"Na'vi River Journey is a beautiful, calm boat ride with a truly impressive animatronic figure and stunning scenery, but it's a little short and the wait times can get pretty lengthy." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Google
The wait is very long, the ride very short. While it has some nice features, I like that it lacks polish and isn't surprising. I could have left it out, and that's fine.

Dan Perez

Google
My recent visit to the Na'vi River Journey in June was disappointing. The ride's main draw, the impressive Na'vi Shaman animatronic, was replaced with a video screen due to repairs. Given the typical 50+ minute wait, I believe it would be preferable to close the attraction during such significant maintenance rather than have guests wait for a diminished experience. While the lighting effects are beautiful, the absence of the animatronic significantly lowers the ride's appeal.

Google
The Na’vi River Journey is an amazing ride! It is so immersive and beautiful. The theming is incredible and the animatronics are top notch. The ride itself is smooth and relaxing, making it a great experience for everyone. I highly recommend this ride to anyone who is visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Google
Beautiful, vibrant, and full of color! The details are stunning, and the music is very soothing. It's also a nice break from the Florida heat, as the Cave feels cool and the river ride is very relaxing. We absolutely love it!

Jeff Pinar

Google
Take a mystical journey deep into Pandora bioluminescent rainforest. Experience all the sights and sounds from an enchanting slow water ride to escape the Florida heat. All ages and sizes will love this not to be missed adventure.

Heather LaGuardia

Google
Yeah I don't get the hype of the ride. People love this ride talk up how great it is and yeah it's very meh. At the end of it my family member turned to me and asked when it was going to start and had to laugh and say that was it. I feel as a pre show ride it might have been good but glad didn't have to wait in the usual long line for this. Maybe it's great for the die hard avatar fan but definitely one and done

Google
Lasts a few minutes Takes hours in line They let in about 40 lightning line vs less than 10 standby q it wasn't fun , we were told "but they paid ! " As if we hadn't paid hundreds for park tickets !!?? Once on its UV light plastic plants with 1 robot character a few screens showing creatures and characters . It really isn't worth the wait , and to think people paid "extra" for it , ouch.

Amazing beautiful Avatar ride at Animal Kingdom, it was worth the wait.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of the Avatar movie franchise. I am also known for only agreeing to ride relatively bland kiddy rides. So I find the Na'vi River Journey through the bioluminescent forest very captivating. For what it is, I am always shocked that the line is 45 minutes+ for the majority of the day. Luckily, it is pretty visually detailed during the wait, but I would still recommend a fast pass if possible. The ride is peaceful. You are surrounded by lots of animals and flora in the water, on land, and in the air. The woodsprites gently hover around you. A audio-animatronic shaman is featured near end singing and swaying fluidly. Overall it's breathtaking. But disclaimer to other Disneygoers, it is extremely dark, pretty short, not thrilling, and there is no particular storyline.

Helene S.

Yelp
Na'vi River Journey. Take a very serene scenic float through a visually stunning bioluminescent rainforest filled with magical views along the river cruise. Part of the wonder of Pandora-The World of Avatar is imagination. Imagine leaving your worries behind as you float through caves to hear the voice of the legendary Na'vi Shaman of Songs. Sending positive energy to you. To the rainforest. To Pandora. It is not a high energy ride like Avatar: Flight of Passage. It is more subtle. More surreal. Dreamy. Enjoy the serenity and calm as you leave your cares behind and escape the hustle and bustle of the outside world. Na'vi River Journey. N.B. A special thanks to the best tour guide, Athena. She really knew how to navigate our day. It truly was legendary. The magic of Disney.

Karen V.

Yelp
I've never seen any of the Avatar movies. I can't really tell you if the theme is spot on, or not. All I can say is that it was a slow boat ride through what looked like a psychedelic rain forest at night. It could have been the ocean. I don't really know. It reminded me too much of Frozen Ever After at EPCOT, only there were no splashes or backward motions. One is tropical, and the other is wintery. There's a story, I think. There's a projected avatar (the Shaman of Songs?) on a screen singing or chanting. The butterflies and jelly fish looking creatures are all illuminated. Its a beautiful display of color and light. You'll probably love it if you're an Avatar fan. It's a popular ride in the land called Pandora - The World of Avatar. It may be worth the wait if you're into all of that. I'm thinking Avatar Flight of Passage is the better ride in this section of Animal Kingdom if you have to pick just one ride.

