Neelam Restaurant

A place steeped in history. The North Indian fare here has a distinct Delhi slant to it, and I am not complaining. Highly recommend the Chicken Afghani and the Mutton Rara. While the Kali Mirch Chicken and Mutton Seekh Kabab were also great, they still fell a bit short of the first two dishes, such was the depth of flavors in them. Additionally recommend pairing the Rara with Roomali Roti. The flavors brought out as a result were otherworldly. Staff and owners were very courteous, and I hope to come back again.

This is apparently the oldest restaurant in Mussoorie, running since 1949. In recent times they have made efforts to talk about the heritage of this restaurant. A nice display greets the visitors which talks about the restaurant's history and its famous patrons. The service is good and one can see many old timers still at work here. However not many tourists come here and hence the quality of food is suspect here.We ordered Paneer Khurchan and Naan. Naan was the best we have ever had, soft and just about sweet. The Paneer khurchan did taste good but we had an upset stomach next day!

This place is a one stop shop for all your non vegetarian cravings in Mussoorie. We visited this place twice and had their mouth watering signature dishes like mutton rara and butter chicken with butter naan and were grandly treated with delectable taste in every bite. Didn’t even think about visiting any other place after trying their dishes. Staff is courteous, service is prompt and ambience has that old school Mussoorie charm in it. It was also heartening to see the owners taking so much interest in ensuring that all their diners have a pleasant experience! Must visit place whenever you are in Mussoorie.
