Nautilus Bay Hotel & Restaurant

Fabulous hotel very close to a beautiful beach. Lovely views. The pool and bar area were spotless as was our room. The staff, especially Alessio and Isobella, were very friendly and couldn't have been more accommodating. Easy 10 minute walk into the small town center and there are plenty of other restaurants within easy walking distance along the beachfront. The resort was quiet when we were there from 24th September, but we liked that. We caught the local bus in to Chania which is a beautiful city and definitely worth a visit.

Nice hotel with beautiful sea view. Rooms are big and they have a small kitchen with a fridge and freezer. Friendly and helpful staff, they got me some gluten-free bread for the breakfast (ordered the day before). Nice beach in front and a pool with shallow end for the kids. Many restaurants by the beach can be found just a few minute walk from the hotel.

This was a great place to stay , we stayed for 8 nights at the beginning of October, it was very peaceful and the beach is just on the door step . The rooms are basic enough but very clean and you have a little kitchenette and kettle do you can have some food there if you want . The restaurant is really good especially the lunch and dinner. The staff are whet really make this place, Elena , Isabella and Allessi (not sure of spelling!) they are all so lovely and helpful. Highly recommended this hotel

This is a very special hotel....and I should know...I spent most of my life working around the world spending 100 to 150 nights a year in hotels - mainly 4 or 5 star.....and visited 62 countries, living in 4. I also spent a total of 5 months as a beach bum on the Greek Islands in 1973 / 74.....which triggered my initial love of the Greek Islands which was to remain with me throughout my life. |My 13th stay of 2+ weeks at Nautilus Bay since autumn 2014. Why do I return here each year ? Well..easy to explain:- Location...right by a beautiful sandy beach / bay (20 mtrs) for good swimming; tranquility - Kissamos has still not been developed as a major tourist hub; close by car to the famous west Cretan beaches; great staff; very clean room with an amazing panoramic view (rooms at front); a comfortable bed and a well-appointed room with good wi-fi and air-conditioning that functions well; good food - excellent breakfast selection...about 4 or 5 hot dishes - egg and bacon and Greek dishes - and all the cold cheeses, meats, yoghurt, fruit, cakes etc. in addition; a good selection of dishes are also offered for lunch and dinner at reasonable prices - Forteny is a great cook; pool kept clean by Tafik as is the beach; free sunbeds for guests; free parking. There are a selection of restaurants nearby....and a mini-market / supermarket. And not to forget the great owners and hosts George and Izabela. George also runs a sailing business offering daily tours to Balos on his 48 ft yacht...or the 46 ft one ! |A big thank you to all the wonderful staff:- Vanna, Forteny, Eleni, Alessio, Fiore, Evangelina, Mira, Marina and Tafik for looking after me so well. Great service ! |Never a problem travelling solo here.....so many interesting people to talk to....don't be afraid to strike up a chat ! I love people - one can learn a lot ! We stayed at this hotel in Kissamos, Chania with friends and family and had a really lovely experience. My husband, son, and I stayed in one of the larger rooms, and we were so impressed with the space—it was very clean, had two balconies, and the beds were huge and super comfortable. A highlight for me was the large mirror with a seating area and built-in light, perfect for doing makeup or getting ready. It’s a small detail, but it really made a difference! The hotel overall was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety, and the restaurant was a great option for both lunch and dinner—tasty food, plenty of choices, and affordable prices. The swimming pool was excellent, and we loved that the hotel also offers allocated beach chairs free of charge for guests—such a bonus to have everything set up for you at the beach. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the price—it was a bit pricey compared to other areas in Crete, even though we booked well in advance. It might just be the location, but something to keep in mind. That said, the friendly staff, excellent facilities, and especially the spacious, well-thought-out rooms made it a great stay. We would definitely consider coming back!

Something is special with this hotel, we feel like we are home 😊 This is our second stay here, and we already think about the next stay. The beach in front of the hotel, is very nice and clean very good for kids. The pool is very clean. The staff are really kind and helpfull. Thank you Nautilus bay for these few amazing days at Kissamos, we really appreciate this city 😍

Great 6 night stay May/Jun 2025. Whole place exceptionally clean including the pool / pool area. Exceptionally helpful receptionist, with good recommendations about places to visit and best routes. All other staff also really helpful and courteous. Breakfast mostly Cretan, varied, buffet style; although modest choices, there was ample and we enjoyed it. Just a few steps from sandy beach and beach loungers (use included). Pool a good size for swimming. The small river adjacent to road had almost no flow, and is not overly attractive, but had an amazing evening chorus of frogs, which we enjoyed. Main road through Kissamos is not attractive, but the old town square and associated streets and the archeology museum are a must. Great location for visiting western Crete, especially with a car. Fully intend to return.

Perfect place to stay in Creta. The hotel is beautiful, hosts more than welcoming, food in a restaurant delicious and private beach you want to stay for ever.