Ryker G.

Yelp
Na'vi River Journey is a truly magical experience. The ride is peaceful and immersive, taking you through stunning scenes of the Pandoran rainforest. The vibrant colors, detailed animatronics, and soft music create a calming atmosphere. It's a perfect ride to relax and take in the beauty of Pandora. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a serene, yet breathtaking, adventure.

Mike B.

Yelp
Oh man this ride is SO DUMB! The best part of the ride was GETTING OFF OF IT! Thank goodness we had the lightning lane but what a disappointment! It's literally a lazy river full of stuff from the movie Avatar. Unless you're a huge Avatar fan, skip this ride unless you're looking to get away from the heat! It's boring, it's slow and it's short. Don't say I didn't warn you, this ride is not worth waiting at all for!!!

Ame G.

Yelp
Like all of Pandora in Disney's Animal Kingdom, this ride is a modern marvel. The engineering and hard work that went into creating this special place is nothing short of amazing. I enjoyed "meeting" Mo'at and admiring what is reportedly Disney's most technical and expensive animatronic to date. This ride was an enjoyable and relaxing visit among the wonderful and immersive world of Pandora.

John G.

Yelp
Beautiful setup nice slow river ride with lots of displays with special effects! Downside 60minute wait for about a 15 minute ride! Definitely if your visiting this is an early morning try to get to park early ride! You might want to take in the Avatar Flight of Passage first!

Monique W.

Yelp
Na'vi River Journey is a slow water ride, located in Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme park. This and the Avatar, flights of passage, is one of the more popular rides in Animal Kingdom! I'd recommend trying to go on this ride first thing in the morning or wait until the evening hours. If you have Disney Genie+, you can get a genie+ for Na'vi River Journey. This ride is for all ages. It's a slow, dark, water ride and one of the most beautiful rides in Animal Kingdom! If you take a video on your phone, you'll see a lot more of the lights from the ride on the video capture! It's pretty cool! As you go on this journey, you'll see a variety of visually stunning bioluminescent recreation of a rainforest. You'll see some of the exotic plants and creatures from the Avatar world! Towards the end of the ride, you'll see the Na'vi Shaman of Songs. This is by far one of the best animatronics I've seen at Disney World! If you're visiting Animal Kingdom, I'd highly recommend going on the Na'vi River Journey!

Brian F.

Yelp
Na'vi River Journey is located in the Pandora section of Animal Kingdom. It's not as popular as other rides in the park and it's next to Avatar Flight of Passage which is one of the most popular rides. It was a slow boat ride in the dark which was a far step down after flying in Pandora. If it's a long line, I'd skip this. If it's a short line, I'd stop by just because of its close proximity.

Britney M.

Yelp
Beautiful and peace! This ride is not for thrill-seekers lol This is for those that want to kick back, relax and enjoy the pretty surroundings. The colors of blue and purple are gorgeous in the cave. The cool thing about this ride is that anyone can ride it- young and old. Abd me; the out of shape lol It is fairly comfortable, and no rapid turns or quick anything. The perfect ride for me lolol I just loved all the darkness, I think. I am such a vampire lol

Maureen D.

Yelp
I found it kind of boring - pretty scenery but would have liked to see more "active" scenes/figures.

Annie N.

