Neecha Thai Cuisine

**Unfortunately, I need to share this disappointing experience.** When my girlfriend and I arrived at Neecha Thai, I made it very clear to our server that I have a *severe allergy to onions*. For every item we inquired about, the first question I asked was, “Does this contain onions, or can it be made without them?” I was thorough and direct about my dietary restriction. We ordered spring rolls and two other dishes. I ate the first two bites of the spring rolls with the sauce. On the third bite—without sauce—I immediately noticed a strong onion taste. My mouth and throat began to itch and tighten, and I realized something was very wrong. I immediately spit the food out. The servers quickly came over after noticing I was in distress. I informed them that I tasted onion, and that I needed to leave immediately to take allergy medication. The staff apologized and admitted they had “pulled out” the onions from the spring rolls but didn’t realize the **onion oil** could still cause a reaction. They removed the spring rolls from our bill, but we were forced to leave and could not finish our meal. Frankly, the entire bill should have been comped. I had a severe allergic reaction because the staff did not take my allergy seriously, despite my clear and repeated warnings. It’s incredibly frustrating that onion allergies are often dismissed or not treated with the same seriousness as other food allergies like peanuts. **Food allergies are a medical condition**, and restaurants need to acknowledge that. If your kitchen cannot safely accommodate a guest’s allergy—**be honest and upfront.** Train your staff properly, know your ingredients, and if needed, let the customer know you can’t guarantee a safe meal. My experience could have been much worse, and that’s unacceptable.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday weekend at about 7 in the evening. The place was inviting yet not crowded. The menu is good and has a lot of vegetarian options. We ordered Lava Salmon, Salmon Bowl, Basil Tofu and Curry Puffs, and a corn dish. One thing to note is that the serving size is above average. Lava Salmon was decent. It however was made in the Massaman curry instead of the red curry. Salmon Bowl was bland and had no taste. Curry Puffs and the Corn fritters were decent, but their cucumber salad was awesome!

I would give this place 3.5 stars. Lovely decor. Very cozy and prompt service. Food is decent. I have had tastier Thai food before. We shared shrimp pad Thai and veggie yellow curry. The pad that was definitely better than the curry.

Delicious! We came here as a group of 6 and ordered Pad Kee Mao, Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, pumpkin curry and cashew chicken plus some desserts. Place was comfortable and service was attentive. Noodles dishes were ordered spicy and we were pleased. Cashew chicken was delicious only wish there was more rice. I’ve had better pumpkin curry but still yummy and hit the cravings.

I have tried this restaurant 2x so far and I must say I enjoyed the food both times, the first time I order on doordash and the 2nd time I sat & had dinner at the restaurant. The restaurant has a nice chill vibe and the staff are very nice & attentive. There was no long wait to be seated which was great, we were seated right away and given menus and water with lemons and I also order a Thai tea which was very good yum one of my favorite drinks, our waiter was very pleasant and smiled all the time ,she was great 👍🏾 I definitely recommend this place for some good Thai food. The plate presentation is cute , my food was served very hot 🔥 and came with alot of flavor. We order the beef spare ribs, BBQ chicken , stir fry eggplant wit tofu, and shrimp-chicken pad Thai 😋. I definitely recommend this restaurant!! Go try this local Thai food restaurant

It's so good I almost want to keep it a secret! Lots of fresh veggies, delicious sauces. My favorite is "the immortal" and the Kao Soi. Vegetarian masterpieces. Great if you want a satisfying vegan meal.

Friday December 23, 2022, had a delicious lunch at Neecha Thai cuisine in Oakland today with my bro. Fast courteous service and tasty Thai food which is comparable to the authentic Thai food I get when we vacay in Bangkok, Chang Mai & Phuket.. authentic flavors that is true to Thailand. Thai dishes are sweet, salty, spicy or sour. On the menu, there are many dishes with thick noodles, vegetables, lettuce, and chicken, lamb, shrimp, or beef. Some dishes are more rice geared or contain fruits such as pineapple or papaya. Each dish highlights the region of Thailand it’s from. My brother is a regular here so he orders dishes not on the menu. That’s the kind of special treatment you get when you’re a regular customer and get to be friends with the hard working chef there and the back of the house staffers. So we order a Thai version of Bánh cuốn, a Vietnamese entree, which is made from a thin, wide sheet of fermented rice batter filled with a mixture of cooked seasoned ground pork, minced wood ear mushroom, and minced shallots.. in their dish, they used organic free range chicken instead of pork which is healthier. The flavors are on mark, the silky rice batter flour sheets akin to fettuccine but bigger is soft on the palate & a slight chewy texture but damn tasty with the accompaniment of the mushrooms, marinated ground chicken meat, bean sprouts, light sweet soy sauce & herbs in the dish. Highly recommended. At the end of the meal, our server gave us a surprise gift of ginger bread man .. a very sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Every customer got one actually. Nice touch Neecha Thai Cuisine! Keep up the great service and tasty good eats. You just earned yourself another loyal customer. My office used to be a couple blocks away and I’ve coming here for years even after moving office. Very disappointed with the recent portion reduction. I understand food prices are increasing but this is not how you offset it. Neecha, you’ve lost a loyal customer.

