Naturresort & Spa Schindelbruch (Südharz, Saxony-Anhalt) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Germany is home to multiple climate-neutral hotels, but Naturresort & Spa Schindelbruch, opened in 2009, was the very first. This wellness-focused luxury resort was constructed on the foundations of an old hunting lodge in the Harz Mountains, now part of a large biosphere reserve popular with cyclists and hikers. A natural spring nearby underpins the resort’s water supply, sourcing a large thermal pool and a series of saunas and steam baths, and the restaurant serves seasonal cuisine paired with wines from ecologically responsible wineries." - Tablet Hotels

We had a wonderful vacation at Nature Resort Schindelbruch, where we stayed in a Suite in their “New country resident” with our dog. The room was large, moderne and with an authentic interior design – you feel at home from the minute you enter the room. It also comes with a nice private terrace.||The stay included half board with a delicious 4 course dinner every night. Each course had several options and made dining a genuine experience completing the stay. Hotel and staff was very friendly and we appreciate how they welcomed our dog. |||Schindelbruch is located in a stunning location with plenty of opportunities for relaxation, we also recommend trying the spa and the well equipped fitness center. We highly recommend this hidden gem in the south Harz.

Great spa, friendly staff, delicious food..... If you are in the right room it will be a 5 star experience. Not all rooms are equally nice though. Some have an odd view (roof or wall of adjacent building), some are next to a heavy door to the corridor which keeps banging, some are next to the housekeeping room and early in the morning the trolleys run back and forth, some are above the kitchen and the smell gets through.... Ask for the main building or the new building - the building in which you will find the restaurants has less appealing rooms....

Sadly, we only had one night’s stay at this beautiful hotel.||As soon as we drove up to it, it was obvious that it was something special! Situated in the middle of a forest, it looked very welcoming. And on entering that feeling continued. The decor and furnishings throughout are of an exceptionally || high standard. There was nothing out of place, high standard of cleanliness and upkeep was obvious. It is a stunning building both inside and out.||Our room was of the same high standard, if a little on the small side. It would probably be improved by removing the part wall between the seating area and the sleeping area. I can see that it is there to House the quirky tv which pivots between the two areas, but it does reduce the floor area considerably, as well as being a little inconvenient. That said we slept extremely well, partly due to the comfortable bed, and partly due to the remoteness of the hotel.||The staff spoke little English, but between us all we managed pretty well. Especially the lovely lady in the bar, she was extremely helpful.||The restaurant was also faultless. Beautiful food, well present and served but the very helpful waiting on staff. Breakfast the following morning, was eaten in the same restaurant, although apparently, there are five restaurants at this resort in total. It was a buffet breakfast, a huge range of quality items were available. We really enjoyed it!||Sadly, we had to leave after one night, without having the chance to explore and experience what this beautiful hotel has to offer. It is somewhere I would love to come back to for a few days. Just to chill out, and spend time in the spa and walking the many woodland trails. It would be bliss!

I have been here for 2 weeks for work. The spa is a great pleasure after a hard day's work. I had the honor of eating the delectable dishes of Eric Jadischke. He deserves a star on the guide Michelin. The hospitality of the hotel staff and the great dining attendantsmake it feel like home away from home. Keep it up

We stayed at Schindelbruch for three nights in January, and frankly, we wish we'd stayed longer. It was our first visit, and we were impressed all around. The hotel itself is beautiful and tasteful, and although it's a large compound, it always feels small and familiar. ||The spa itself is beautiful and very tasteful. Every little detail is thought out and in good taste. We love the water beds in the meditation room, or the couples lounges overlooking the forest, to name but two examples. The saunas are just right, and never too crowded. ||The food was excellent, as was the sports programme offered. You'll be eating a lot - just think: at breakfast, honey directly from a honeycomb, combined with a large selection of fresh German bread. The selection of different things to have for breakfast is almost overwhelming. Dinner is a dream unto itself. ||Most of all, staff was extremely friendly, professional, while at the same time being personable, and not stiff. ||All in all, a great experience, we did not find a thing to nag about. Frankly, we've been wondering why it's not classified as a five star resort. Well worth the money - make sure to check out their package deals. ||enjoy!||

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in Nov at the resort and were extremely impressed. It was as though we spent 4 days wrapped in a bath-robe. The spa was fabulous, so spacious, and with 5 different 'quiet' rooms to choose from each with their own furnishing, style and feel made for pleasant afternoons of lazing and relaxation. The pools are great and not overcrowded. The 4 saunas were typically good quality and size, however a more frequent 'Aufguss' sauna session provided by the staff would be preferred. ||The rooms are modern especially in the new building - rooms number 300+ are best and most quiet. The restaurant is targeted towards meat eaters, given the resort was once a hunting lodge this is not surprising. The quality of the daily menu is excellent, just don't expect much in the way of vegan options. ||Overall a fantastic experience, where we felt completely recharged and spoilt. We will definitely be back.