Yelp
This is probably one of the most calming rides at Disney. This boat ride is located in Disney's Animal Kingdom in the Pandora area. When this area first opened, it was highly confused with the Flights of Passage. This is not the main high energy ride that the commercials show. That is Flights of Passage. Na'vi River Journey is the other ride and one of my favorites. It is calm, very dark, cool inside, lots of colors, great music and a really great boat ride. I love this especially in the summer when it is 105 degrees outside. This ride takes you on a journey through the world of Avatar. It is very dark inside, so if kids do not like the dark, this might scare them. It is mostly music and scenery. There is only 1 animatronic at the end and he is large! I like to listen to the sounds and the music of the ride and also see the beautiful colors. My only complaint about this ride is it is short. If you have waited almost an hour, then this less than 5-minute ride is a huge disappointment. On a hot day my husband usually falls asleep. I do wish this ride was longer or had a drop in there, just something more exciting. This is definitely geared towards the people that just want to sit. With that being said, again, this is one of my personal favorites. I love the atmosphere, the colors, the sounds, the music and the feel of being in Pandora. The boats are not too bad, there is plenty of leg room which a lot of Disney boat rides lack. I definitely recommend trying this ride, but don't want too long for it. Go back at night when the line is much shorter.

Babette C.

Yelp
This animatronic dark ride is good for getting out of the sun or rain and for those weirdos who want to live in Pandora because it's beautiful, but kinda tedious. I'm not one of those people who wishes they could live in Pandora and I also hate the Avatar movies, so this really wasn't for me, but I tried to stay open minded to whether the ride was at least enchanting or entertaining. It was not. I would ride this before getting on Flight of Passage, the other Avatar ride because after riding that, Na'vi River is a letdown.

Maggie H.

Yelp
Na'vi River Journey was a cool dark ride with a fun series of waiting areas that reminded me of Spencer's Gifts c. 1997. So much darkness and glow in the darkness! My eyes enjoyed having a rest from the Florida sunshine and from crazy LED lights. The ride itself has more glow-in-the-darkness and that's most of what I remember about it. This may have been my favorite dark ride of the entire 5-day trip. And I don't even know the Avatar franchise! The ride earns 4 stars rather than 5 because my river journey travel companion and I agreed that the ride seemed just a little short. We felt at least one more scene/turn would have put it just about ride. Maybe it was plenty long indeed, though, and we just liked it so much that we wanted more.

Kimberly K.

Yelp
Personally, Na'vi River Journey is one of my favorite rides at Disney. I know a lot of people think it's a boring boat ride, but out of all the boat rides, it's the best one! I feel like the imagineers did such an incredible job making it so immersive; it feels like I am literally in Pandora.

Hank C.

Yelp
This is a ride I can say reminds me of going to a museum for little kids... it gets boring fast. The ride itself is like a small world, boat and various screens, lights, movement replicate some of the flora and fauna, but there's only one Na'vi at the end and even that isn't so close - amazing animatronics, though, hyper-real though I expected a bit bigger to fit the size. Lots of lights and sounds and not much movement otherwise. Wish there were more across the ride line as it would've been more interesting. Sleepy ride, good for little kids, but mostly dark and UV-fluorescence around makes it... boring after the Avatar Passage of Flight ride. Still healthy wait times on a Monday, 30-40min. Genie+ had it available regularly in the afternoon within 10min of checking.

Patrick V.

Yelp
The multimillion dollar animatronic that everyone goes on the ride to see is not there and there is no visible postage or otherwise that me or my party could find stating that. we waited over an hour to see a flat video of it and the Ride isn't worth the wait without it. Very disappointed in my experience and Disney worlds staff

Deiro P.

Yelp
The ride was very cool and you could tell they put a lot of effort into making it pleasing to the eye, which it was. I believe it still could have been more immersive, maybe some more sounds, smells, or shaking the vessel you're on a bit. Something a little more negative is that the ride kept getting stuck and we had to wait around 15 to even get off...

Brett J.

Yelp
A calming trip down a lazy river that will overload your visual senses. It is like you are taking a canoe ride through pandora. The lights and the special affects are awesome! The ride is a bit slow... needed at times after all of the other thrilling rides, but ride this one before you go and do the thrilling stuff. It is worth it but when your family is charged up it might be a bit too slow for your younger ones. My boys liked it, but they would have liked it more if they had done this one before some of the thrilling rides. About half way through it was more like "when is this over?". It is a visual spectacular for sure! If you liked Avatar the movie this is a must see.

