"Nayara Hangaroa was another good thing to come out of the pandemic. Formerly the Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa, it became a Nayara resort after the island closed in 2020. The new owners have refreshed the rooms and added a well-marked walking route on the property; the roster of guest experiences includes visits with local artists and musicians." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"With 75 rooms and an ocean vista in the center of town, the Hangaroa Eco Village & Spa has it made: The retreat occupies a choice swath of land on the southwestern tip of Easter Island, about a four-and-a-half hour flight from Santiago, and sits just five minutes from the local airport. Aside from its prime location, the hotel's breezy, open-concept layout and sea-view rooms (each outfitted with custom clay baths, crafted by Chilean artisans) help deliver that blissed out vibe—pretty rare for a retreat this close to the action. There are two restaurants and a bar, each of which draw from local seafood and produce, along with Polynesian spices, plus a four-room spa and a pool; but the main event at Hangaroa are the island excursions. Hop on a horse and tour the island, or hitch up for a two-hour sunrise hike in Ahu Tongariki, an ancient ceremonial platform outfitted with 15 giant stone statues. And should you decide to stay put on the pristine beaches of Rapa Nui? Well, that's okay too."

Our four night stay at this hotel could||Have been a little better, given the price we payed per night, but the overall experience was good. Some details that could be easily improved, such as better pillows, more food variety and updated rooms.||The island is wonderful and all the excursions were fantastic. We had a wonderful and friendly staff. ||Very close to the airport and town, so you can explore a little. Not all rooms have open views of the ocean but the area offers amazing ones. Very dramatic coastline.

Architecture is unique as it is inspired by the local ancient structures. It is not a small hotel and yet gentle on the environment. Stylish bedrooms, with great attention to details. Attentive staff, stars and affectionate dogs make an unprecedented atmosphere. |The restaurant is curated, really impressed by the fish tartare. |For being in a remote island the level of comfort and sophistication is impressive.

The kindness and hospitality begin as soon as you exit the airport and find Elias waiting for you with a lei and a smile, then he loads your bags into the hotel van and whisks you away to such a beautiful hotel and spa. The rooms are generously sized, the breakfast buffet is vast, plentiful, and delicious, the beds are comfortable, and property is neat and tidy. I don't swim, but the pool looks fantastic. The massage I took time for (and so should you) was very well done. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, pleasant, and helpful, even if they didn't speak English so well. Most knew my name (how do they do that?!). The location is perfect - easy walk to the town, and the ocean is literally across the street. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on Easter Island. I recommend this property without hesitation.

We had the best experience at the gorgeous Natara Hangaroa. Having stayed at its sister hotel in Costa Rica, we had high expectations. The hotel, service, location, top quality in-room amenities, and the ceviche(!) were perfect. ||Special thanks to Isabel and Josefina in guest services and to Eduardo in the restaurant for making our stay over-the-top outstanding and memorable. You guys are the best! ||We took the recommended four excursions to get a taste of the history, culture, and sights of this amazing island, and all were fantastic. The sunrise visit to the Moai was a special treat as well. ||I highly recommend Nayara for anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable oasis with gorgeous views and a convenient location near town on the incredible island of Rapa Nui!

Start to finish we really enjoyed everything about this adventure. We had Tico as our guide from start to finish. We were able to enjoy the sunset excursion the first night and the sunrise excursion our last day prior to our flight out. Tico played guitar and sang local songs for us. It made incredible events both romantic and unforgettable. What a way to start and end our trip. We did morning and afternoon excursions our two full days. Anything you choose will be great. So much to see!!!! I would suggest 3-full days so you can go a little slower and enjoy the Hotel and town, which is a short walk away. We were very tired with only 2-full days/3-nights. The hotel was top notch in every way. Rooms, staff, food, and drink were 5-stars all the way.

I recently stayed at Nayara Hangaroa on Easter Island in a Maunga Ocean View Villa. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a view of the ocean. The hotel’s architecture reflects traditional Rapa Nui design and blends into the natural surroundings. However, if you look closely, the taps and some fixtures are a bit dated. The shower curtain smells a bit. ||The minibar included soft drinks and beer, but it was only restocked once during the stay. Not per day. However, there was a water refill station available, which was convenient.||Breakfast offered a variety of options, but the fruit selection was limited. Some fruits appeared to be canned, was hoping for more fresh fruits selections and there were not even bananas.||Dinner at Poerava Restaurant was underwhelming. The food lacked flavor, and the pineapple tarte Tatin dessert tasted as though it had been previously frozen. Additionally, the menu offered limited options for non-seafood eaters, which made it challenging to find satisfying alternatives. ||The hotel’s location was convenient, close to town and sunset spots. Airport transfer which was included was handy and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. We booked the dream package which included US$200 credit that can be used on restaurants and spa. However, doesn’t look like all the reception staff aware of this. We were charged and not deducted from final bill and we o unrealised after we have settled and at the airport leaving. So we had to go through the hassle to email. They resolved in the end but make sure you check before paying!

For the price, we felt that this place should be immaculate. However, the room could use a refresh, such as a paint job, and a replacement (or washing) of the white couch cushion, which seemed dingy. Also, the shower drain was sluggish, and the toilet room doesn't have ventilation, so there was a slight odor. The resort is still using bar hand soap in the rooms, instead of liquid, which breeds bacteria. There is a shoe scraper brush at the front of the hotel which is supposed to remove dust from your shoes. However, it was so dirty that it seemed to add dust. All of this being said, we still gave it 4 stars because our room was only separated from the sea by a small local road and we really enjoyed sitting on our terrace watching the sea and local life. (Be sure to get the first row of rooms closest to the sea.) The rooms are interesting, with lots of stone incorporated into the design. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating, and the food in the restaurant and bar is quite good. Shout out to our favorite waiter Oscar at the restaurant! We had wonderful massages at the spa.

Amazing trip to paradise. ||From the welcome to departure the team at the hotel are amazing. ||We had an exceptional welcome and tour of the hotel on arrival by Gabriel. ||Breakfast was superb each day with Karem at the omelette station making superb omelettes. ||The tours were led really well by a truly knowledgeable and passionate local guide with drinks provided. We also made some great friends with others on the tour. Maria Celcila helped organise the activities as well as hiring quads for us to explore the Island. ||Dinner in the fine dining restaurant was great with super service from Valentina. On the last few days we choose to have lunch in the restaurant which served wonderful Sopa de Marisco and delicious grilled Kana Kana. Wally served us most days and was so professional as well as being great fun. The pool bar served great cocktails and Felipe was a wonderful character. ||Throughout the stay both Gabriel and Josefina checked in with us to ensure all was well and were delightful. ||Isabel was always at hand at reception and was super helpful. ||The room was great with a comfy bed and great amenities. There is no TV which makes total sense on such a stunning island. Overall the hotel is great, but it is the entire team that give the hotel its amazing character and service. Everyone wants to deliver great hospitality. The team really make the difference here. ||Such an amazing place! Thank you all for an amazing trip.