Good food and big portions. Two meals for the price of one! Service was good as well. The interior is quite small and it's a bit warm, but all in all, the food is yummy!

Neecha is an excellent place to enjoy Thai food and my favorite spot for a nice meal. Overall, whatever choice I have made, the food has been quite delicious. My favorites are pumpkin chicken curry, lamb curry, and Salmon Bowl. I tend to go back to my favorites. However, when I try something else, I still enjoy the food. Wine is my favorite drink, and the Cabernet Sauvignon served is just what I need. The restaurant's plants make it feel like eating in a beautiful garden. The service is outstanding. Linda is super friendly and welcoming. She will check in to make sure you have everything you need. Ton, at the counter, is attentive to the customers. They will care for you, and you will feel they enjoy their work. I enjoy Saturday dinner at Neecha Thai and am excited to recommend it.

Kao soi was amazing - so much flavor! It had an abundance of protein (we ordered chicken), veggies, noodles, and most importantly it had lots of flavor! The food came out piping hot and the delicious curry flavor tasted like a combo of yellow curry and panag. The curry puffs were also probably the best appetizer I've ever had - fresh and crispy, loved the flavors of the yam and taro! You could taste them but it was also not overwhelming at the same time. I will say - we also ordered the Rad Na and I can't say I was a big fan. The gravy was on the more oily and salty side (like a soy sauce kind of gravy) but if that's your thing then by all means go for it. Also would like to mention that the service was great! Very friendly and I feel like they were very attentive. Also portions are huge! It's a great bang for your buck :)

It has become my favorite Thai restaurant in the East bay. The food here has big portion, full of Thai species, and diverse varieties. We ordered two different type of rice plate. They both tasted fabulously great. The asked for the Thai medium spicy, and it came out so authentic and delicious. The people here are very efficient and friendly. The place is very family style. I will definitely come back when I come to this area.

A long time favorite for all things Thai. Not too greasy, yet on the sweet side the dishes here from the kee mao to the ribs impress me a lot. Ambiance is very casual, and the service is just okay but the takeout is where this place shines.

Can't speak on the ambience because I ordered Togo. I got Chicken Pad Thai and I'm not a fan. There was no flavor and no spice. Very bland but you get a good portion. I double checked to see if I could've asked for it spicier but they don't have that option online and don't allow for special requests??? I probably won't be back :/

OMG, two nights in a eow I had to have their Cashew Chicken! best i have ever had anywhere ... sooooo tasty!!!

Upon entering, there's lots of plants decorating the walkway, giving a very cute and relaxing vibe. Service is quick, restaurant is pretty empty. The portions are decent sized for the price. The cashew chicken has a sweet and savory flavor, with great balance of veggies. I love that they give an orange on the side, so you can cleanse your palate after a flavorful meal!

Called in my order Phone order was easy to do Ordered garlic short ribs Salmon bowl Shrimp pad thai Originally I wanted garlic shrimp but I was told that was not available I was told food would be ready in 20 minutes No worries I was able to find parking in front but only after driving around twice ...... No private parking lot, street parking only Restaurant is nicely decorated and clean Walked in and my order was ready Good deal Total was $63 dollars (not including tip) Salmon bowl Comes with steamed veggies and rice as well as avocado Salmon was flavorless and kinda over cooked Veggies were decent Shrimp pad Thai That is VERY GOOD Garlic Short ribs : Some ribs were burnt, most were over cooked Comes out with Sticky rice and salad Customer service is nice

Living in the Oakland area for many many years, I have ordered And have also eaten in house. I really appreciate the quality food and the creative Thai options. It's not like eating street food in Thailand per se L O L honestly, it's real good real real good.

This place is best for take out/to go/order out! The space is too small and strangely set-up, however if you drop-in and like super intimate space.... This is for you, first dates or quiet discussions! I arrived and saw how small, and ordered a special! Omg!!!! The food was fresh and delicious... mouthwatering even!!! Super hot after transporting home!!! Loved it! The staff was friendly and quick! Oddly weird to order tho... The Thai iced tea... YUM!!! the interior is clean, but the restroom didn't have options and was dirty! There isn't a baby changing station. Parking garage in the back and street parking.