Benny H.

Yelp
A pretty slow paced ride with a long wait. The animatronics are great, but there aren't that many. Was hoping for more. Still it's good for a visit especially for Avatar fans.

Florence C.

Yelp
A calm boat ride with visual delights! If you're not into being splashed, shaken, nor stirred, this one's for you! My family of 4 was still suffering with nausea from the "Mission: SPACE" ride at Epcot so this was perfect. We "lightning laned" it via Disney app so that we were able to get on it within 10 minutes versus 60 and all fit in one row. While I found the ride a bit short and lacking in major sights, there are constant scenes and creatures with glowing neon-like colors and some animatronics that wowed me. A great little trip!

Meg T.

Yelp
Just like you've probably guessed, the Na'vi River Journey is not worth the stressful wait. The poor experience is compounded by the fact that you'll be surrounded by crying or antsy one to two year olds who don't want to move forward in the very very very long line. Disney heavily relies on CGI for the ride, and it's missing most of the animatronics that make Pirates or Small World well loved and popular. It would be much more successful as a walking tunnel similar to an aquarium and I anticipate them heavily changing it in the years to come.

Anthony F.

Yelp
This is basically it's a small world after all without the annoying song and replaced nicer looking props etc. only a fan of the avatar franchise would enjoy this ride. And I'm only rating it harshly because it's such a meh ride but the wait is avg 60 mins? Are ppl crazy?

Megan L.

Yelp
This ride is cool. It's a relaxing ride and it feels like you're in the movie. I wish there was a hill or something to make it a little more thrilling. The boats are small and don't hold that many people so the line takes forever.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
It's like a small world ride at Magic Kingdom but Avatar journey on the river theme. A lot of lights going on. Nice for kids. If you're on a time crunch and the long wait in line, it can be skippable.

Lisa M.

Yelp
We didn't realize we were in the line for this ride until we literally got to the part you climb in the boat. Due to very poor signage we thought we were in line for flight of passage. Beware! This ride is the biggest waste of money and time that disney has ever made. My entire family was pissed when we got off.

Michelle L.

Yelp
If you have Lightning Lane and not much else to do in Animal Kingdom, sure sign up. If you don't, just wait in line for the other Avatar ride, Flight of Passage. Everything you see in this slow moving water ride is essentially the plant life and rocks you'll see just IN THE LINE of the other ride. The only thing that's added to it is music, a few screens (the only time you'll really see any creatures), and 1 animatronic Na'Vi. I'd actually cry if I waited the full 80 minutes for this forest tour.

Pravash M.

Yelp
Not a thrill ride but still entertaining and family friendly. Slow boat cruise down a river in the dark with creatures and characters from Pandora. Doing so in a mask during our (covid) Christmas 2020 visit did not affect the experience. Teens and heckling adults may think it cringy, but if it's hot outside or drizzling, this is a great reprieve. PRO TIPS: We arrived at rope drop and immediately went to Avatar flight of passage, a move the majority of people make. Na'vi will actually have 0 wait UNTIL everyone inevitably gets off of Avatar and funnels there. Even if you've already cleared Pandora in the daytime, you MUST return when it gets dark. It's thoughtfully immersive with sounds and neon visuals, essentially bringing the boat ride onto land for walking through at your own pace. Great photo Ops for a lifetime of memories.

Jacky C.

Yelp
This is not the most exciting ride, but they did a terrific job with all the visuals. Never seen an Avatar movie, so can't relate if it's from a specific part of Pandora. This is for you when you just want to get out of the hot sun and relax your feet for a few minutes.

Aly W.

Yelp
Definitely worth a ride if the queue is less than 10 minutes. It's pretty and relaxing and the shaman at the end and all the floating jelly fish are cool, but it is not a thrill ride by any stretch of the imagination.

Codie Nicole A.

