They really have some of the absolute coolest things here! I’ve never purchased anything, just because it’s not my decor aesthetic, but I just love the history in their pieces! The shop owners are very friendly! Definitely a great place to visit!

This store is amazingly incredible in a fantastic way. The items very from $20/50 to $5000. Alot of new crafty driftwood home decor art. Tons of salvage nautical items! I could spend hours just browsing the cool items available. We were very happy with our experience and purchases.

Hands down, this is my favorite store in Texas. There is a mix of new and salvaged items, which I found fascinating. I'm one of those people that thinks everything tells a story, so as I walked through this store I was overwhelmed with the possibilities. I was very happy to hear they had a website--I can't wait to follow the store owners' journey as they travel the world to find more ship pieces to put in this shop.

Knowledgeable staff and really awesome REAL merchandise. You can feel the history behind each item. Its wonderful. You never know what your gonna see around the next corner. This place is full of nautical delights for everyone. The prices are commensurate to the value of the items so it's not cheap, but very reasonable.

I love this place. Their prices are quite good. Shop around online and they're nearly 50% less in most cases. It's like a little museum. I bought two nautical lights for a table lamp I'm building. The staff are nice and very helpful. I'll be back with my daughter soon as she'd love it.

Wow! What a store! This store will inspire you to get creative with nautical things! The items are amazing, and many of them have been repurposed. The displays are beautifully curated and it shows. Don't miss this place if you're in Galveston!

I was sad to hear that the owners were retiring and closing shop. Over the years I have shopped there and acquired a few small pieces. In looking around there are more large pieces from salvaged ships that will require large spaces to display then smaller items. Otherwise if In Galveston it's still worth going and having a look see.

This was our favorite store we visited while walking up and down the strand. Amid a say of tshirts and keychains, this place has unique, hand picked furniture and salvage from ships. It was so fun to browse, and we will definitely be back!

Really cool shop, and very reasonably priced. It is as much of a museum as a shop, with so many beautiful nautical treasures.

We were out walking last night and came upon this interesting nautical store, it had closed at 6. I came back today because a store like Nautical Antiques is a rare find! This place is packed with genuine nautical treasures and a few new items. They have everything the need to decorate your beach house or home. I picked up to signal flags "H" and "F" to represent our last name and one for gift to a friend. A must stop on any visit to the island!

Each time I visit their store I find unique items that make our beach house more beautiful! There products come From actually maritime vessels and are Not just cheap products, We got a matched pair of working brass nautical lights for the entrance to our beach home. BUY HERE Cheers DocWillis . org

Back in 2011 I visited this store and rated it only three stars. 2014 me thinks 2011 me was a bit of a moron because this store is one of the coolest I've ever visited. The store is packed with nautical items. If it was part of a ship, or was on a ship, it is highly likely that it is for sale here. Because there is so much in stock, it is a tad bit difficult to navigate the store. But that adds to the sense of adventure you get when searching through old ship lanterns or glass fishing floats. Many of the items are very expensive. The ships compass, ships bells and dugout canoe were all over $1,000. I was a little taken aback and then I realized how old some of the pieces were. How awesome would it be to have. A ships bell from a pre-WWII ship? There were also many items that were more reasonable, including the exit sign from an old Norweigian ship that now resides in my office. Another item that I am kicking myself for not buying was the place settings of plates and utensils from old ships. I realize most people would probably find it funky, but I think it would be awesome to eat on plates that have been all over the world via ship. I love this store. If I ever find myself back in Galveston it is an absolute certainty that I will come here.

Pricey but unique. Amazing array of nautical collectibles and antiques in this downtown shop. I spent an hour just looking though the store's stock which runs the gamut from bells to wheels, lamps and even hull plates. It can be easy to drop a few thousand $$$ here as bronze and brass salvage items aren't cheap. But quality at this shop is better than other stores I've visited on the East Coast.

The most AMAZING store I have ever been to! Perfect for decorating a beach house. I just couldn't stop picking stuff up. One of my most favorite things was all the things made with reclaimed boat wood...like this chair!!

What an incredibly cool store. If you are thinking about doing a nautical-theme of your home this is the it place. I understand that these people travel as far as Europe to get salvaged Parts off of boats. Check out these pictures!

It is shops like this that keeps me coming back to the island to explore. Man, this place is so cool. I stumbled into it today on a day trip to Galveston and I'm sure glad that I did. This place is stacked from floor to ceiling with all things nautical. If I were trying to outfit a beach or lake house, this would be the place to do it. If you were looking to decorate a new seafood restaurant, your search would be over. This is one of those shops where you never know what you are going to find around the next corner. What I like is that they have items in every price range. Sure, most of their stuff is quite pricey but it is of quality. You get what you pay for. I ended up leaving with a retired signal flag. It only cost me five bucks but I have a great story to tell. This store is a real gem. Check it out!

This place is really cool. A great collection of nautical items. If you are decorating a home with a nautical theme this is the place to shop. I don't know how competitive the prices are but wow there's some great stuff to look at.

Nautical Antiques is a really cool store that sells what else? Nautical antiques! I don't know how old some of their inventory is, but everything is in great condition and much of their stock looks like something you find in a museum. I really like coming here when I visit the Strand, but the store gets unbearably hot during the summer month and I can only stand to be in there so long. Organization doesn't seam to be a huge priority either, preventing me from giving this store a perfect review. Heat and organization issues aside, visiting Nautical Antiques is a must for anyone shopping in Strand and I would recommend this place to anyone in the Galveston area.

