I had a great time during my three-night stay here — mostly thanks to the amazing company of the other guests and the truly wonderful staff. They really made the experience special. That said, the property itself is in serious need of some attention. While it’s clear this is a successful and popular backpackers (just judging by the steady flow of guests I saw), the space feels neglected. It's clean, which is important, but a fresh coat of paint and a little TLC would go a long way. The kitchen cupboards are barely hanging on and could use a good clean. The reception area feels quite run-down and isn’t exactly inviting. There's a pool table, but it’s not usable, and the pool itself was so dirty that no one used it the entire time I was there. It’s a shame, because with a bit of care — like regular cleaning and a few comfy lounge chairs — the pool area could be a great spot to hang out. Overall, this place has so much potential. I really hope the owners consider investing in some basic upgrades to make it more welcoming for both guests and staff. It wouldn’t take much to bring it up a level.

Lovely hostel with reasonably priced accommodation and food (which was delicious). The rooms were clean and the vibes great to meet other travellers. Finally, the staff was very helpful 😊. I highly recommend it. Cheers from France 🙏

One star because of how the manager/owner treats people, so rude. I was having breakfast and left for 2 minutes to my room leaving all my belongings on the table next to my plate so that it was obvious that I was coming back. As I came back, someone had taken my plate. I ask where it is and they find it in the kitchen, but in the most rude manner the manager tells me there was not a lot left on my plate and basically tells me I’m stupid. Excuse me? Obviously if I started to eat my food the plate is not full anymore, still I’d like to finish my plate. This girl was so rude to me, not showing any respect at all. I don’t think guests should be treated like this, I’ve always been respectful, only asked if I could get my plate back as I wasn’t done eating. Instead of managing the situation in a nice way it was the guest’s fault. Very arrogant lady! Also didn’t say hello to any guest around while everyone else working there is acting normally. That’s a shame, being the manager, the example of how to treat people well should come from her.

I had stayed at this hostal a few years and thought it was cheap and cheery then but I found it run down this time around, The rooms were not clean, there was no hot water, the rooms are not light or soundproof.

I stayed here twice (June 2024 in a private room and Aug 2024 in a dorm). Nice place with a decent communal area and ok traveller vibes chatting to others. Well located near to East Park mall and good access to and from the airport. Main issue is that it has no generator so there's no power during Lusaka's many - at least in 2024 - powercuts. Food is slow. Overall decentish value for the price.

Great place for backpackers and budget travellers. Very friendly staff. Very nice garden, great atmosphere!

Such an amazing and comfortable place. It’s easy to forget that you’re amidst the busy city of Lusaka, yet all the best amenities are within walking distance. Upon my arrival I immediately felt at home and Miria, along with the other staff members were all so super accommodating. The property was always kept clean and the chefs made the meals with love 🫶🏽

Ok for a quick overnight stay, but the place needs much attention. The lack of generators meant there was no power for most of the stay due to load shedding by the electric utilities. (Impact--in addition to no light in the rooms, there was also no place to keep goods refrigerated.) The pool was a bit gross; it was not usable and had not been cleaned nor drained.
