Nek Chand’s Rock Garden is a truly unique tourist attraction and should be a top-priority visit in Chandigarh. While cities across India may have lakes, zoos, and gardens, this place stands apart and offers something you won’t find elsewhere. The Rock Garden is an absolute treat for the eyes.
It’s amazing to see how such a magnificent place has been created entirely using waste and discarded materials, from dolls and everyday items to intricate rock sculptures and beautiful waterfalls. The creativity and effort behind this garden are simply unbelievable.
Inside the garden, near the first waterfall, there are artists who create live sketches of visitors. While their effort is appreciable, the ₹500 charge feels quite high for the quality of the sketch offered.
About halfway through the garden, visitors are given an option to exit or continue further toward the Doll Garden, which takes about another hour to explore. This flexibility is helpful, as elderly visitors and small children may find it difficult to walk the entire garden and can comfortably exit midway.
Free parking is available and well managed, which adds to the convenience.
Overall, this is a must-visit tourist spot in Chandigarh, showcasing extraordinary imagination, patience, and artistry. In
