Sewer to far from usability, sites are tight small length for big rigs unless use #71,54

First time camping at this lake. The views were amazing, we stayed near the marina and there were plenty of places to go hiking, kayaking. We will definitely be visiting again next summer.

We had C33, C34 and C35 in pine main. It was such a beautiful spot with amazing views of the lake. Like most campsites here, it’s a hike down the hill to the water but worth it. If toy have small babies I would suggest a different site since it’s right on the edge. All sites had non-movable tables, covered patio area, grill and fire rings, and trees to shade. Playground is well kept, bathrooms with showers are clean, camp host is super friendly.

August 27th - beware of lots of broken glass! we were in juniper loop, J7 The campgrounds are well maintained and the view is beautiful. Note there is no access to the lake from this loop except on trails made by campers. Since those trails aren’t maintained, unfortunately, the hillside by our site was covered in big shards of broken glass. If you have a dog, I would carry them if you decide to walk the hillside down to the water’s edge Other than the glass, no complaints

**Review for site A09** Extremely off level. Even with two sets of blocks, I was unable to get level. There is no shelter. The pad is so narrow there is only 1 ft or less on door side, so I could not put out the large mat for an outdoor living area. The table is burnt in one spot and us on the sewage/utility side. My sewage connections are about 2' above ground level so no amount of support is enough. It says up to 30', but I'm 26.5' + bike rack and barely fit. I feel like my nose is in the road. I'd say 24' max self- contained. If you are towing there is nowhere to park your vehicle. The reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1: full hook-ups.

Camp ground was awesome. Just the size we needed in camping space. My husband did see a scorpion at night. Views are beautiful. Seen lots of wild life. Would definitely go again.

Yelp
This is a large lake reservoir! There are great campgrounds and facilities surrounding the lake. There is also a marina with fun activities and rentals with a store and seasonal cafe. There are also some hiking trails connecting the campground areas to the lake. Much if the lake is surrounded by steep cliffs and there aren't , currently, many sandy beach areas, due to the water level dropping, but it is still a nice place to visit!

Yelp
Cotton Wood camp ground is where we stay when we go to Navajo State park. Plenty of camping spots to choose from just make sure you make reservations first before going up. San Juan river is within walking distance from the camp ground. Never had a bad stay here. Bathrooms are always clean and the park is also kept clean of trash.

Yelp
These campgrounds are all closed!! Do not try to find them we just spent hours trying to find them and all signage was nonexistent and nothing saying they were closed until we actually finally found them and Cottonwood campground is closed as well, so disappointed

Yelp
It's not their fault that the water has dropped 20' in 2 years, but they told us how close we were to the water so our kids could paddleboard! They failed to mention the 80' cliff to get to said beach. We had to drive 3 miles to the dirt/dusty beach to play. BUT the jet ski operation saved the vacation. The teenagers who ran it were professional, courteous and informative.

Yelp
Park is extremely spread out, and if anyone actually works there, it was not apparent. I chose this park b/c it was on a lake and website indicated a reasonable price for primitive camping. After treking out into the middle of no where, I was treated to spectacular views of both the dam and the lake. That was the only treat afforded me. The primitive camping areas were empty, and it was easy to see why. My manual transmition Scion struggled to pull the rocky, uneven hills, and the rough roads caused undercarriage damage. Sights were tiny and no showers were nearby. Worst of all... lake access required a drive. A couple of pretty views in a picturesque part of the country was not worth the effort. I would skip this park... definitely wasted my time.

Yelp
The cottonwood camp was ok on the SAN JUAN RIVER People that fished the river would leave their trash for someone else to Clean up they let their dog sh-t and just leave it Had a group the last night was there on July 30th start playing their Stereo From 5 o'clock in the afternoon till 1am in the morning You could hear the Stereo in Aztec that is how loud they had it camp host did not respond or do anything Ranger Richard Badge 441 was totally useless he was a real A- Hole And his boss who would not give his name just only The phone number 505-490-5467 he was just another A-Hole his reply was I am not there I don't know was going on But after traveling to other state parks the people I have talk to said they have heard horror stories about the people that work there So State of New Mexico you might want to check into The place I had to give it A 1 star rating or else I could not continue Not all but most of the people that use the campground on the weekend act like it's their first day out of the ghetto low of the low life Again State of New Mexico check into this place

Yelp
This park is incredibly difficult to find. It is spread out over dozens of square miles around the various "arms" of Navajo Lake. I mistakenly went to a "something" Mesa campground in the park which led me 40 miles out of the way. There is non-existent signage at every critical road and intersection. Repeated calls for directions to the park office yielded only a recording saying no one was in the office. There was only one water spigot for every 4 or 5 sites. Pretty awful roads to get out here. The cottonwoods are tall and pretty and better than one half of the sites have no shade. To be fair, my bad experience was partly because of immediate circumstances: The sites are too close the too exposed to each other. One huge RV rig came late at night and ran their big diesel for nearly an hour, blocking the road right in front of my site. And a large family had a big, smoky fire which blew directly into my campervan all night. NO showers. Reserve America, which does the bookings for the state of New Mexico does an AWFUL job telling what each park has and does not have. If I had known there were no showers, I would not have gone so far out of my way to stay.
