"Stepping through the massive portal of this sprawling former private estate, set on one of San Miguel's most photogenic streets, you enter what feels like the home of a multimillionaire friend. Fellow guests include weekend travelers seeking a more intimate experience—for half the price—than they'd find at the neighboring five-star Rosewood Resort."

We stayed four nights. The property is very nice. The location is excellent. The restaurant is decent. We stayed in a big suite with balcony. The balcony was nice but the chairs uncomfortable. It would be much better to have lounge chairs to enjoy the balcony. The views from the balcony are really just so so. We enjoyed the room. Fridge is needed. Water regulation in shower is challenging. Worst part is AC. It does not cool down the room to be comfortable for sleeping. It is comfortable by 3 AM after outside temps have dropped. Whoever maintained our room was inconsistent. Sometime water was not replaced. Nor shampoo. Breakfast was just ok. Staff at times were disorganized and could not keep orders straight. No espresso as machine was broken. Bed was a bud on the hard side but Ok. Pillows were so so.

Very nice hotel.   Staff are all friendly and accommodating.  The rooms a good size with basic anmmenities, TV, heat/AC, minibar, couple of chairs, several drawers and space for hanging some clothes.  Bathroom is good sized with plenty of counter space and drawers for storage.  They offer some water in the bathroom for teeth brushing, etc.  Breakfast had 10 or so choices including both Mexican dishes and 2 egg dishes, all including fresh fruit, juice and bread.  The wi-fi was pretty good as we were able to stream videos without buffering.  Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting SMA.

This is an outstanding boutique hotel connected to a great restaurant (La Doña). The room we stayed in (Paquita) was farther away from the street, so it was pretty quiet for a downtown location. We highly recommend this place!

We stayed here recently for a wedding. It was comfortable enough, but a few things left us a bit disappointed. Starting with the good stuff: the rooms were large, the beds super comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. Now onto some cons: One of the main reasons we booked Nena was for the roof terrace (it’s all over their website!). However, we were told after asking it was only open on Wednesdays, which was really unfortunate. Additionally, the room had no window so was very dark, which made it hard to get ready for wedding festivities. Finally, there is no longer a rooftop pool and the courtyard pool did not appear cleaned, which dissuaded us from using it. Nena is a perfectly fine place to stay, but for the price it’s worth checking out the many other amazing options in SMA.

Nena hotel was the place to stay during our weekend of Dia de Los Muertos! We’re so glad we did accessibility to the main plaza was about 2 blocks away, the staff was amazing , the rooms were small yet cozy details in the rooms were incredible from the truffles to the robes and the fact that the hotel only has 13 rooms we felt as if in that weekend we were taken care of with high quality service and friendliness! We met Paco the owner which was very attentive and always there on site to greet us , mario and Andres were always attentive from helping us get a taxi chauffeur our bags recomendations etc, as well as Emma in the front office and the cleaning ladies kept our room extra tidy! In the restraunt right next door called La Dona, there was an excellent waitress named Letty, which made our breakfast (which was included) extra special daily! We would def return and choose no other place to stay when in SMA!

We loved staying at this charming hotel. They were very friendly and always so helpful. The location is perfect, a 5 min walk to anywhere. We had a junior suite room at the lower pool and we swam one warm afternoon and it was just so lovely. The breakfasts were delicious and the rooftop food is excellent also. My husband played guitar at night with the cathedral in the background. We slept soundly and awoke to the birds sweetly chirping. Charming is how I would describe the Nena Boutique Hotel.

My wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel is nice and quirky. The breakfast is great - only thing is that it starts at 9AM so if you have a early tour planned (which we did) you have to either skip breakfast or ask them to pack you something to eat. The location fantastic - close enough to the center but not in the heart of it so you avoid the noise and crowds. The room was dark (Isabel) and lacked any place to sit. The drainage in the sink and shower was not great - we flagged the problem in the sink but the problem remained. On our first night there - there was loud music that continued on for a while and made it hard to sleep. Wasn't a problem on other nights. The staff were awesome. Given the location and the service, we would recommend this place.

We stayed here for a weekend visit to SMA, and were delighted with the attentive service, and the location. The room, while small, had everything we needed and the bathroom had great water temperature and pressure - not a sure thing in an old city. Unfortunately, our room was near the rooftop restaurant, which played music until late in the evening. We were warned about this by the front desk, and they did lower the volume at 10 p.m. when we complained our first night. If you go to bed early and are a light sleeper, don’t stay in room Isabel! The service really was exceptional, the room was spotless, the location is close to everything and the included breakfast was delicious. We would definitely stay here again, just not in that room!
