Hotel Nesslerhof (Grossarl, Salzburg) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The high-elevation village of Grossarl is home to several luxurious lodges, but the Hotel Nesslerhof, considered one of the best spa hotels in the Austrian Alps, has an edge over its neighbors. The main draw is an expansive wellness area with connected indoor and outdoor pools, including a heated infinity pool overlooking the surrounding valley, a natural swimming pond, a series of saunas and steam baths, and a full spa with an open-air garden bar for post-treatment drinks. Rooms are luminous and modern with native wood paneling, crisp white linens, and private balconies with scenic views, while spacious suites come with extras like fireplaces and hot tubs. Yoga classes and guided hikes are included, and the hotel, located directly across from the Hochbrandbahn ski lift, is a perfect base for hiking, skiing, and mountain biking." - Tablet Hotels

THE BEST! Our stay at the Nesslerhof was absolutely wonderful, with warm hospitality and a real sense of care from everyone we met. The spa area was incredible, the food was outstanding, and the rooms were beautiful with super comfortable beds. A big shout-out to Elias in the restaurant, whose friendly service and spot-on wine recommendations made our dinners extra special. We can’t wait to come back.

Everything was superb, from the moment we stepped in. Wide array of food and comfortable resting areas. Only thing was the beds and pillows were not v comfy, especially the sofa bed setup for my son. Was very narrow. Had to sleep straight the whole night

Best wellness resort we ever stayed at. Everything was just perfect. The room, the SPA, the food, the public areas, the bar and the bar team, the services, the treatments, the staff (from reception through restaurant, bar, housekeeping). Simple the best place for luxury alpine vacation. Whether you want to be active or just relax, that is the place to go. Top notch. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights in February 2025.|I booked through their official site directly, full board option. Considering the location I suggest to book with meal option as its cheaper than to had a meal separately. Restaurants are far from this hotel. If you come exactly for skiing then this hotel is a very best solution if you come without ski staff and need to rent- this hotel will provide you contacts for online rent, shop will deliver the skiing staff to hotel directly for you. |Ski access is also close to hotel. ski cards can be purchased at the reception and it's just five minutes by walk to the station to go up by cable car

I have very mixed feelings about our stay. On one hand, most of the things were in line with expectations, such as: great indoor/outdoor pool, pretty good half board, spacious and clean rooms etc.||On the other hand, with very high price point comes with high expectations toward service, and this is where the hotel failed miserably for us.||It was the only place during our long road trip (and staying in ~12 places) where we didn't feel welcome. During check-in process I felt like we're a nuisance for the staff. "Here is the card, elevators are there, have a good day". Nothing was explained, no tour of the property. Not even such trivial things like breakfast / dinner times or even handing over card which contains such information (I seen it later available on the counter). I'd comment that person "welcoming" us behaved like she owns the place, but judging by the photo of the owners family that waited for us in the room, that might be actually true.||Aside of the major issue above that set the tone for the rest of the stay, there were also multiple instances of unprofessional behavior from other staff members. While nothing was really a big deal and single instance would be ok, consistent lack of professionalism is not something I expect from property of this class. Some examples: ||- I had a specific request for non feather pillows (confirmed by email before checking) that was not delivered. Needed to follow up with reception after arrival.|- We weren't on the list of dinner guests. Quite surprising mistake for hotel with 3/4 board by default. Quickly solved by staff so again, not a big issue.|- As we were already into 4th week of road trip, our car was quite dirty and didn't have proper wash aside of some quick pressure wash on gas stations. I asked at the reception if a proper, hand wash can be arranged, or should I find a detailer by myself. I was assured it can be arranged. Next day I was notified that it's done and added to my bill. Car was not clean at all, not even close by any stretch of imagination. I ended up leaving the car for a proper wash in Salzburg during a short trip and "cleaning" was taken out of the hotel bill, but the whole interaction was very unprofessional.

Nesslerhof is by far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. From start to finish, the entire experience was absolutely fantastic. The food was phenomenal—beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and every detail was thoughtfully adjusted to accommodate my celiac disease. I felt completely safe and cared for, which is rare and deeply appreciated. Our room was stunning—spacious, elegant, and incredibly comfortable. The spa is truly exceptional, offering total relaxation, and the natural pond and swimming pool are surrounded by breathtaking scenery that makes you feel like you’re in a dream. Everything about Nesslerhof exceeded expectations. The warmth, attention to detail, and beauty of the place left a lasting impression. I can’t wait to return.

Nesslerhof was fantastic. The staff were all so courteous and attentive. The facilities were plentiful and clean, especially the beautiful nature pool. I visited with my cousin, we stayed five days and should have stayed seven! Lots of great spaces to chill out, we will definitely come back.

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in, hands down. The food was fantastic, the staff was kind and thoughtful, the room was so comfortable, and the swimming and sauna experiences were truly restorative. Usually I feel sort of allergic to resorts and all inclusive style hotels but this family-run place felt so homey and warm while still being extremely luxurious. You can not find this sort of place in the states. I want to move in.
