Once you get past the location and its surroundings, this place is a delicious spot for a snack, breakfast or coffee. The bread is amazing. The drinks are handcrafted - even the hot chocolate was made and designed with care. Pain au chocolat was crispy on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. Get a baguette to go!

Finally got to use my gift card here—my first time and I’ll be back! I stopped in for a light lunch, ordered the sourdough with poached eggs and it did not disappoint. The sourdough is so flavourful, dense and airy at the same time, and has the perfect crust. Barista was friendly, and my food came out quickly. Typical Vancouver prices, but the quality is fantastic. It is an open concept space, so the fans from the kitchen are quite loud but nothing to complain about. Quaint and vibey spot!

This is the best bakery for a bread nomad like me. I’m so glad I found the best sourdough bread in Vancouver.🥰 I always take their sourdough home and enjoy making a variety of sandwiches with it. Now, I honestly can’t imagine living without it.

Great sourdough, delicious coffee, where simplicity meets elegance. :) Always love a quiet and peaceful moment at Nelson the Seagull. I always go for their avocado toast and Americano. Really warm atmosphere and spacious, too.

I had the smoked salmon sandwich (I think it was called salmon on the seed?) with a latte and it was great. The sandwich had quite a bit of cream cheese and the avocado was a nice balance with the saltiness of the sandwich. The bread was also really good, would totally come back again for this.

Wow. Honestly some of the best bread in the world. And the jam - perfect. And the eggs poached perfectly. And to top it off great coffee and tea and super friendly people. We will be back.

My favorite café in Vancouver🧡 They have the best bread in the city AND one of the most affordable too!! As a french person I LOVE IT I come here almost every weekend too get some toast with jam and a chai latte, it's soooo good, the buttery toast and homemade jam... Bonus, I also really like how every piece of furniture is different. It feels like you're walking in a second-hand shop where some pieces are old and full of stories + tons of plants🪴

Nelson the Seagull is such a gem. The vibe is chill and artsy, and the sourdough is incredible. I recommend it, whether you’re into sweet toppings or something savory. Everything felt thoughtfully made, and the space has a welcoming, relaxed feel. One thing to note -not the café’s fault!- the surrounding area has a noticeable presence of homelessness. It didn’t take away from the experience for me, but it’s good to stay aware of your surroundings and keep an eye on your belongings, both in and outside the café. Overall, I’d absolutely come back. Great coffee, great bread, and a cool spot to hang.