Yelp
I'm pretty torn on this only because the visuals on this ride were so amazing and eye catching! All of the beautiful colors captivating you while the calmness of the water guides you along the journey. Now I get it went slow so you could take everything in, but in my opinion it was a bit slow. Then before you know it the ride is over, I felt like it went insanely fast for what it was. I waited about 45 mins and the line felt like it moved quickly. I really appreciated the water refill start and water sale station.

Jonathan Z.

Yelp
Na'vi River Journey is one of those rides you take to avoid the sun. You get to sit on a boat in an air conditioned environment and enjoy what it would feel like to live in the movie Avatar (not the Last Air Bender). The ride immerses you in Pandora with all the beautiful vegetation and you get to meet some alien life along the way.

Johnelle C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this calm boat ride.  It takes you up close to experience the world of Avatar.  My favorite part is enjoying the beautiful colors and listening to the sounds of nature.  It is amazing how realistic everything looked.  This a nice kid friendly ride to relax and cool off from a hot day.

Jeff Y.

Yelp
This ride is so confusing - what even is it? It's nice to look at but zero story. Confused.

Karen N.

Yelp
Take the ride to cool down. It is very colorful and there are lots of things to look at. I almost jumped out of the boat to see how the magical jellyfish worked. They rise and fall out of thin air. They reminded me of the magic carpet ride at the end of the Broadway show called Aladdin. That is Disney magic for you.

Ashley J.

Yelp
This was a dark ride with lots of vibrant colors. It's also a slow ride. It is for all ages and goes slow. We rode it with our 3 month old and 2 year old.

Tairyn A.

Yelp
After you ride Flight of Passage, this ride feels like a thousand years old! Is is a small moving boat that goes through a jungle like cavern. Yes, the technology and semi wow factor are there. It has far better visuals than any other boat ride at Disney, but it is a little boring too. If you have the choice to wait for this ride or Frozen at Epcot, do Frozen. We initially thought we would wait two hours, and after waiting over four for flight of passage, it seemed OK. I was glad that we ended up only waiting one hour. (They were stuffing us in those boats like sardines) this ride in NOT worth a two hour wait.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Na'vi River Journey is one of two rides in Pandora - the World of Avatar. It's appropriate for all ages as it's simply a boat ride floating (at Small World speeds) through a dark ride expedition. I say expedition, but really, you're not on any type of actual mission. There is no plot to this ride at all. I think it's actually a bit disappointing because if there's not going to be any story line and you're simply taking in all the sights, this ride should be longer. Don't get me wrong, the sights are beautiful and sometimes awe-inspiring but just as you're relaxing into the whole scene, boom! It's over! It's 4 minutes and 30 seconds long. And when I was at Disney during slow season, the wait would be 2.5 hours most days. If you wait that long, you are insane. It's not THAT good of a ride. It is absolutely worth riding though if the wait is 30 minutes or less though I don't see that kind of wait time in the foreseeable future. That being said, PRO TIP: At Animal Kingdom rope drop, head straight to Pandora and ride this ride. Get your FP for Flight of Passage which has much longer waits (3.5 hours) and even waits longer than an hour before the park opens. Don't use a FP on this unless you must and simply go ride it before the other massive amounts of humans do. As with most rides & shows at Disney, I don't want to ruin things for you as it's best to truly experience it for yourself. In short though, this boat ride will take you through the gorgeous rainforest in Pandora ending with you meeting the Shaman singing a Na'vi chant praising the forest. She is the most advanced audio animatronic Disney has made to date and it's legit. She moves like a human being but is huge because...duh...she's a Na'vi. Aside from the Shaman, there is a whole lot of cool technology going on with this ride. Trust. Again, not going to spoil it, but just put your faith in me on this one. This ride is super chill so I could see how some find it 'boring'. I rode it a few times though and didn't get tired of looking at all around me and picking up different little things on each pass-through. Take in the wonder around you and you'll enjoy it.

Kara M.

