I actually didn't go into the power plant but when you head out take highway 435! Most amazing drive of my life! You're going up and down some pretty steep grades but you'll be fine! Each hill unlocks new valleys and views! It was STUNNING to say the least. THIS IS A MUST!

Warning! There is no tour at this plant! You cannot get in. We drove all the way there, on gravel road, and learned that there used to be a tour about 3 years ago. Save your time and don't go there You can take a tour, which was great, at Hellisheidarvirkjun plant

No longer offers tours and the road there is gravel, not the best if you have a car.