Our waitress was friendly & came often to check on us. The Pad-Se-Ew with shrimp was steaming hot & delicious. Lots of fresh vegetables in our food. Clean & comfortable setting. I love the beautiful painting on the wall.

The food the staff always outstanding I eat here once a week for past Several years Never have had a bad experience Prik king chicken so delicious Gluten skewers the best Papaya salad so flavorful Vegetarian fried spring rolls are good but sometimes over fried Dessert so good!

We just cane here for dessert - and the hostess/server was more than happy to serve us. We ordered the 3 desserts on their menu - Sticky rice with mango (lots of them), Roti, and fried banana with coconut ice cream. Yummy!! Place is small, but cozy and clean. Will be back for their main course.

One of the best Thai places in the Bay Area! A friend recommended this place many years ago, and I always drop in when I'm in the area. If Neecha Thai were an automobile, I would rate it like a Honda or Toyota. Always consistent, value, and reliable with their food, haha. I've recommended this place to friends and they all love it too.

Service wasn't that great but I just ordered pick up and the portion size was small I thought it was a mistake I paid $14 for this small soup and unfortunately I wasn't happy

This is based on one experience with a delivered order. Both the chicken and the pork pad Thai we had was a bit underwhelming. There were no sprouts and very little peanuts. The noodles were drier than I like. I had not one but two white ends of green onion. The side salad literally had 6 small leaves. Maybe it was an off day?

I stopped at Neecha on the way home because it's close to my house. The service was super quick and friendly. The food itself came up super fast. I ordered the Tom kha which was pretty average. Not as rich as I prefer. But I also got the eggplant with chicken which was fabulous and cooked perfectly. I would definitely dine in, I enjoyed the atmosphere.

Exceeded my expectations big time. Outstanding food and attentive service. Plan to visit on way from Bay Area to Tahoe every time!

Too spicy food I ordered medium spicy we can't eat , we like spicy food this was very bad

Good seasoning in the food, and lots of options to choose from on the menu. We tried many different dishes; that's the advantage of eating with more people :) I will change my rating to 5-star when one day I taste their stir-fried flat noodles not sticking together, which is a basic stir-fried skill the chef should posses (just my two cents). Other than that, I'm happy with what I've tasted so far (photos provided).

Excellent green bean starter - fresh and crisp. The table enjoyed all of the dishes - especially the papaya salad. Friendly staff. No reservations needed.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant. I regularly order the Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, Curry Puffs to name a few of my go to items. Friendly staff, consistent food quality and a comfortable ambiance are why I keep going back.

ordered vegan spring rolls for delivery. received some kind of meat, shrimp? chicken? it's been over 30 years and all I know is I puked. and puked. and puked. make this business know food preferences and sensitivities matter. No one this incompetent should be serving food.

I'm a frequenter at this spot. I always get the same thing (creature of habit). Every time I think of trying something new I start craving my regular again. Maybe next time . I love the chicken pad Thai. I'm not a tofu eater so I always get it with no tofu and extra bean sprouts. They're usually pretty quick for take out and the atmosphere in the restaurant is always pleasant. The only tough thing is I usually have to double park to pick up and Grand Ave is pretty busy. Other than that, this spot is a staple for me!

BBQ Chicken with rice, very tender and great flavor. aside the sweet and source sauce with this plate it's amazing fuego

Just had some absolutely fire food from Neecha tonight. Pork Fried Rice -- a star. A legend. An icon. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly textured, fresh tasting pork. I had seconds. If I lived alone I would've eaten the whole thing. Pad See Ew with Chicken -- great flavor and a fun surprise of little mushrooms throughout. Could've used more veggies. Curry Puffs -- so tiny, so flavorful. Need like 8 more per box. Spring rolls -- also so tiny, so flavorful. Again, I would not have said no to like, 10 more of these. Beef & Basil -- generous on the basil and veggies. Delish. Can't wait to order again and try some curries. This could be the Sauvignon blanc talking but ... New favorite Thai in town, thank you Neecha!

Neecha baby is the secret Gem on Grand Lake Ave. This Thai spot is so delicious and the food is always on point. My go to here is the Yellow Curry Lamb chops and let me tell you these chops are prepared on a grill to perfection! They are never dry or over cooked. The Yellow Curry is an added plus and flavorful.

