The Sunday Roast was lovely, and we enjoyed the meal. However, we did have a less positive experience when it came to paying. We encountered an issue with the card we initially tried to use, and unfortunately, the interaction with the team member handling the payment felt rude and unhelpful. We weren’t given an opportunity to explain the situation before they attempted to process two contactless payments and took the card from my hand to tap without permission.
I was simply trying to explain that I’d entered the PIN incorrectly too many times and had asked my partner to return to our table to get an alternative form of payment. Having worked in hospitality myself, I completely understand that payment issues can be frustrating, but a bit more patience and understanding would have made a big difference to the experience.
