On the Grid : Nauticus

"Another newcomer to up-and-coming Duke Street, Nauticus opened in summer 2018 and specialises in cocktails, as well as a curated offering of Scottish beers and ales. The theme - as the name would suggest - is heavily inspired by Leith’s rich seafaring history. Cue nautical knots and a full-sized brass divers helmet on display. Yet it’s not done in a tacky way and very much maintains a comfortable, local pub feel. They have some intriguing and unique cocktails available. Their ‘Marmite offering’ (love it or hate it) would have to be the Porridge Colada - a coconut washed Aberfeldy whisky with honey, oatmilk and pineapple. One of the cities finest drinking establishments." - fourcolourblack

Genuinely the most unusual cocktail menu I’ve seen! Really enjoyed how different the drink selection was. Very friendly staff.

Run by a team of hospitality legends this bar is everything you want to while away the perfect afternoon. A huge selection of whisky- as your bartender to you through their selection and match something to your taste, they really do know so much about each bottle. The cocktails are perfect. The decor stunning, the relaxed vibe welcoming. Flawless.

Everything about this bar rocks. The interior is welcoming and super cozy, the seating is comfy, The Grasshopper was one of the best cocktails I've ever tried, and the bartender(owner?) was very friendly and polite. Highly, highly recommended.

Really nice bar. Is it a cocktail bar? Is it a pub? To be honest, it felt like it was whatever you wanted it to be and was good at delivering. We had some great cocktails while other people were enjoying a beer. Nice staff and customers.

Among Best Speakeasy bars in Edinburgh. We stopped there after Britannia. We made a right choice. Cocktails were skillfully crafted and locally sourced. Great atmosphere with Nautical elements in the library. Everything you expect from a speakeasy! Bartenders are friendly and quick. Really enjoyable experience. Wish it was closer to Old town. It is a hike due to Leith location. But well worth it! Thank you. 🙏

On holiday from Australia just checking out the sights and came across this little gem. We decided to popped in for look and found ourselves staying for a few drinks. The atmosphere was relaxing as we sat in the cosy corner booth. You couldn't ask for a better place to sit a chill out. The hopitallity of staff was amazing, very friendly. I recommend more people check it out. Oh and the whisky was very nice on the pellet I do say 🥰
