Is this Phnom Penh’s coolest neighbourhood? - SilverKris

"Opened recently a few blocks east of the main bazaar, this restaurant channels the coastal town of Kep with a cheery nautical design (fishing nets and rustic wooden tables) and seafood delivered fresh from Kep each day. Head chef Sopheavy Chea is known for garlic clams, smoky barbecued prawns and a famous Kampot pepper fried crab." - Claire Knox

NESAT Seafood House was one of my favorite . The restaurant possesses a relaxed and cozy vibe—simple yet thoughtfully designed and welcoming. The service was alright and efficient without being pushy, which we appreciated. My favorite dish is their seasonal menu, which is Gamba Pil Pil. The clam dishes taste more delicious if you choose it with Kampot pepper rather than the tamarind basil sauce. The grilled shrimp and squid were just right. The chocolate ice cream tastes better than the sorbet. The red wine with mussels is just ordinary. The fish sauce they offer tastes good. Their garlic bread also tastes great. Their curry isn't to my liking. Sometimes, it seems like the aroma of the cooking doesn't quite match the flavor of the food, haha. NESAT excels in prioritizing the essentials—quality ingredients, excellent preparation, and attentive service. It’s genuine and doesn’t feel forced. If you enjoy seafood and are looking for a laid-back place that delivers quality, this is definitely a location to consider.

The food on this place is absolutely magnificent! we ordered like 7 different dishes, every single one was great. they cook on the charcoal, which makes it extremely tasty. we visited during rainy weather so that added the atmosphere. a minus though, that the place doesn't take cards, so cash or local payments only.

Squid was so soft and tender, river lobster, crab soup and crab fried rice all 10/10. The cucumber gin cocktail however was weak and wouldn’t recommend.

Wonderful experience, we had a large variety off the menu and everything was good, oysters are small but very nice, grilled muscles were super nice, crab soup was tasty those that had fish loved them, I thought the Gambas Pil Pil were outstanding. Had the orange chocolate mousse is fabulous. Sorry the pics are not worthy but we didn’t have time to snap before the dishes were attacked. Best overall restaurant we found in Cambodia, nice job. Oh you may want to make reservations.

Quite a nice place with original furniture. We ordered the shrimp in sauce, they were wonderful, and the oysters, they are in the picture. I have never seen such small oysters, it's hard to call them oysters. And it would be nice if the waiters would warn you that you're getting a mini version.
