Nautilus Bay Hotel & Restaurant

Great 6 night stay May/Jun 2025. Whole place exceptionally clean including the pool / pool area. Exceptionally helpful receptionist, with good recommendations about places to visit and best routes. All other staff also really helpful and courteous. Breakfast mostly Cretan, varied, buffet style; although modest choices, there was ample and we enjoyed it. Just a few steps from sandy beach and beach loungers (use included). Pool a good size for swimming. The small river adjacent to road had almost no flow, and is not overly attractive, but had an amazing evening chorus of frogs, which we enjoyed. Main road through Kissamos is not attractive, but the old town square and associated streets and the archeology museum are a must. Great location for visiting western Crete, especially with a car. Fully intend to return.

We stayed at this hotel in Kissamos, Chania with friends and family and had a really lovely experience. My husband, son, and I stayed in one of the larger rooms, and we were so impressed with the space—it was very clean, had two balconies, and the beds were huge and super comfortable. A highlight for me was the large mirror with a seating area and built-in light, perfect for doing makeup or getting ready. It’s a small detail, but it really made a difference! The hotel overall was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety, and the restaurant was a great option for both lunch and dinner—tasty food, plenty of choices, and affordable prices. The swimming pool was excellent, and we loved that the hotel also offers allocated beach chairs free of charge for guests—such a bonus to have everything set up for you at the beach. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the price—it was a bit pricey compared to other areas in Crete, even though we booked well in advance. It might just be the location, but something to keep in mind. That said, the friendly staff, excellent facilities, and especially the spacious, well-thought-out rooms made it a great stay. We would definitely consider coming back!

Something is special with this hotel, we feel like we are home 😊 This is our second stay here, and we already think about the next stay. The beach in front of the hotel, is very nice and clean very good for kids. The pool is very clean. The staff are really kind and helpfull. Perfect place to stay in Creta. The hotel is beautiful, hosts more than welcoming, food in a restaurant delicious and private beach you want to stay for ever.

My twelth long stay (2 weeks +) in the last ten years at this friendly hotel in Kissamos.... Why I keep returning to this property ? - Great location on a sandy beach (30 mtrs) - perfect for swimming also for kids, friendly helpful staff and owners, large clean room with a great 180 degree view of the bay if you choose a Superior Studio with Sea View (Rooms 29 and 28 are the best), wonderful breakfast with a great selection of hot and cold dishes, well cooked tasty meals for lunch and dinner by the resident chef Fortiny - in addition there are a selection of good restaurants along the promenade only a few hundred meters away and also further along the beach the other way, well appointed very clean large rooms with efficient air-conditioning and a kitchenette, a comfortable bed, good wi-fi and a large balcony with table and chairs. Free sun beds and parasoles on the beach for guests...the hotel supplies beach towels to guests. Free parking. Good bus service available. Many friendly talkative fellow guests ! - one never feels lonely even when travelling alone. Always some interesting people around...from all over the world. An outdoor bar and a great good-sized pool. A mini-market and a large supermarket nearby within walking distance. A wonderful base for visiting the famous beaches and sights of western Crete. A big thank you to all the staff and owners for another very enjoyable three week stay now from late May to mid June. What more could you want ? R

When we come to Greece, we always try to stay and eat at family owned businesses. The Nautilus Bay Hotel is a true gem. We received a very friendly welcome. Daily checks, if everything was well, if we needed anything. We very much enjoyed the seaside breakfast (buffet), took walks along the beach and used the sunbeds before going out to explore the island. Anytime again.

Great hotel within steps of the beach. What makes this hotel is the staff! Wonderful people. The room was so clean! Breakfast was great! Different options every morning. Loved having the staff come to the beach and offer drinks. We ate dinner there the first night we got in after traveling 27 hours and it was great! Room was very large. Loved sitting on the balcony every morning looking at the water!