Two things: this place is really, really awesome and for the love of the god(s) of your choice, wear something that breathes if you go here in the summer. There are fans, and open doors, but golly! After reading a pretty great article in The Islander http://theislandermagazine.com/?p=2962 , I stopped by Nautical Antiques. I'll sum up the article if you're lazy, but really you should read it if you're hard-pressed to find some great places to shop in the Strand area. The list is of antique shops, but they're all fabulous. In fact, I think I hit about half of them based on the article alone. Summary: The owners travel to ship breaking yards all over the world to find items for their sizable shop. They are also a wholesaler to other antique shops and even movie sets who want nautical items. They collect things like oars, ship doors, flags, life rings, and glass net floats The picture of fish baskets and promise of ship lanterns and glass net floats wooed me. Yes, "like a siren song." There were scores of oars, lanterns, port holes, and flags. Don't get me started on the flags. There was an entire room of nylon. I would have gotten a closer look, but it was about 100 degrees outside, and 90 inside. Actually, that room severely reminded me of the hot yoga studio I go to. 104 degrees, 60 percent humidity. (It really makes it easier to hold the poses when your body is that warm.) Since I was not in sweat wicking garb, I just glanced in that direction. I'm not going to try to hide it, I contemplated getting a port hole. How awesome would that be in the wall? Or in the atrium next to your front door? At $200-$300, it just wasn't practical for right now. I also eyeballed a basket of glass net floats. There were a few with rope around them, but $12 was a bit too pricey. I'll think about them for the next three weeks, then I'll drive back to the shop and buy a couple. I know myself.

This is actually a really neat store to visit. It almost makes me want to nauticfy my living space. You can find everything from fishing poles to floating glass balls (which look beautiful hanging from the ceiling). Basically, if it comes from a ship, they're most likely to have it. I left thinking- Maybe I need a figurehead for my living room? Definitely worth a peek-in, even if you don't think you like being on a ship.

Had a wonderful experience! Great selection, and very friendly proprietors! Adrienne was very friendly and helpful as we browsed around the store during "Dickens on the Strand". Bought a large 4' x 3' wooden art piece, and she handled shipping the piece all the way back home to Alaska for me, and emailed me multiple times to ensure I had the tracking number, and that it arrived safely. Looking forward to doing business with them again! Thank you!

Neat place to browse on vacation, but unless you are a tourist this stuff isn't very difficult to procure on your own at a fraction of the cost. With that said, it is definitely worth taking a stroll through the shop.

We regularly spend our weekends on the island, and this is one store we never pass up when down by The Strand. They have an inventory that is reminiscent of the island's pirate days--oars, ships bells, ships doors, portholes, handles, nautical maps, flags, and decorative items for any aspect of your home or outdoor area. We like to dream up how to use items in our future house and were lucky enough to find a small, affordable teak wood grate from a boat or small ship. We brought it home, treated it, cut and stained some legs, and made ourselves an outdoor table that is so beautiful. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the items, which is great when you are thinking up ideas for how to use stuff. The one issue we have is that they can be a bit pricey for our budget, but we understand why given that they are bringing in salvaged items that will have a high price tag regardless of where they are sold. So we just keep perusing and save up for what we want. This is definitely a spot to stop and check out whether you are a local looking for great pieces to bring the ocean to your home or are visiting the island and want a little piece to take back with you.

Each November I visit Galveston and this is the first store I visit. The store is full of original and unique nautical items which the owners choose and gather from many places around the world. They are truly one of a kind. I've brought back many items for our beach house in Delaware. The folks who work there make it a memorable experience in that they really know about each item! Terrific and a pleasure!

This place is simply amazing. The shop owners are very knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are reasonable and selection is better than I've ever seen elsewhere. I appreciate that they mark items carefully to distinguish between new items and salvaged or antique items. I just wish we had more room in the car for more cool stuff!

Great, unique, and as Galveseton as a store gets. This is almost as much a museum as it a store with unique nautical pieces and decor. The owners are very nice and really love what they showcase. Its a must swing by everytime Im omn the island.

Love this place! It's really nice and has honestly anything from a boat you could want. The owners take these trips around the world buying all this cool stuff and sell it in their shop. Really neat things. A must stop if you're in Galveston.

I have lived on the water my whole life various places around the country and I've never been to a store like this. It's basically antique/used nautical stuff. If anybody has a nautical decorated home this place has the coolest stuff. From maps, life preservers, oars, bumpers, lights, port holes, and everything else you can think of. It's also a pintrister's dream store. There are so many things for good price you could craft into something awesome.

They get 5 stars for the awesome stuff that they have in their store. But Samara conditioning will be nice and the people were pretty rude when we started to bring you a nice drink they totally FLIPPED OUT over a 54 year old man with snow cone cup....

Great place for unusual nautical oddities. Prices seemed reasonable to me. Huge selection.

My little 5yo boy needed to potty very badly. We were refused service. Thankfully Murphy's Irish Pub was kind enough to allow him to go in. I will not be patronizing this store. Wish i could give a zero star rating for customer service. Maybe we would have purchased something. They will never know now.

Overall this is a great place. My experience there didn't start out well. the lady who apparently runs the place had quite an attitude when we first entered the store and was not very helpful . Almost as if it were a inconvenience for us to be there at all. After browsing for sometime a gentleman that worked there started helping us out and was a pleasure to deal with. This is a awesome store and a must to see. Princess !!!! Leave your attitude at home !!!!!

Wonderful store! They were very professional helping us pick out the decor we needed. They even caught a crack in a globe that we missed. Anyone who collects nautical things or loves nautical decor will love this store!!!
