It was well taken care of. There's not much to do or see, really. The museum is small, dated and not very interesting. The overlook included in the $15 ticket price is the best part of the area. The interpretation center was informative and the guide, Toni-ann, was wonderful. I would stay closer to the ship/port if I ever came back to Antigua.

Put this place on your list. Lots of history and well preserved grounds and buildings. The shipyard is so well layout. Make sure you have 1/2 a day to see yard, Shirley heights and blockhouse. Spectacular views.

Visited as part of a tour of the island - the guide that showed us round was informative and friendly. An important part of Antiguan colonial history and very pretty in the sunshine.

We enjoyed looking around on a couple of occasions and learning about the history. Beautiful serene place.

This was a very enjoyable place to visit to learn some of the history of Antigua and see the old architecture of the time. The grounds and buildings are well taken care of and it was very interesting to explore the grounds. There are many historical facts posted throughout the area so you can learn the history behind Nelson's Dockyard as well as what the buildings were used for in the past. Also, the plant life is beautiful out here and it is almost like a botanical garden as well. This is a nice place to visit that history buffs and non history buffs alike will enjoy. It has something for everyone. The scenery alone is beautiful and there are many photo opportunities out here.

It's amazing how many of the original structures have been preserved. A tour would probably be the best way to get value for money out of the visit, but you can wander around the buildings reading about life in the dockyard 200+ years ago! The museum is a small, but interesting walk through the history of this World Heritage site

We visited by boat and then came back to visit on land. The history is so interesting here!! Due to being a part of a tour, we only spent about an hour here, the first 25 minutes or so spent with an employee who walked us around and explained the history, this was very interesting. I could have spent a few more hours here, so this could definitely be a whole day visit if you wanted. Different vendors with lots of cool souvenirs if interested.

Another must-see in Antigua. One of the most well-looked after places I saw while here. The dollar value of the boats here is off the charts- I'm told at least 2 Russian oligarchs yachts here have been seized due to sanctions and I completely believe it based on the vessels I saw. I only walked around here but there are plenty of places to spend money here and very few are bargains. Well worth your time spent though.