I'm a huge fan of Neecha as my local Thai place! I've come here many times and often for a quick yummy and hearty lunch! Some of my favorite things here are the curry puffs, curries, the garlic shrimp and the garlic ribs! I will say, when the garlic ribs are good, they're amazing, and also why I keep ordering them, but there are times when I've ordered this and it's been dry. Overall though, this is my favorite local Thai place. No frills, just solid food.

Never had a bad meal here. The staff is super sweet, and the food delicious. Moved away from the area and I miss it tremendously! Looking forward to going back one day.

Worth checking out. The fresh spring rolls and peanut sauce were delicious. I got the Chicken radna and I was very surprised by the portion and all that's in it. The portion was big could barely finish half. Generally when I get radna there's only the meat, broccoli, and carrots. This one had all of that and I think two different types of mushrooms . Also a plus, the servers were very friendly and attentive :).

Good food but used to be better. Service doesn't seem much better. Ordered at 5pm online, didn't get meal till 540.

Amazing food!!!employees are very nice! The red curry and corn cakes are delicious! The Thai iced coffee is perfectly balanced, not too sweet or bitter

YUM- highly recommend the Pad See Ew noodle dish at Neecha Thai. I recently had it with shrimp and it was delicious. I hadn't liked their yellow chicken curry when I had dined there in person a while back but thought that this most recent experience warranted them an extra star. The delivery service was prompt and efficient, the Pad See Ew had the delicious savory sweet sauce, it was hot, the noodles were cooked well, and there was an abundance of ingredients overall- veggies and 5 large shrimp pieces (bonus points!). I had been starving after a late night in the office and it seriously brought me back to life. I nearly ate the whole meal but I fortunately decided to save the rest for lunch the next day as the full feeling hit me a few minutes later. I'm happy that I had the opportunity to give Neecha Thai another chance and look forward to trying other items on the menu, just not the yellow chicken curry.

I ordered from DoorDash ToGo, the PadSewEw did not look like the pictures. I had food poisoning the next day and missed work. Not sorry for posting this truth.

Amazing food! As good as I remember it (and that isn't always the case post-pandemic). Amazing vegetarian options--and their kao soi is the best I've ever had. By far my favorite Bay Area Thai place!

It's a late-July Wednesday night. My friend just finished taking the Bar for the past 2 days, and I found out today that I didn't get the job I really wanted. We're drained. But you know what cures every sad mood? Yup. Thai food. Cut to the next scene. We're decked out in matching outfits of flared yoga pants and crew neck sweatshirts, watching the MTV show Catfish. We ordered chicken pad Thai, tofu fried rice, and red curry with beef. We received some jasmine rice and a salad as well...a little free snacky snack. My first time having food from Neecha. Definitely not my last. Highly recommend. Please go there! Spoiler alert: In the season 2 episode of Catfish titled "Keyonna and Bow wow", it was not Bow wow. It was some lady who went by "Dee Pimpin"

I enjoyed my experience and food here. I eat vegan and got the Pad Thai with tofu! To drink, I had a glass of Chardonnay. Will definitely be back!

This has the best pad see ew with chicken, flavors were on point and the food remained hot even though I had to drive 10 minutes. This dish was life-changing:) What are you waiting for, get in your car now and go get some excellent Thai!

This place is well decorated, cute and spacious but the food! WOAH plus staff is really welcoming and friendly.

Felt rush when the server took all the plates plus my coconut drink that I wasn't done with not long after we were done eating, then immediately brought the bill over. I understand if it was busy but there were no line and had many empty tables. I get that she took the plates but she even took my coconut drink when I'm not even done with it. The only thing she didn't take was the free water. As for the food, the tofu and eggplant dish my friend ordered was salty and the tofu was a little dry. The chicken pad see ew I ordered taste like dimsum rice rolls mix with a light sweet soy. The noodles were not taken apart all the way so it's bland when you bite into the middle. The mushroom added a weird taste in it. I never had pad see ew with mushrooms. The appetizers were good. The vegetarian papaya salad had a great tangy lemon flavor to it. The eggroll was hard and crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Tasted like a larger lumpia, which was delicious. If I do come back, it will be for the appetizers.

I enjoyed the flavors in the veggie medley :) The veggie egg rolls were crispy. I'd recommend take out since it's pretty small inside.

Food is awesome as always. Friendly service. I always take out therefore I can't comment on the ambiance. The chef takes great care in he food presentation. I really enjoy eating their food.

The food has been hit or miss. The Thai tea isn't that great. I always have pumpkin curry from different Thai restaurants. This pumpkin curry has tasted different every time I've been to Neecha Thai!!! The portions were small for the price. I probably will just say 2 of 5. The other items like fresh rolls with avocado weren't very good, the peanut sauce was just ok. On a positive the bathrooms were clean. Thank you