Yelp
I was well aware of the insane wait times for this new ride, so when I saw a fast pass I snatched it up! On the evening I visited the wait was a 110 minutes! Having now been on the ride, I would say this attraction is at most worth 30-40 mins in line (even if you are an Avatar fan). I'll be totally honest, I have never seen the movie Avatar. I actually skipped it when I had the chance to go to the theater with friends years ago. I love action movies, but I am not much of a sci-fi person. An important point... I had been to the Frozen Sing Along at Hollywood Studios the day before this ride. I have never seen that movie, but I left the attraction wanting to see it. I feel like that is the impression these rides should leave on you. Na'vi River didn't impress me enough to want to rent Avatar. This is a cool ride even for someone who is not an Avatar fan. I personally would wait up to 20 minutes to go on it, but that's my threshold for waiting in general at the parks. The ride is not thrilling, it's a boat ride like Pirates or Small World. I did love all of the bright colors. This was definitely stimulation overload, but in a good way. You see various Avatar characters as you sail through. It's probably fine for young children, I didn't think the ride was particularly intense (or dark) like Dinosaur. I probably won't be back on this until the hype dies down.

Andi P.

Yelp
4 Stars for a visually stunning boat ride that won't offer typical amusement park thrills but will make up for it in the best animatronics display you've ever seen. Ever. Like, I thought there was a legit giant blue person singing and dancing in front of us. But before that, be aware that this is less amusement park ride than a chance to be visually wowed by the world that is presented to you in its approx 5 minute run time. By run, I of course mean slowly float. This ride is slow. And you'll be happy it is when you are looking right to left to take in all the beauty. And especially when that animatronic Pandora being (I haven't seen the movie so I don't know the proper name) comes into view. Truly brilliant work that had us all asking, "is that a person?? That can't be a robot. There's no way." Fluid motion and a face that looks too real will blow your mind. No need for quick turns or cheap thrills on this float when you're mesmerized by a blue giant with crossed legs, waving and singing. I loved this ride but have to add the caveat that I only waited 15 minutes for it due to a limited special event (Moonlight Magic). Would I wait more than 40 minutes for it? I'm not sure...

Johnny W.

Yelp
This ride has gotten a bad rap because the other Avatar attraction (Flight of Passage) is so much better! This ride also opened on May 27th, 2017; so the wait time is still really long. It's best to get a FastPass for this boat ride, but you'll need to get it days in advance. To get your FastPass early, you'll need to have a ticket or an admission pass already, then you can book a FastPass up to 30-days in advance. If you're also staying at a Disney Resort, you can request a FastPass up to 60-days in advance. If you don't get a FastPass, the standby wait time can be over an hour, which this ride will disappoint you, especially if you already rode "Avatar's Flight of Passage". This boat ride isn't bad, but it's only worth up to about a 30-minute wait. Also, it's disappointing that there is no creativity in their queue line. You literally just walk in a circle the entire time, unlike the queue line for the other Avatar attraction. As for the boat ride, there are no drops. It's also completely indoors, so there is no need to ride this in the evening for the gorgeous visuals of Pandora. My recommendation is to get a FastPass for this ride, or hope that the standby wait time is less than half an hour. Even before the park closes, I still recommend "Flight of Passage" as your final ride of the evening.

Stacy F.

Yelp
A beautiful ride but very anti climactic. The best portion of the ride is towards the end, when it really looks great. However, if I had waited the 90 minute standby time and not had an express pass I probably would have been annoyed at how uneventful this ride is. The pretext is that you're riding down a river in Pandora itself and it has a relaxing colorful vibe throughout with us of soft music and black lights. They use projector screens for a few animals that show up along the ride. The screens were pretty standard and nothing new for disney rides. Overall: B- Not worth a 90 min wait but worth an express pass ride.

Chris W.

