Russ is simply a really great dude. There's a great selection at a very reasonable price point. You will not regret checking this shop out.

Great collection of records if you are into classic rock, blues, and jazz.

I'm pretty sure Russ has beaten all the Dark Souls games, so go buy some cool records from him

Great store, super helpful. I drove from Buffalo to get a Smiths record and they were awesome.

Google
Fantastic vinyl shop! Great prices used vinyls that are only $5 or $10. Solid selection of new vinyls and rare finds! The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable. I was very lucky to find a band I was looking for and the record only had 500 printings! Can't wait to go back!

Google
Great store. Has just what you need in a good amount of space. They had a really rare record I’d been looking for and gave me a good price on it. Owner is really chill and has a good selection. Will be back on my next trip up.

This place is awesome. Russell is a super friendly dude, and the metal/hardcore collection is great. Definitely a sweet little spot. We will absolutely be back the next time we are in town.

Yelp
Fun and quirky little shop. They definitely gravitate towards more independent music which is awesome. Well organized and laid out. I don't often make it over to this place as much as I should. Worth the trip.

Yelp
Heard about this place and had to drop in to see the record selection... to say the least it was litty! Russ immediately became one of my boys and put me on to some dope records, we chopped it up talking about music for like 30 minutes boy knows his music. Yelp
Compared with some of Rochester's overwhelmingly huge record stores, Needle Drop has the distinct advantage of being relatively small and meticulously organized, a reflection of the care with which the owner selects his records and matches them to his customers. As an occasional visitor to this city, I wouldn't think a shop owner would remember me, but by my third visit here Russ recognized me and was able to make some solid recommendations based on what I had bought in the past. He's got a GREAT selection of new and used jazz, soul, and out-of-the-mainstream rock selections, never the same twice, and always worth a visit.

Yelp
Great location near some other great small businesses. I've had some great finds, you have to be ready to search a little. Also home of a Thieven' Stephen mural! Great for picking up your next favorite record and a perfect stop on an impromptu mural tour of South Wedge.

Yelp
Solid little record shop dedicated to the next generation of vinyl aficionados. Not as deep a selection here as the Bop Shop or the Record Archive, but give 'em time. Definitely a "curated" store with a sharp focus towards less mainstream music. Following in the footsteps of the late, lamented South Wedge mainstay Analog Shock. Here's hoping Ross (and crew) make a solid go at this business. Well worth a stop over when you're visiting Rochester, Western New York's vinyl capitol.

Yelp
We were driving by when we saw this shop and decided to check it out. I ended up leaving with one of the records I've been looking for forever and I couldn't find it at a reasonable price until this shop! I will definitely be coming here again. They have a great selection and I honestly prefer the size of the shop compared to Record Archive.

Yelp
My favorite record store in Rochester. Unique selection, the owner knows his music and always has made awesome recommendations. I never leave without buying something awesome. Worth a visit.

Yelp
The record store Rochester has been waiting for!! NeedleDrop has an amazing selection of vinyl that gets better everyday (how is that even possible). The owner and staff are knowledgeable, approachable and enhance the entire experience. I love that NeedleDrop is just a record store, selling records, turn tables and a few other MUSIC related items. I can never just buy one record here. Let's be honest, I have a problem and NeedleDrop is my fix. I should just sign over my paychecks to them and be done with it.

Yelp
The lady of the store and some random guy looking for music there were super helpful. I'm new to vinyls and unsure about what music to branch off into so they picked a few albums they would recommend and we listened to them on YouTube to see if I'd like it to buy. Super helpful- I'll be back!

Yelp
Obscure B-Movie Soundtracks, Minimal Wave, and stuff I never knew I had to have? NeedleDrop is on point. The South Wedge has desperately needed a good rekkid shop since Analog Shock left nearly a decade ago.

Yelp
The best record store in rochester! My friend and I were on tour and stopped in. Huge selection of punk and hardcore vinyl among other genres. Cool VHS selection too. Russ, the owner, was a super cool and friendly guy. Wish I lived closer!! Amazing spot

Brian H.

Yelp
Best record shop in Rochester. Great selection of punk, metal, jazz, and everything else

Yelp
This is my new favorite record shop. Great selection and great prices. I have seen some of their stuff priced significantly lower than some of the local competitors. Also today there was a super cute furry guinea pig to say hello to. This place has become my weekly jam for vinyl.

Yelp
I can't really write a review because I can never get into the place. Always closed, even after speaking with someone on the phone about their hours. I wanted to buy tickets to a show and see what the inventory is like. Unfortunately no one is ever there! 3 days in a row this happened! I don't want to use ticket master and I would rather give my money to a local biz instead of best buy or amazon but these proprietors make it extremely difficult. Small businesses need to stay consistent with their times and service if they want to grow. So sad.
