Navona Theatre Hotel is a well-located 3-star hotel with real potential. The absolute highlight is the location – just steps away from Rome’s historical core, making it an ideal base for sightseeing, dining, and exploring on foot. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, especially housekeeping, who kept things clean and welcoming. While we didn’t try the breakfast, we appreciated the assistance we received when we needed it. The hotel itself has some charming features – in particular, the beautiful corridor architecture inside the building. However, small improvements could elevate the guest experience. For example, a couple of benches or small tables outside the entrance would make it easier for guests waiting for companions to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, Navona Theatre Hotel delivers a solid 3-star stay in a prime location, with helpful service and potential for more if a few thoughtful upgrades are made.

Navona Theatre Hotel offers a warm and welcoming experience right in the heart of Rome. The hotel staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Breakfast was delicious and a perfect way to start each day. One thing to note: the hotel is tucked away on a charming but narrow street, which adds to its character but can make it a bit tricky for taxis to drop you off right at the door. If you’re traveling with lots of luggage, navigating the cobblestone path might be a bit of a challenge. Overall, a wonderful stay with excellent service, just be prepared for a little adventure on arrival!

We checked in this morning after a taxis ride up from the cruise port….not a bad drive (approximately 1 hour). Granted, it’s July in Rome, but you would think these hotels would be prepared for the summer heat and tourists. We arrived early (9:30am) and they had our room available…..in hindsight, I now understand why. The front desk person walked us to the room…..room #2. We walked in and it was painfully obvious the AC had not been running in the room for quite awhile. The front-desk man apologized and turned on the little portable style AC unit. We left the room to tour Rome and retuned over 8 hours later to a 94 degree hotel room. The AC was off and the room was sweltering. We walked to the front-desk which was now staffed by a young lady who spoke extremely limited English. We explained the issue and she walked up the room. She fooled with the remote device to no avail. We showered and left for dinner…..she said she’d check on the room. We returned at 10pm and the room was still 90 degrees. We asked for a portable fan but she couldn’t understand us and simply said no……Then closed the front door and left……they close at 10pm. I’m now writing this review at 10:30pm in a 90 degree room. Avoid this property. Ohhhh, and the shower doesn’t work properly either. The overhead rain shower on/off knob was broken off the wall. Fortunately the small water wand worked and we showered to cool down. |Again, my advice is to book your hotel room in Rome some place else. |P

If you want to be near lots of sights this is the place. It was in the thick of things but was never noisy. We walked short distances away from the piazza and found amazing restaurants. Overall this hotel met all our needs and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We got in our room early so we could shower after our long flight, that was unexpected and so welcome! The room was large and modern with comfy beds. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection. The hotel is down a very narrow alley so your taxi driver may drop you off at the end of the street. Everything in Rome is cobblestone so have good wheels on those bags and don’t overpack. There are a few stairs going to the floor where the rooms are and breakfast is downstairs. There isn’t anyplace in Italy that you don’t have to plan for walking up and down stairs and this wasn’t bad. We had a walk in shower that was large but the rain shower didn’t work and the stick was tricky to deal with. But we had hot water the whole time.

We stayed at the Navona Theatre Hotel for 6 nights. The location is simply incredible — just a minute away from Piazza Navona. The hotel staff is absolutely wonderful. A week before our arrival in Rome, I accidentally canceled our hotel booking on Expedia. Expedia couldn’t help me resolve the issue, and only a direct call to the hotel solved everything. I spoke with Agata, and she resolved the problem within minutes. Thank you so much, Agata!||During our stay, whenever we had questions — like how to get somewhere or anything else — Marco was always there to help. The staff is truly exceptional.||The hotel is small, and all rooms are of different sizes, but everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. One great thing is that you can sleep with the windows open at night — it’s quiet! Our friends stayed one night at another hotel and couldn’t sleep due to the noise, but at this hotel, it was peaceful and quiet at night.||Breakfasts are good — more than enough to keep you going until lunchtime while walking around Rome.|We were very happy with our choice of this hotel.

I reserved what was advertised as a comfortable, mid-range hotel room but, when I showed up, the front desk handed me keys to an “annex” down the street—a completely different building that felt more like a dated apartment. The room was clean, but loud. It sat right above an intersection with bars and street noise poured in late into the night. The staff were friendly, but when I asked for a refund they said any real refund was out of their hands. The whole experience felt like a bait-and-switch. If you expect to stay in the main hotel, get that in writing before you pay, or be prepared for a downgrade and a headache trying to sort it out afterward. Courteous employees can’t make up for misleading advertising (which was NOT stated anywhere, despite what their responses to these reviews say), so I’d look elsewhere.

Visited in January 2025 with my wife and 7yo kid. The hotel is in a great location to explore Rome's historical center and close to restaurants and bars. The room was very clean and beatifully furnished, and the beds were large and had very good mattresses. The breakfast was typical but with good quality. The staff was really helpful and polite and even offered us breakfast for free even though we did not book or pay for it. Overall, it was a great experience.