Yelp
I liked it but I definitely didn't love it. The Na'Vi River Journey is the "family friendly" alternative to the thrilling Flight of Passage ride located next door. The queue for this one is kind of strange. It almost feels as if they spent 98% of the budget on the one for Flight of Passage. You walk past some plants, a small waterfall, wrap around under a covered outside area and that's pretty much it. I was surprised when I saw how small the boats were. It's three people packed tightly into a row with each boat only having two rows. The boat ride takes you through the bioluminescent forest from the film. Some inhabitants of the forest are animatronics and some are projections on a screen. Some effects definitely work better than others. The highlight of the journey is unquestionably the Shaman of Songs at the end. Describing her as a next generation animatronic is similar to saying that Eric Clapton is a competent guitarist. The way that her arms and fingers move along with her detailed facial expressions is unbelievable. Unlike other rides such as Frozen Ever After where characters make multiple appearances you only see the shaman once on the ride and then it's over. The first time I rode this ride when it was over I remember thinking, "Oh, that's all?" With Flight of Passage I would say wait however long it takes to ride it because that ride is unbelievable. With the Na'Vi River journey it's more of tough call. I will ride it again but I wouldn't wait a long time to do so.

Aimee W.

Yelp
This was one of the most beautiful sceneries in Animal Kingdom! The wait can be very lengthy but they have an efficient system and make it move! The views are so beautiful and makes the wait more pleasant. This ride is any height and handicap accessible. Our grandpa rode his scooter all the way to the front and then they take it to park for us while riding. The ride isn't incredibly long but it's so breathtaking and makes the movie Avatar come to life! We would have ridden this multiple times if we had more time here. We took our infant as well on it and he loved all the lights and music!

Yelp
Within Pandora are two main attractions, this river journey and flight of passage. This line is a bit shorter but is a good idea for your fast pass if the other one isn't best for your group. We waited at least 45 minutes but standby was generally posted as 60+ minutes. While the line was boring, I appreciated it was covered and shady, plus large fans were positioned in several spots. The boat ride isn't terribly long and doesn't feature many characters. Lots of pretty lights and music in the background. It does end with a huge avatar and he's impressive but my family agreed it wasn't worth waiting for the experience.

Yelp
After you've had too much pulled pork & ribs from Flame Tree BBQ, you come to the Na'vi River Journey to ride off your food coma. It's a slow, flat, river ride which is nice if you want a relaxing experience without getting wet. The visuals and the various colors you see on this ride are stunning. I did have a FastPass to this but would say that this ride is not worth waiting more than 30-40 minutes for since the ride was short. Again, this will not be the most thrilling attraction (no drops) compared to a Frozen Ever After or Pirates...but it's perfect for chilling after that food coma! TIP: Try to check back often and get a FastPass+ to this. The line also dies off closer to park closing time.

Yelp
I am torn...I wanted to love this ride but I couldn't love it. After talking to a CM in one of the restaurants I learned that the thought behind this ride was because there needed to be a ride everyone could ride since the other Pandora ride excludes people (can't ride if you're too short, too tall too big or too small). The effects are cool and they use more digital effects vs animatronics. Today's visit 6/17/17, the wait time was 80 minutes. I definitely would not wait. We had a fast pass and that is the only way I would ride this ride with the wait time higher than 20 minutes.

Yelp
This ride was extremely disappointing for me. Yes the animatronics are pretty cool and realistic looking, but the ride itself was boring. Absent any thrill factor if they at least didn't try and cram so many boats closely together it would have been better. I am guessing the original intent was to have one boat experience each scene separately. It is hard to appreciate when your boat is bumping into another or being struck from behind and not just as you near the unloading area but throughout the attraction. The only plus to this attraction is a brief escape from the Florida heat & humidity. DO NOT waste a fast-pass on this and DO NOT wait in queue for an extended time, you WILL be disappointed! We practically walked on and I am disappointed enough I likely won't ride again.

Yelp
The other yelp reviews pretty much sum it up. Its a beautiful ride! But it is also a very short ride. As soon as you find yourself immersed in it, it ends. The slow boat ride is family friendly. It is definitely not worth waiting more than 45 minutes and the lack of story line made it somewhat underwhelming. This felt more like a little tour vs a journey. We waited in a 120 minute line and honestly it was not worth it. I will say though it was pretty clever how they decided to place drink vendors in the queue in case you find yourself in that long line. If you find yourself needing to use the restroom then good luck because its very crammed in the queue and hard to get in and out.
