with no other translation, which was not made clear beforehand - the entry signs/floor map are in German, French, and English but the exhibits are often not. To not even translate the exhibits (especially the special exhibition) into French is very disappointing. Additionally, there is very little “history” pre-1900s: the vast majority of the museum is taxidermy, models, bones, or jars of modern animals. In comparison to other natural history museums in Europe it was easily the most disappointing.

I came specifically for the rock and mineral exhibit, and it was great. Really nice variety, and even some specimens I've never seen before. Some really interesting displays and unique items you don't really see other places. The exhibit is laid out pretty well, too. Flows really nice. If you only speak English, like myself, you'll need to translate things that you find of interest.

Great place to go with kids and interested grown ups. Especially the part about the swiss wild life is super interesting
