Updating my initial review to respond to the hotels comments: There was no email at 1am. There was nothing happening at 1am. I also never received this magical email that was apparently responded to. I’d love to know what I wrote? I was already checked in at another hotel (thankfully) at that time. I called the number listed on the wall outside at 9pm, no answer. I texted the Expedia chat with my issues, no answer. And even if it WAS 1am (which it wasn’t) who cares? You’re ok with leaving your paying guests out in the cold with no where to go? Stop making up fake excuses and just admit that you’re in the wrong here. This wasn’t right and I hope it never happens to anyone else. Left a review on Expedia and the hotel came back with a pathetic response. Since I can’t reply to it there, I’m replying to it here. Essentially, I broke the room key (my fault completely and happy to own up to that) however NO ONE answers the phone past 6pm. I was stuck in a foreign city, alone, with no where to stay and no one to contact for help. It’s unacceptable that there is no one to handle emergency calls after a certain time. Forget about getting a refund for the room. Hotel is now trying to gaslight me saying the incident happened at 1am. It absolutely did not. By 1am I was already (thankfully) asleep at another hotel thanks to the kindness of strangers. The incident happened at 9 pm. Feel free to check your security cameras again. Don’t stay here.

The location was incredible, centrally located in old San Juan with restaurants, boutiques, and convenience store literally right outside. The room, common area, and rooftop were super cute and offered great views of the neighborhood. We saw prior reviews that there was no hair dryer and that the shower didn't heat up, but they have made several improvements including a hot water heater and a hair dryer! BRING EARBUDS because the street was very noisy at night. Seemed like there were garbage trucks and construction vehicles constantly passing by, but earbuds did the trick. Seemed very safe and secure. If you're having trouble checking in, go into the jewelry store named Navona and they will give you your key; it's right next door.

Do not recommend!!! They gave us the wrong code to the lockbox leaving us standing on the street at 10pm while they didn’t respond to any calls or messages. Hotels.com had to get us a hotel at the last minute in a different area. 5 stars for hotels.com. Zero for navano studios, would not recommend

They won’t answer the phone after 6pm so good luck if you can’t get into your room. You’ll have to find another place to stay and they won’t refund you either. I’m leaving this same review in every travel site I see them on because it’s beyond unacceptable that there is NO ONE to contact after hours. Seriously go anywhere else in the city. El Colonial is wonderful and helped me with a room after I came to them distressed.

Very nice hotel and staff. Great value for money. The shower could have been warmer with stronger pressure and the patio door didn’t properly lock, leading it to open a few times during the night. That said, I enjoyed the property and would stay again.

We did follow directions. The code sent on 4/11/25 was different than the one sent at 5am 4/12/25 - after we had to get another hotel. If you go back through other reviews this is an issue repeatedly. The owner likes to gaslight people apparently - no accountability and no communication.

Sparse rooms with 1 small soap, no cups a dirty fridge, dusty corners and floor edges, gross sticky remotes.... ew, A1/2 sin in the bath and a bed that was too small for an average male 5-10. Don't walk barefoot on the floors they feel slimy. Did have ac that you can't control, no front desk so some guests looked like they were renting by the hour and the front entry smelled like the cleaner solution is masking urine. There's no one on site so no help if there are issues and no refunds if you want to cancel future days. It's your buck risk it if you want . We're sorry we did

The room is big but the bathroom is very small. The bed is narrow and short. We stayed for two days and the cleaning lady did not want to clean our room in between. The best about the accommodation is the price and the location.
