How is this a four star hotel? Trip adviser kinda failed me on this one. I stayed for seven nights at this hotel along with about 80 of my colleagues during a port visit. Having traveled this year all around the world and having stayed in four star hotels in Dubai and other areas, I was utterly disappointed with this hotel. I read so many reviews before booking and I am shocked that I never heard the truth about this hotel from ay of them. I am going to lay it all out there for you so you ( the consumer) can make a sound decision on whether you really want to stay here based on the amenities.
Let's start with my biggest pet peeve, the wireless. The wireless was HORRIBLE. Absolutely disappointed about the connectivity. It is essential that they fix this problem. I ended up having to pay around 100 dollars in wireless fees to update my phone and computer. Completely unsat. We live in a modern age, everyone needs wireless, especially travelers. They need to figure out how to accommodate this to serve the consumer.
Next, I will go into the actual condition of the rooms. The rooms are cheap in appearance. Everything is cheap plastic and generic. The disparity between the rooms is great as well. My friends in one building with the same room had no AC that worked, cracks all over the appliances and ceilings, dirty bathrooms and broken lamps and lights. The soap dispensers couldn't have been cheaper. The carpet had a stain that looked like blood and was large. (WTH?!) Our room in another building was far better, the counter tops were nice, we had crown molding and cleaner carpets. The Tv's are travel-size, and the furnishings are bottom shelf to say the least.
The keys are hard to get and obviously they have not updated their key service and wanted to charge me 25 dollars to get a fourth key to a three bedroom suite. This doesn't make sense, and it made getting in and out of the room very inconvenient.
That all being said, the property was clean and the rooms themselves were not filthy. The best part was the service. Everyone that worked there was very hospitable and nice, willing to help as much as they could. I think the problem is with the owner who needs to consider updating the units and getting wireless for the paying customers.
Next time I go to Perth, I will not be staying here and I recommend that you don't either. Some of my smarter friends stayed at the Hyatt, which was remarkably better, with spotless, classy amenities and only cost around 20 USD a night more that this place.
