An excellent visit today with a wonderfully warm welcome from the staff, one of the wonderful artists who has her jewellery in the museum shop, and even the owner! Would highly recommend exploring this hidden gem in the centre of town. It’s a little oasis of history, that the owners are incredibly proud to preserve. And if you are looking to buy something local and special, they have taken real care to stock the shop with artwork and jewellery from local sellers, a refreshing change from many other shops.

This is an amazing boutique museum created from a family that loves the sea and sailing. If you pass by, spend 10 minutes to walk through and enjoy...especially the exhibits in the garden. The new shop created has also interesting items for gifts

What a wonderful museum! All the displays are beautifully presented and easy to enjoy. The maritime history of the Greek islands is amazing and this is the place to dig deeper. Newly renovated in 2024 the museum is first class! Of special note: amazing renovated lighthouse in the back yard; powerful headstones of maritime individuals; antiquities dating back to 3rd century bc; a great video about their two ships they have renovated. It’s a great place to bring kids too! Have them search for the real pirates chest! I also heard they turn the lighthouse at night sometimes!

What an unexpected gem of a museum. Beautifully presented exhibits with knowledgeable staff. The courtyard itself is worth the modest admission price.

Tiny maritime museum with several display cases. The best part of the visit to the museum was getting to see the beautiful, tranquil courtyard. On a busy, hot day in Mykonos town, I could see myself paying the admission fee just to spend some quiet time in the courtyard away from the throngs of tourist. Not sure the exhibits are worth the €4 admission fee. But the courtyard alone is worth €3 if you have time to sit and savor it.

Great little museum! Some wonderful history and the lighthouse is beautiful. The courtyard is a welcome escape from the crowds. Highly recommend.

Visiting this museum is a truly unique experience. At first glance, the space seems small — but as you begin to observe each exhibit closely, you realize just how much there is to discover and explore. The interior holds pleasant surprises, including a lighthouse recreated just as it used to be when it was still in operation. It's clear that this museum was created with passion and love. What makes it even more special is that you wouldn’t expect to find something like this hidden in the alleys of an island more commonly associated with entertainment than with education, culture, and authentic experiences.

A must see when visiting Mykonos! Right in the middle of the party scene of the island, a beacon of culture and history! You can navigate the maritime history around the Aegean sea and all its milestones from antiquity until the present time. Congratulations to the Aegean Maritime Museum and the recent renovation (2024) of its exhibition! Also... Great Museum Shop!! Quality gifts for souvenirs!!
